The breakfasts were excellent. Varied and high quality. The room interior is designed in the style of the GDR/Soviet era, which can be seen as a distinctive atmospheric feature of the hotel and part of its historical context
A downside is the connection to public transport to the center, that could have been better..

They only have 1 staff working at the reception when we checked in and if something is wrong with your room, nobody will pick up the phone as he or she is assisting other guests at the front, so you will actually have to go down and wait until it’s your turn to get it taken care of.
At the time of our check in, it is clearly seen that the receptionist is overwhelmed. No smile on her face and no friendliness in her talk.
Room was old and looks clean as we entered. However, as you pay more attention to the details, you’d find cracks on the bath tub, broken door chain, tears on shower curtain, stains on wall and lots of stuff (trash) under the bed.
Location is not close to city center, but they offer a free public transport ticket that you can use during your stay. Bus/street car station is about 15 minutes walk from the hotel.
Bed is spring bed. I can barely sleep on it.
Unfortunately, not one of the friendliest, nicest hotels we’ve stayed in so far.
I’d think twice before staying there again.
