Reviews
Rooms ok, although we changed from our first allocated room as it was at the top of a steep hill, and although we don't have mobility issues, it was a struggle to walk up there. The 2 beds in the first room were like kids beds, but we managed for the first night, then we were able to move rooms. The second room was better and on the other side of the road and closer to restaurant and bar.
The room had obviously been used as a self catering unit as it had a small kitchenette area.
We went into Kassiopi most days as there was so little to do at the hotel.
The walk was around 20 minutes downhill, took longer coming back.
Kassiopi is a nice place with a pretty harbour and a few tavernas to have drink and food.
Sadly this experience put me of visiting Corfu again, although I'm sure there are some livelier areas on the island.
There are 4 pools to chose from and there was always sun loungers available. Most days we were the only ones sat at the reception pool.
Its a nice walk to Avlaki beach or walk into kassiopi harbour.
I HIGHLY DO NOT recommend this place. It was horrible.
1. The WIFI never worked unless you were in the dining room.
2. They ONLY take cash NO credit card.
3. There is a ATM up the road you can utilize.
4. The bar hasn't been open for a couple of months.
5. The ONLY restaurant open on property was Mythos NOT owned by hotel but they're ONLY open dinner hours but we're pretty good.
6. They were very rude and demeaning and the ONLY worker that was nice was the girl who worked the 3pm-11pm shift
7. They're in the middle of NOWHERE I mean NOWHERE. They're like an hour away from the airport.
8. We had to book a taxi to go to airport to catch flight to Athens and it was a 100 euros there and 80 euros back.
9. That's how deep this place is
10. Needless to say the person who booked for us didn't do adequate research.
11. We were stuck because it was SOOO expensive to go anywhere.
12. There is a Downtown area not far from resort which was nice with shops and restaurants but that's it and beach not too far.
13. You can't actually choose your room they choose for you.
14. The room our friends were in had water leakage from bathroom sink so it cause plywood to lift and water Damage in room. Took them 2 days to get a new room.
15. It was supposed to be all inclusive but was not. We ONLY got breakfast and dinner. No lunch and had to pay for ALL drinks except drinks for breakfast which was juice.
16. There is a bus to catch up the road if you want to go into town but didn't find out til after 2 days of being there because if you ask questions they tell you they don't understand or don't speak English.
17. There is NOTHING to do on property for it to be all inclusive l. Come to find out it's a half board NOT all inclusive.
18. Fresh towels EVERY 2 days and sheets EVERY 3 days.
19. They DO NOT offer wash cloths you have to bring your own. However we were told by a friend who recently visited Greece Europeans don't usually offer wash clothes so we were already prepared and bought our own.
20. The bed OMG felt like you were sleeping on a box spring not a mattress VERY uncomfortable.
I say part of this is our fault because we should have done research and ask questions.
But we trusted someone to to this and turned out horrible.
I was really worried as some of the reviews were awful. However I was pleasantly surprised, the hotel room is clean and quite large with a balcony and a really cool view. You can hear the sea from your balcony at night as the location of the hotel is perfect. The food: amazing! Monday night was our favourite as it was BBQ night and the food was perfect, good variety- I think you could find something for yourself even if you're fussy. Breakfast also has a good variety with cereal option available! Overall we've not had a bad meal! The only minus is that not every food is labeled so you kind of have to guess but if you ask a staff member they're more than happy to explain what's in the food. Speaking of the staff; they're friendly, nice hard working people. Plenty space at the pool so you can relax, the pool is also clean and the hotel staff really make sure that the hotel stays clean! There's two markets in the same area as the hotel so if you fancy some snacks you can go there which is a lovely addition but with all inclusive you don't have buy anything.
However we were pleasantly surprised. The food was plentiful and did change each day, as someone has already stated the Europeans do not eat their food boiling hot but is was perfectly edible. Our room was on on the 2nd floor at the top of the hill across the road from the main hotel and was clean and spacious. The shower was very good. Our bags were carried up by one of the hotel staff and we asked for them to be brought down on the day we left and they obliged again. Some people in other rooms had some problems and it appears some rooms have not yet been updated. The staff were all lovely and worked extremely hard. There were limited sun beds around the main pool but we always found a bed at one of the other pools. The site is very large and spread out. When we asked for more coat hangers as there were only 3 in each wardrobe we were given more. This hotel was cheap for all inclusive, we ate ate out a few times as it was nice to eat overlooking the harbour and to try different foods. You get what you pay for and this was good value for what we paid .
