Belvedere Aeolis Hotel in Mithymna

It was the worst accommodation experience I’ve ever had.

Although the hotel looks nice in the listings, it's nothing like that in reality. The hotel is located 65 km from the city center, and the only transportation is a bus that runs just four times a day on the island. Otherwise, you're forced to take a taxi and pay an exorbitant price, as the hotel offers no shuttle service to the center whatsoever.
Even if you take the bus to Molyvos, the walk from the bus stop to the hotel takes 40 minutes, and there’s no transportation available! The hotel has a completely useless shuttle that only runs four times a day. And since the shuttle times overlap with the bus schedule, it's absolutely impractical. Moreover, the hotel shuttle doesn’t even drop you near the stop—it leaves you in a remote, unrelated location that’s a 25-minute walk away!

The hygiene at the hotel was a disaster! The rooms were the most disgusting I’ve ever stayed in. We couldn’t rest for the first three days due to the mosquitoes in the room, and during the last two days, we saw centipedes, ant swarms, and even a lizard inside.
When we reported it to the reception, they showed no concern and responded with a "so what?" attitude. After insisting, they sent someone for cleaning, but the person couldn’t get rid of the creatures—on the contrary, they scattered all over the room, and we had to change rooms as a result.
The pool, unlike how it appears in the pictures, was dirty and full of bugs. So we didn’t use the pool at all, except on the first day.

Also, despite repeatedly informing the reception, someone entered our room for cleaning without permission. It made us feel very uncomfortable.

I will never stay here again. The island is beautiful, but I highly recommend finding a different hotel.

A Good Base for Exploring, But Major Flaws Overall, the hotel has good bones and serves well as a base for exploring the area. However, it is in desperate need of refurbishment and has some significant issues that travelers should be aware of before booking. The pool area, in particular, is showing its age. The pool itself is falling apart, and the wooden decking is a genuine hazard, with a high risk of getting splinters. The biggest letdown was the food. We found it to be consistently terrible often served cold and seemingly rehashed from the previous day's meals. On one occasion, we even discovered insects in our food. The all-inclusive package is simply not worth the money. Our advice would be to use the in-room fridge; rent a car or quad bike and stock up on your own drinks and snacks. You'll find it's much cheaper and the quality is far better if you eat out in nearby Molyvos. Furthermore, if you plan to use the adult-only "relax" pool, be prepared for drinks served from plastic bottles that are often flat, and the beer is frequently warm. While the presence of cats around the property might seem charming at first, they are quite bold and will not hesitate to jump onto your table to try and steal food while you are eating. Finally, the transfer service to and from the town is infrequent. When you do manage to get a transfer back, be prepared for an unnecessarily long journey, as the driver often makes multiple stops to drop off guests at other hotels along the way.
