Lydia Maris Resort & Spa in Kolimbia

Last week, five of us (from Dresden) enjoyed a family holiday and it couldn't have been better. Thank you so much, Maria, for everything and the excellent service, and to all the staff. The service, restaurant, bar, cleanliness, and especially the friendliness were perfect. We would gladly return anytime and highly recommend it.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Lydia Maris Resort & Spa for 10 nights in October 2025. We had the most amazing stay - we were even able to upgrade our room to a swim up! The hotel itself is gorgeous but what made it even better was the amazing staff. In particular, Maria at reception who was able to assist with any queries, and Juliano at the pool bar who was incredibly friendly and chatty - he made our experience at the hotel one to remember!

We booked a week stay at the Lydia Maris for a half term break - me, my partner and our 5 year old. Lovely hotel with great facilities. Plenty of space to relax around the pool. The beach was less than 10 mins away. There were a few local shops and restaurants but as we were all inclusive we didn’t really use them. Some of them had closed as it was coming towards the end of the season but there was still plenty to do if you wanted to. The food and drinks were great - plenty of options. It would be good if the food labelling was a bit clearer - I picked up some stuffed mushrooms that had meat in them and I’m veggie. Staff were available but busy so not that easy to get the info you need. The hotel itself was great. The room was perfect for our needs, the beds were comfortable. The shower esp was lovely. It was in need of some bits and pieces that needed improving but as it was the end of the season I would expect those to be done by next year. What really made the experience was the entertainment. Alex and Evelina were brilliant. The kids club ran from 3pm-5pm daily and Evelina was incredible with the kids with a great mix of activities - they made pizza one day and cookies another day. The mini disco was also on every night at 8.45pm which our daughter loved. They had sports activities on daily and as well as entertainment at night. They were great without being overbearing. Anyone who manages to get my partner up on stage dancing must be doing a good job! Things did slow down towards the end of the week as the season was coming to a close but we still had a lovely time. The weather was perfect for us - 25 degrees most days so plenty of sun without being too hot. We booked through Jet2 and had an absolutely brilliant time. Would recommend

We recently returned from a 10 day stay at Lydia Maris and the first time we have been to Rhodes too. I want to start by saying do not expect a 5* internationally recognised hotel. Perhaps the Greek star rating system is different from other places we have visited. Staff. All staff very friendly, welcoming, smiling and passing the time of day, especially Tsambika on reception. 10/10 Cleanliness. Room clean, grounds maintained. Pool clean, staff constantly clearing tables/glasses etc, reception welcoming. 10/10. Food. Repetitive! Pork served every day in various guises! Salads nice and varied. Always have a pasta dish, and grilled meat/fish. Chips on the breakfast buffet was a first! Omelettes made to order for breakfast was nice. Fresh bread and rolls were fresh. Always a good choice of desserts, but all very similar. We got fed up of the food a few times so didn't eat in restaurant some days. Our teens enjoyed the pizza and gyros. Felt sorry for the gyros chef as she had long queues and she was doing everything on her own in searing heat. Afternoon cakes served were very good. Never had a problem getting a table. If eating outside, be prepared to have smokers and vapers at neighbouring tables. Overall, 6/10 mainly due to repetitive nature. Drinks. A bit hit and miss. Sometimes fizzy drinks were fine. Other times very weak/watery. Shame they don't serve proper orange juice in restaurant at breakfast. It's more like a strong cordial. Cocktails OK. Very syrupy. Self service soft drinks, hot drinks, beer and wine near entertainment was OK. The disappointment was the bar in the lobby. This was rarely open so in order to get a drink during the evening you had to walk to the pool bar. Not the end of the world, but a shame not to have it open as it was a nice area to sit and chill. 8/10. Pool. Clean but soooooooo cold. Wouldn't have been surprised to see icicles! This put us off and we only went in once. Plenty of sun loungers, parasols table and chairs. I'd imagine it might be difficult getting loungers in peak season, but fine in October! We would have liked a bit more action around the pool like music, but that's our preference. 8/10. Room. Where to start. We arrived at hotel at 11pm. Shown to room 115. We were concerned when taken across car park and down steps to a room that felt like it was half underground. It was dark the hand rail was wobbly and we immediately had reservations. On entering the room, we were disappointed. The view was through an insect net onto a patio that had a view of a maintenance building and a car park that was about 6 feet above the room. You had to look up to it. See photos. Rooms were generally clean apart from one bed that had bugs and hair. Immediately went to reception to ask for a different room. Told non available till the next day. We were offered a better room (705) overlooking car park and main road, and still not the one we had booked or what is shown on

It was our first time to go Greece I emailed in advance to see if they can provide some sort of romantic gesture in our room as it was our anniversary they replied and said they will do what they can , unfortunately when arriving the room was just standard with no romantic gesture, In fairness catering staff was great from beginning as we had a late check in and they provided at least some cold food for dinner, the breakfast was repetitive but lunch and dinner had some change which was lovely , we were all inclusive so when I ordered drinks I noticed the cocktails were watered down tasted more juice then alcohol and they would give plastic cups for them a shame not on a glass. I came back to uk with insect bites and emailed them and they were helpful enough to reply and say they would look into my query. Lovely pool a bit cold, and good staff entertainment at night .Overall lovely stay

Had an amazing experience, all of the staff are amazing, Food was amazing as were the rooms. Lots of different room options, which is always nice.

Perfect hotel, good breakfast but lunch and dinner can be better. Very clean and amazing staff. Amazing and friendly animation team, all day activities very entertaining. Highly recommended!

I'll start this review by saying that, I am not someone who just loves everything all the time. I do my fair share of complaining and will call out if something isn't right. We have just left from a week long break at Lydia Maris with my 6 year old and 1 year old daughters. Before we left I'd had a few sleepless nights after reading through the poor reviews. I can honestly hand on heart say, that I disagree with them completely. I understand from some other guests that some of the standard rooms are basic and could do with an update. We were in a family suite which was beautiful and recently done out. Oj our last day we had a late checkout and had to move to a standard room which was also beautiful and recently done out. We arrived at just gone 12 and were met by a friendly man on reception. He didn't really speak English but we muddled along and were helped with our cases by a lovely young man who then brought us some food and drinks to our room. I have seen some people complain about reception when they've arrived in the night. I will say, you often get what you put in to someone and a big smile and willingness to understand goes an awful long way. These are things that I have seen in a few poor reviews that had worried me, when I needn't have worried: Our air conditioning was cold and worked well I didn't find the food repetitive, it was nicer than many all inclusive resorts I have been to, I usually book a 4* Staff were very friendly and helpful The drinks from the self serve machine were nice and if they ran out they were quickly topped up The cocktails were nice The place was clean There are little birds around like there is in literally every country but they aren't trying to steal your food and they aren't a nuisance at all. My daughter loved them. I didn't see any flies at all around the food or in the dining room The food was not greasy We have never not been able to get a sunbed, there was always plenty free all day. We often moved around chasing the shade for my little one We did have ants in our bathroom when we arrived but I told reception in the morning when we went for breakfast, and they were gone straight away I did not queue at the pizza man, the gyro lady or the bar for any longer than 2 minutes at any point I really can't relate to those writing terrible reviews. I can only think that maybe they were very disappointed with their room and so had a downer on the whole place. Or perhaps they usually book a 5* hotel that would cost significantly more than the Lydia Maris and expected the same standard for a fraction of the cost? We all know all 5* resorts are not created equal. One thing that reviews do call out which is correct is that there is not enough seating in the area where they have the entertainment which i found frustrating. There were always seats at the pool bar which was fine but not ideal when my girls were enjoying the entertainment. Also, the safe is £20 non refundable for a week which I thought
