Description

Porto Bello Beach - All Inclusive is a 4-star hotel in Kardamena, Greece, offering a wide variety of room types including suites with private pools and sea views. The hotel features over a dozen swimming pools, jacuzzis, and a private beach area. Guests can enjoy multiple restaurants including themed a la carte options, a spa and wellness centre, fitness facilities, and sports courts such as tennis and table tennis. Services include 24-hour reception, free parking, free bike rentals, and currency exchange. The hotel is known for spacious, clean rooms with air conditioning, though some rooms are dated while others have been renovated. Families are accommodated with family rooms and children’s playgrounds. The all-inclusive package covers numerous amenities but some guests report variability in food quality and limited late-night options. The hotel’s location under the airport flight path means aircraft noise is noticeable. Overall, it is a large resort with extensive amenities but with service and maintenance inconsistencies noted by guests.

Location

Porto Bello Beach is located in Kardamena, Greece, about 4 km from Kos Island International Airport (KGS). The hotel lies approximately 890 meters from Helona Beach, providing guests with easy access to the sea. The setting includes multiple pools cascading down a hillside, offering views of the sea and nearby mountains. The hotel is relatively far from town centers, so renting a car is recommended for exploring the island. Transfers from the airport are straightforward and take around 15 minutes. The private beach is just a 2-minute walk from the hotel buildings. While the location is picturesque, guests should be prepared for the noise from planes landing overhead every 15 to 20 minutes.

Tips

  • Book a room in the newer or renovated blocks to enjoy more modern décor and better bathrooms.
  • Rent a car to explore the island, as the hotel is some distance from town centers and public transport options are limited.
  • Arrive early to secure sun loungers, as they are often reserved by guests for the whole day.

Policies and conditions

  • Check in time: 15:00. Check out time: 11:00.

Definitely not a 5-star hotel – the worst experience we’ve had in the last 10 years!
First of all, this place is nowhere near a 5-star hotel. You just pay 5-star prices and taxes for 3-star conditions.
We moved the bed because our child lost a ball, and the wall behind it was covered in mold. They came, wiped it with bleach, and left bleach all over the floor.
In the last two days, they closed almost all of their themed restaurants, even though that was never mentioned before we booked. The food was old and reused, which is absolutely unacceptable – especially for kids.
When we asked a staff member about it, they just shrugged and pretended not to understand. I went to reception, showed photos of the food, and asked if a manager could check it. The receptionist said nothing, just stared at the photos – and someone behind the desk actually laughed after we left.
That was the moment we realized this hotel has zero respect for guests.
We paid in full and expected proper service, not excuses about the “end of season.”
Never again – I do NOT recommend Porto Bello Royal, or Kos in general.

We went at the end of season which made it a little tough as for all inclusive, we had to walk to the other side of the hotel. Otherwise the room was comfortable, cleaned and replenished every day though we did have to ask for additional coffee. Although you can get transfers you are quite far away from everything so we do recommend having a hire car so you aren’t restricted unless you aren’t planning to leave hotel. Own private beach which was great as we were a 2 minute walk. Staff were lovely especially good with kids. Food wise - there is variety but for our son who does have aversions they seemed to run out of chicken nuggets by the 3rd day so we ran out of variety for him. We would stay again but not out of season

BOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE..IF YOUR LOOKING FOR 5 star ⭐️ it’s a real shame to write this as we got married here 3 years ago how it has gone down hill !!!

"Absolute nightmare at Porta Bella Hotel – a shocking decline from our magical wedding venue three years ago 😔. This time, the "hospitality" was brutal. Manager Faye and staff, including Stelios, were aggressively rude, especially towards my wife. Threats of police involvement over non-existent loud music (we weren't even playing any!) culminated in stelios getting in her face and "squaring up" – yes, you read that right. We felt intimidated in our own paid-for room.

Things went downhill from there. After reporting the treatment to a TUI rep (stationed right there!), we left to avoid escalation, only to return and find our door locked. They demanded payment upfront before late checkout – standard procedure be damned. Threats of police ejection? Classy.

The first night we got in to our room we had a cockroach 🪳 in our room and in our pool area and ants 🐜 in our bath room which was not the greatest start to our experience from then we knew the hotel had gone down hill and from speaking to others they thought the same to.

The room we upgraded to a pricey private pool suite for? Neglected and not worth the premium. Food? Repetitive, cheap meat dishes daily; we'd rather eat out. Coffee tasted like instant crap and upset our stomachs. Drinks? Watered down and disappointing.

Structurally, the hotel's a hazard – broken tiles everywhere, risky for guests, especially with kids. For a place boasting sea views, you'd expect 5-star service.

This is far below par, even for 3 stars. Avoid if you value your peace and safety.

We've traveled widely and stayed at top hotels; Porta Bella's treatment and facilities are unacceptable. 😡

Beautiful looking hotel on the outside. Lot of tiles loose and broken around the property. Food quality good in buffet .restaurant quality not so good .Rooms basic . Pillows flat . No socket beside mirrors to use straighteners etc. Wedding venue and service Beautiful. Would rate it as 3 to 4 star max

Stayed for a week in a room with a private pool and we really enjoyed it. The room was cleaned meticulously and the buffet food was very good - lots of choice and very fresh. The hotel is on the flight path for landing so beware of aircraft noise (although we got used to this pretty quickly). Location is a bit far out with a couple of neighbouring hotels which we didn't mind, but would have been nice to go into the nearest resort (taxis are hard to come by on the island).

Pretty rubbish experience. The hotel was not baby friendly or wheel chair accessible at all unless you want to walk for miles to get to reception. The staff were not always accommodating and reluctant to drop you at your room even with a buggy. No pool service, the food was bland and lukewarm. Wine was not included, cocktails were watered down and you could only book 1 restaurant for your whole stay at a time. Not to mention the type of people that stayed there would reserve their seat for the whole day and leave or fight you for a seat at the buffet. Due to the lack of restaurants and restrictions we were forced to queue like cattle for the buffet and then heard in. Awful place.

We recently stayed at the hotel in September and initially were very disappointed with our room (418). It was dated and grubby and not what you'd expect from a hotel of this caliber. We ended up staying in another block (308) and that room was much better, modern, immaculately clean and a much higher standard than the previous one.
The food in all of the restaurants was great, service for drinks very slow most of the time and drinks at the bar were very inconsistent. Great at times, terrible at others and again at times a very long wait to be served.
That said the hotel is in a fantastic location and has great amenities, just don't expect a 5 star service.

Been here twice now, and it is good. The rooms are spacious, and the pools are clean.
Since my first visit in 2018, the food and drink has gone downhill. The beers and cocktails available tasted very poor.

Had a holiday and family wedding at the hotel, wedding coordinator Margherita was amazing. Very clean hotel, great food in buffet restaurant. Long walk to the room but well lit and good walkways. Only thing they could do better is better food late night (nothing really available after 9.30)

It's OK, but it's not up to the hype. Very average all-inclusive with no USP at all (water park is not a usp as you pay to enter). All pools are in full sunlight for most of the day, very little shade for children or non sun worshipers. Sun loungers are taken very early and limited fixed parasols. Food is the same as most other hotels, breakfast being the best of it. Staff are always polite and talkative 😊. Evening bars are limited and located at the main build. Only 1 small lift for us with 2 buggies and ramps are sporadic at certain levels.
