Portobello Wellness Hotel in Esztergom

Unfortunately the spa is not open due to renovation, but the hotel is very good.

Excellent hotel, very close to the center (5 minutes' walk to the pedestrian area, 5 minutes to the Danube, and 10 minutes' walk to the cathedral or the hill opposite the city), next to a spa center with swimming pools (unfortunately closed due to the season/renovations), free parking. Pleasant and friendly service, highly recommended.

We went to Portobello based on a recommendation of friends, who both have 2 kids each. We asked them to recommend a good spa hotel not too far away from Budapest and Portobello came up multiple times. Now we know why. Frankly, there is a lot to love to about Portobello, at least there was for us. The food (we were half board, so breakfast and dinner) is really delicious, especially for what you pay for and the setting. The service is top-notch, not once did anyone make a face or not be ready to help; and they did all this with actually being able to help as well. The style, e.g. of the rooms, the restaurant, and similar seem like they are renovated, but at the very least are kept sparkling clean. And of course, the whole reason to go there - the wellness area is quite extensive and manageable even when there are a lot of people. We practically spent 3 full days in the spa area and with our then 3,5-year-old son, we simply had a blast with the all the different options the wellness area had to offer. Not to mention that while one of us was with him, the other could enjoy time in the thermal waters, in the sauna, etc. The hotel, all its offerings, the location (quite nice to be on the border to Slovakia, as we had dinner there on our last day), the price are all just simply amazing. 5/5 highly recommended - we will come again!

We stayed in this hotel for one night during our cycle tour from Vienna to Budapest. Nice modern hotel, friendly staff, excellent, quiet and clean room, great breakfast with lot of choice. We did not use the wellness facilities. Ideal place to visit the city. We enjoyed our stay !

Very good location. We liked the high quality saunas and excellent cold plunge, but avoided the pools since they were mobbed by kids! Ditto for breakfast... This place caters to families, so go early if you want to avoid the noise!

Nice room, friendly staff, good breakfast and nice bar. It is in a good location to get from the Castle . There is a playroom for kids, and it is attached to an aquatic facility with pools, slides, a lazy river and a hot tub. My only disappointment was the hours for the gym. Since it is attached to the aquatics facility, it doesn’t open until 830 am. I would have loved to use it around 630-7.

The room isn't very large, but it feels cozy.
It includes a spacious comfortable bad, brand-new furniture, and up-to-date plumbing. The room is excellently soundproofed. The hotel itself is contemporary and spotless. The staff members are both amiable and professional. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast and dinner, which were delicious and offered a broad range of choices.
I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for both family vacations and romantic getaways!

Everything was fine. The room was clean, and big enough, the food was varied, and satisfied all needs. There was a room for children too. The experiens spa was very good too. The staff was polite, and helpul. The wiew from my room was wonderfool.

Delicious food, kind Staff, clean rooms, excellent wellness, although the temperature was higher than comfortable in the rooms. The hotel and the wellness section is very well equipped for young children also, including toddlers.

Great hotel, close to the Slovakian border and Danube river. The spa was easily accessible and included in the price of the room. The staff was professional and friendly. Room was clean and had a great view.
