3 and a half ⭐️
Good hotel that could be so much better.
Rooms are very dark and dated, the single bed was not very comfortable. Very clean.
Breakfast was good. Reception staff were quick and efficient.
Didn’t use the restaurant as there a a load of cheaper options nearby.
There is an underground carpark available to guests at the rear of the hotel. Spaces are a little tricky.

The hotel is located on a square right in the center of the city. I had a single room. It was very clean. The staff was very friendly ☺️ The only thing is that the breakfast is modest, but it depends on comparison. I really enjoyed my stay!

Lovely, clean hotel in the heart of the city. The breakfast was amazing with lots of variety. The ratatouille was absolutely delicious—kudos to the chef! 🫡

A hidden gem – both the hotel and the city

I only booked a night in Székesfehérvár because Budapest was too expensive – and I’m so glad I did. The Mercure is in a charming old building right at the entrance to the beautiful historic old town. The hotel itself is a bit old-school: small beds, but clean rooms. What really makes the difference is the outstanding breakfast, incredibly kind and attentive staff, and the amazing pillows (I need to find out where to buy them!).

The location couldn’t be better – step outside and you’re in the middle of a vibrant pedestrian zone full of cafés, bars, shops, and life.
The city has a rich history and a great atmosphere, but hardly any tourists – for the first time in Hungary, I heard Hungarian all around me, and I loved it (I love learning different languages, but 🇭🇺 is really difficult).

Both the hotel and the city are little treasures you might otherwise overlook. I’m happy I didn’t.

The old stately hotel changed into an Accor Mercure and created some expectations that in my view it doesn't meet yet. Little was done to upgrade the hotel it looks like. The room is clean and has all basic needs, but the room has a moldy smell. The air exchange is not very good and despite my airing morning and evening there is condensation on the windows that nobody removes. The bed is good, but the room still has carpet that has been there for a while. No power socket next to the bed, a lamp that is blinding above it. The hotel itself has a lot of space, but it gives it a very "cold" feeling. "The bar" seems it was placed in the corridor by mistake and is very uninviting - not to mention the decision to close it at 21:00, the time when most people in the hotel come back from the restaurant and may want to have a drink before going to bed. The hotel claims "a gym" which turned out to be a dark "dimly lit" windowless room under the roof with some rusted 60's machines in there.... Mercure??? Hope some things will change soon.

Air conditioning is poor, parking underground is insane,
No porter to help with luggage.
Received our first room with strong chemical smell could not even unpack.
But at least they gave us an other room.
Restaurant bfast was excellent

This is a good hotel for the location. The breakfast is good and the service was friendly. The rooms are dated and mine had a single bed. While I was ok with this some people might be put off.
