Hotels in Tapolca

Great place with plenty of activities for kids, but also relaxing for the adults

Do not have any high expectations- this hotel property is very basic. There has not been one single improvement, enhancement or update since the property was built to any of the common areas the Carpet is thread bare and stained. The balcony exterior is all in terrible condition and the entire hotel requires painting, New carpet & complete updating. Upon entry to the hotel we were greeted by a very...

Nice hotel a little bit dated, good with smaller kids. Food is lovely but no free water with the meals. No kettle or complementary coffee in the rooms

The location of the hotel is perfect. Very children friendly. Staff are very warm hearted 4 minutes walkable to the city center. The sauna facilities is very new and maintained good. The hotel room is a bit small but they offer extra bed. Staff are very friendly. The reception is very helpful and thanks to them. I got the limited Lake Cave boat tour ticket. The playground is free and the paid mini...

The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. Excellent wellness facilities including a cave for therapeutic relaxation. Good choice of food and plenty of it. Love this place.

Fantastic hotel. It's the kind of hotel that might not look the most modern or newest but it has that old-school type of service and amenities that make it the best experience you can have. Highly recommended!

The rooms are definitely not soundproofed as it’s written . Heard some noise from the ceiling room. Wellness is quite good, but very small. Rooms are bit outdated. Need to get refurbished. I found a FLY in my soup during dinner, but no one really cared. “It happens”, they said. 😀. Anyway the food wasn’t really good, meat was dry every evening. Over all, it was ok, but not recommend to anyone. Maybe...

Comfortable hotel near the lake with pool and other thermal facilities.

Service was pretty much fine. Dinner was really good. The hotel room itself wasnt anything special, have slept in a lot comfier beds. There also was some screeking noise coming from the top of our room during the evening.

Long weekend Hotel is nicely located in Badacsony. Close to the lake and ship station. Many restaurants and coffee shops are close.

We loved our two night stay at Bonvino. The hotel is very conveniently located a short distance from the train and bus stations and near plenty of wineries. The spa was clean and relaxing. The food spreads for breakfast and dinner were excellent and beautifully presented. I would return.

The hotel is ok, but compared to other hotels at the Balaton, it’s got room for improvement. The room wasn’t really clean with hairs in the shower and next to the sink. No drinks in the mini bar and snacks wasn’t exactly inviting. The breakfast was really nice, but the evening meal was not appetising at all due to all the meats being very dry. All in all, the hotel is fine for the price.

Very cozy place ! Feels like home a bit, very nice hosts :)

Great hosts, amazing localization, tasty breakfast! Few minutes away from the beach. We also recommend visiting a city nearby- Keszthely! Ps. The lady host has a great musical taste :)

Exceptional Very good location The owners were very friendly, and helpfull. Everywhere on the property you can see the owners touch. They took care of every detail to make clients enjoy their vacation

At a beautiful location close to the beach a lovely hotel with extremely friendly staff. Definitely will come back again.

Very nice accomodation and a family-like atmosfere. Amenities include breakfast, parking, Air conditioning, TV, mini-refrigerator, etc. Host (Mrs.Agnes) is friendly and helpful, with insightful hints about restaurants or places to visit. Enjoy and have fun!!

Nice place..(+):guarded parking for motorcycles,beautiful garden,club room,solid breakfast,helpful owners,close to center town and beach..(-):too small room for two,unpleasant linen,a bit disassembled bathroom,after 09.pm no restaurant arround..

Nice room Gate-closed parking. Entrance to Balaton beach included in the rate. Balcony with lake view. Ok breakfast.

Great food, kind service, excellent wellness capability.

The maintenance guy Stepsz was really top of his game, help me out with very odd requests Well done!!!

The hotel location is pretty good. Staff speaks German as well. The rooms are very clean but could use a 21st century update. Unfortunately the towel policy is a bit odd. We got one medium sized towel for the whole stay and a literal table cloth for the pool/sauna which was absolutely useless, after asking we did not receive another towel we could use for the pool/sauna area. If we knew about that...

Very nice people, clean room and great food.

The room is only 3 stars but the dinner is royal! The hospitality perfect and the park is nice. There is inside pool which is also good.

A fantastic stay! Everything is perfect! I was with two children! I highly recommend

We have visited the Hotel several times, every visit was a pretty satisfying experience. Nice hotel with fantastic view about 500 metres from the Lake Balaton, helpful and flexible staff, wonderful dishes, a huge and perfect wellness centre.

Didn't have much breakfast, overall it's just average, under renovation

Beautiful hotel, fantastic location, nice and clean wellness area. Staff were friendly and professional. The restaurant food was pretty decent too.

Nice hotel on a small hill with wonderful view! Close to the lake Balaton and nice regions around the Balaton! Wellness area small and nice, only the whirlpool didnt work. Opening times a bit to short or difficult to manage with dinner time. Rooms nice and clean, comfortable bed, balcony or terrace and big bathroom. Restaurant with nice view! The terrace is lovely to sit outside. But unfortunately...

We stayed here for three nights. There were two good things about this hotel - the view from the balcony was amazing and the kitchen was great! To the kitchen I would give 5* actually. Delicious. Spa zone could be better: only 3 saunas (infra sauna, Finn sauna and steam room). The steam room didn’t work well. Staff could be nicer and more professional. They say that this hotel is 4*Superior, but I...

Very clean rooms, Helpful stuff, Food is great, Playroom for children and pools are very nice

It was complete wellness for the whole family, everyone found something they to enjoy in fantastic surroundings. The service and the friendliness of the staff are excellent, and the food is also great. I highly recommend it for families with children of all ages, but it's also a great place to relax without kids.

We had a fantastic pre-Christmas family stay at Wellness Hotel Katalin. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, perfect for a relaxing holiday. Our children enjoyed the pools, while we truly appreciated the wellness facilities, especially the sauna and jacuzzi. The food deserves special praise: the buffet offered an impressive variety of high-quality dishes and amazing desserts. The staff were kind...

We just spent a lovely weekend at Hotel Katalin, and enjoyed every single minute of it. The staff was always welcoming and kind to us, always ready to help out or answer any of our questions. We really enjoyed using the check-in machine in the F&B area, too. The staff there was super professional, always checking on us and making sure everything was delicious and alright, while being polite and respectful...

The atmosphere was perfect. The rooms were large, bright, and clean. The staff was very kind , as usual. Good value for money. Although we were with three children, the rooms are soundproof, so we did'nt disturb the other guests. :)

We had such a great time that we’re already talking about returning! Everything about the place made our stay so wonderful. The cleanliness is outstanding. You can tell they really care about keeping the hotel spotless. Our room, the hallways, and especially the wellness area were all in perfect condition. The wellness section itself is fantastic, many warm pools, there is even a separate area for...

Price reflects the standard of the room so don’t expect too much. Strange smell inside but clean. Comfy mattress and nice view from balcony. There’s kitchen (small) in the room but neither cutlery nor dishes. It’s great that they have swimming pool and jacuzzi.

Bug no good, breakfast very nice tho hats of to the shefs

Kakadu hotel is situated in a quiet piece of town. There is a gas-station approximately 100-150 meters away. The personnel was very nice and they spoke German and English. Breakfest is buffet type and I found it tasty. I can only recommend this hotel.

Ideal Place to spend a few days with your family close to Balaton Lake. Super friendly staff, very good service for families with small children

It's a very rare case, when I haven't to say any bad word. Actually, I want to thank all the hotel staff and the hotel owners, who provided excellent service and made our trip amazing. Very kind, direct and supportive people, who do their job excellent way. You don't see any stupid pathos, don't hear any formal hypocritical phrases, but you constantly feel that you are really welcome and that these...

A bit of a time travel to the late 90's. (+ broadband internet over WiFi). Not up to the latest developments, yet very friendly and comfortable space to stay. Decent wellness features, indoor and outside pool, a jacuzzi, not overly huge, but sufficient. The Libás-strand is in like 10 minutes walk, the port and promenade of Keszthely is approx. minutes. The diner is pre-selected from two menus for the...

If it didn't cost a night in this guesthouse, how much it costed, I would say that it's a great guesthouse, but considering the high price, it's not worth it. The walls are very thin, every night someone will disturb you, and since there is no one at the reception at 10 pm, you have nowhere to complain. The breakfast was below average, the rooms could have been better equipped, bed was super unconfortable...

Awesome place. Kind service, typical bed and breakfast service. You can count on lots of add ons. Wellnes, pools (small) but enough to cool down, table tennis, snooker, sauna, bicycles. 10 min to Balaton beach(paid). Lots of restaurants nearby. Very good place to stay for a rest or a transit stop. Highly recommended for Google communitiy

Wonderful guesthouse with great service. We had a wonderful holiday, in the guesthouse you can not be bored. Pools, wellness, billiards, table tennis, playground. Breakfast great, many kinds of bread, cold cuts, cheese, yoghurt, muesli etc. Coffee, tea, milk hot and cold, juices. The guesthouse is located near the pier and near the city centre. Parking directly at the guesthouse. We will definitely...

Amazing place to stay with extremely nice And helpful staff (thanks for everything Tímea, Andras, Denis). Very clean, nicely decorated rooms, possibilities to play table tennis, billiiard, use jacuzzi, sauna, pools. Very good location close to Balaton, close to many restaurants. We can only recommend this place to Everyone :) once again thanks a lot for everything And see you soon :)

Nice rooms, well maintained, nice service, good breakfast.

Nice big room close to the central kind staff and good breakfast

Moritz is a great host! The place is very cozy and the street is quiet. It is quite uniquely and nicely decorated. There is some great house wine near the reception in the fridge (free)

This guest house is perfectly located in a quiet street just walking distance from the lake. The owner is incredibly friendly and will go above and beyond to make his guests happy. I would definitely stay here again, and Guest House Moritz is highly recommended.

They do not accept credit cards, so be prepared. The rooms are spacious and nice, but with no AC (they have blinds though). The shower is clean, but could do with a bit of renewal. The TV is only in Hungarian. The place overall is nice, in a quiet part of town. Good breakfast, tea, coffee, juice, bacon, eggs, ham, cheese, salami, cereals, jams, milk - only cold stuff, some hot sausages would be good...

A place you'd like to return. Very peaceful. Very friendly and helpful staff. Not far from the beach and a bit more distance to the town center and palace.

Perfect place for staying one night while cycling around the lake, nice rooms with bathrooms, comfy beds and a very rich breakfast.

Decent place, furniture and rooms are kinda old but clean. Front desk clerk was very polite and eager to help.

nature friendly hotel. free wifi, but no air conditioning system, small toilet, lots of insects.....:(

Very pleasant English speaking staff, specially the owner Sanyi (read as Shanyi). The hotel is on the Lake with well kept loan and ladder to enter the Balaton lake. Walking distance are shops, bars and restaurants. I saw signs of a night club not far. The breakfast is good. The rooms are basic. So is the price. Excelent choice for the money.

Love the hot jacuzzi and pool. Location wise is about 30mins walk to 'town' and attractions, 8mins to train station. Nearest restaurant is about 8-10mins walk. Everything was good, including my second night, the table lamp suddenly light up in the middle of the night around 1am. I called reception and the girl said technician needed an hour to come. However she came up to check and mange to off...

The hotel exceeded our expectations, our room was clean, comfortable and had a lake view. The staff was kind and professional, especially Georgina, who helped us find an excellent room after the first one they assigned us only had a partial view of Lake Balaton. The SPA was also great, but what really impressed us was the abundance of varied, special and delicious foods. I would rank the culinary experience...

Fantastic spa, excellent service. Immaculately and spotlessly clean

Brett and Lilla are Always very happy with our stay at hotel helikon the food is always great and so is the facility’s and the pleasant staff except for one low life who yelled at me for bringing my own drink to the dining room table but since I’m rich and he is working poor I acted like an adult and let it go even though I could have ruined his life because this is the American way he’s lucky I wasn...

This was our 2 nd time staying in July Brett and Lilla we had such a great time again breakfast and dinner was excellent again and the staff were super friendly and helpful as usual dont wait to book your stay here rooms get sold out very very quickly and this is one of the best hotels at lake Balaton

Lovely stag Really enjoyed my stay here. It’s a lovely hotel with great amenities but not pretentious. Good food, lovely view from the lake view room and staff were proficient and friendly. Would stay again

We stayed one night. Room was clean. Staff were friendly. Room was small but for only one night it was all we needed.

I’d like to compliment the young man who was at the reception that evening. He was very helpful, reliable, and pleasant — he really did his best.

Positive: - The food is great - The location is very good, around 5 minute walk to Lake Balaton - The staff is very kind and helpful and speaks English well Negative: - Even with full board, drinks are not included at lunch or dinner, not even water - The spa is not very well maintained, and the jacuzzi is fine only if you’re the only person in the whole spa - The water pressure in the bathroom...

Nice, comfortable rooms. Good service.

Nice, clean and spacious room. Very good food. I recommend.

Hungarian twist Friendly people, clean room, decent breakfast, problematic night light

I had an extremely pleasant stay at this hotel! The rooms are recently renovated. The hotel grounds are green, well-maintained, and create a cozy, peaceful atmosphere — perfect for relaxation. Breakfasts are very tasty and filling — there’s something for everyone. The staff is friendly and attentive. The only slight inconvenience might be carrying heavy luggage up to the second floor, as there is...

Decent but better hotels available. Food not that great at the hotel. Pool was fine, best part was the jacuzzi and sauna.

The staff were exceptional. Now Balaton lake is a very pretty area - the villages along the shore are beachside resorts. We went on a sporting weekend and we understand that this really was the last weekend of the tourist season before restaurants and hotels start closing for winter. We arrived about 1am in the morning as our flight was delayed. Parking on site was secure. The hotel staff had made...

When we came it was quiet because families already left. It is family friendly, so if you look for quite holiday ask the property for the right time.

The breakfast buffet was good. Close to the lake. Clean rooms, very nice owner. Parking on property and the gates are closed over night.

Andrew old-time charming holiday hotel. Good breakfast. Easy to muddy and reedy but of lake. Long walk to restaurants but pleasant under the moon (less so under heavy rain!)

The hotel is very close to the local strand, has its own restaurant and also has several restaurants in the vecinity. It was a good choice for one night, as we were passing by. We had a rich breakfast. There is also the possibility to have lunch or dinner, menu a la carte, a bar is also on place. The mosquitos really bothered us during our evening walk and on the balcony.

very good restaurant a kind waiter served us even though it was very late, great gulasz

Food was decent, the beach was close. Thats all you need

Very nice people nice ,good food and Ballaton was great and it's not deep ideal for kids as long as they stay near the shore line in places where they have made beaches

Very nice hotel, we stayed for 9 days on a seminar. Clean, good food, nice people. Really recommend.

Arrived in the heat after a long day in the saddle. Bike parked in the gazebo shade. Greeted with a nice welcome and told if we're out late to use a different door so we can still get in. Very helpful. Great price. Room was large, airy and had a fantastic balcony with a really nice view. An easy walk to the lake and so many places to eat. Awesome in hotel breakfast.

Comfortable accommodation with many services. The staff is kind and helpful. There are many restaurants, entertainment venues, services, commercial units in the area and the (free) beach is not too far away.

Today, July 26, 2025, my wife and I arrived at the Arkánum Hotel in Balatonmáriafürdő – and I can already say for sure: it surpasses all our previous hotel experiences! The service is perfect – every dish is fresh, tasty and plentiful. The surroundings are beautiful and spotlessly clean, with attention to every detail. The room is modern, comfortable and has everything you could possibly need. The...

Elegantly tidy, clean and pleasant place. The staff is very kind and polite.

Simple hotel, very friendly staff. Everything was very clean. Pool with sauna and steam bath. Breakfast ok. Rooms are air-conditioned. So the windows can stay closed and you can't hear the train. Simple rooms with TV and fridge.

We were satisfied with everything. The staff was very kind and direct, the room met all our needs. The hotel is in a frequented location, close to the beach. We were also able to store our bike in a safe, closed place. We look forward to seeing you again!

Rooms clean, comfortable and very functional. Reception staff very helpful and speak English. Good location. Car parking on side streets, but no problem and free No laundry on site but one recommended

Full equiped room in a quiet neighborhood. Very clean. Free access to the sauna in the garden. Great choise for visiting Keszthely and the lake Balaton.

Short stay We stayed 2 nights, the location was excellent, breakfast was good, sadly the wifi was not good at all on the 2nd floor. I would recommend to friends just update the wifi for thr future please.

The service was polite and caring. The hotel is a really charming country house vibe. We went with my family and they upgraded our room to bigger one than we originally had. All and all pleasent suprise. The pictures of the hotel are old on the webside. They had nice clean white sheets and the room was clean. They didnt had built in air conditioner but they had a fan in the our room that kept the room...

Spacious rooms and good beds in a sleepy area. There is a cafe and restaurant close, but hours of operation may vary. Short walk to the lake, parks, or center of town. More comfortable furniture than many resorts of this type.

Luxury in a quiet but central location Great location, no more than 15 mins walk from the station, just 5 into the historic centre. I was advised I'd be staying in an annexe over the road, often being put in a separate building means a run down place for budget visitors but I was amazed!! This was like a suite with giant comfortable bedroom and attached bathroom & kitchenette looking out onto a garden...

Rezeption sehr freundlich. Frühstück ok. Zimmer super.

It's a fair hotel with a fair price. I'd like to see that there's available WiFi in the hotel rooms but I wasn't so lucky.

The only disadvantage of this place is location, but not if you are driving by and have to stay for a night. Good breakfast, big room with mini kitchen, quiet place, friendly staff. All this for 48 eur.

Very nice hotel. Good breakfast. Recomend

The lady owner welcomed us willingly, even though I made a reservation for one night by phone at 6 p.m. We slept with 2 children in the 80s family room. The staff is very kind and helpful, the breakfast satisfies all needs. Lake Balaton is a 3-minute walk away. I strongly recommend the place, even for those arriving with small children! 😉

Great location, perfect place *****. Prapere You For Digitalisation/Future https://cutt.ly/bb_referal_smh Thanx to Chief & Company, we will be back

Lovely place, close to the lake (2 min by walk) bar and restaurants, homemade and genuine food for breakfast( lot of choice ),clean rooms with comfortable beds and very helpfull and kind management. Definitely the best choice in the area.

The hosts are so nice, friendly and polite! Wonderful house, views and amazing breakfests! Great place for all family - we will back :)

Wonderful location Wonderful people is the best pension on Lake Balaton ♥ ️

The boarding house was the venue for a class meeting (40 years old). Everything went very well.

We went on a 3-day mini holiday with my family to Heviz. The hotel was nice. My son loved the swimming pools and we loved the saunas. Breakfast was very good with lots of options. The hotel was at a good location, at the heart of the town centre.

BOTH THE LOCATION AND SERVICE IS BEYOND EXPECTATIONS, GREAT BREAKFAST TOO

The hotel closes at 8pm. No staff are onsite after that. You are supposed to receive a text with instructions to a lock box. I arrived 7.45pm. Staff had gone home early and the manager "forgot" to text me the lock box code. Manager did not answer the emergency phone, ******* tried to contact the hotel, no answer to their team either. Fortunately another couple arrived and I gained admittance. A quick...

It's ok for a couple of nights + Modern, spacious and clean rooms + Good Wi-Fi connection + Decent breakfast + SPA and related amenities - No gym - There was the reconstruction work on my floor, so someone drilled from time to time - unacceptable attitude

The hotel is located right on the main boulevard, very close to cafés and restaurants, which makes it convenient and lively. However, if you arrive after 7:00 PM, check-in can be complicated since the reception closes, so it’s better to arrive earlier. Also, note that the hotel has no private parking , you need to use the paid parking lot next door. Although the name suggests shopping, most of the...

Friendly and helpful stuff, delicious breakfast, cosy spa, lovely area with shops and café nearby. Parking lot right behind the main building, for an additional charge. Spacious and quiet room. The thermal lake of Hévíz is 10 mins walking distance away.
