Very comfortable and central 3 star hotel. Check in time is fairly strictly adhered to in summer although they gave us our room half an hour early and were happy to store luggage. A good basic breakfast buffet.

Check-in lasted 1.5 hours, and the room with two extra beds for children was not available. By the time the issue was solved, all restaurants were closed (22:00). After an 8-hour trip, we had no dinner, no snacks, and not even bottled water available. The room was on the second floor, very warm because of the roof heat, with no air conditioning, no soap, and no drinking water. Breakfast was disappointing: overripe pineapple, untidy table setting, and even a trash container on the serving table. Check-out is at 10:00, unusually early, though staff allowed a slightly later check-out as a small compensation. Still, I cannot recommend this hotel, at least not with breakfast included.

We stayed for one night, the room was on the second floor. We really liked it. The only thing is that the shower is only overhead, and there were no shower caps, which is uncomfortable for guests with long hair.

The best things that I will say is that Heviz is a lovely town, and the man at the front desk was friendly and tried to help as best he could. Perhaps we would have had a better stay if we'd booked at Hotel Kalma instead of their subsidiary Aparthotel Heviz, but our stay at the Aparthotel Heviz was the worst lodging I've had since boot camp, and that's even questionable. It was listed as a one bedroom unit, however the room was so narrow that they couldn't even put two single beds next to one another, so my wife and I were at opposite ends of the room. The first unit they assigned to us wreaked of smoking, so we asked to change rooms and the front desk person gave us a different room that didn't stink, though later someone was smoking in an adjacent room with their door propped open. We complained about that, and it seemed to fix that problem. The room was stifling hot with old outdated furniture. Honestly, I think this place must have been a nursing home or summer camp at some point in time, as it was not laid out like a room or condo, and instead of having a table and chairs, there was a counter that bordered the wall of the entire main room. It was stifling hot with no AC and only 2 small fans. We coped with it by being out and about and in the room as little as possible. I still can't believe that RCI offers this place as a timeshare. DO NOT STAY HERE!

We stayed in the Apart Hotel which is an annex to the Kalma one block away. Our room was in the attic with sky lights not windows so the sun baked the room when the temperature reached 95 degrees outside. In an evening we could not open the windows because the restaurant below had loud music until late at night. The bed was two singles pushed permanently together- no good if you wanted space and no good for snuggles. There was not even a bar of soap in the room let alone shower gel. The cooking facilities were basic but adequate. You should definitely visit Heviz but stay somewhere else that has air conditioning and doesn't have the gaul to charge for WiFi.

One night stay, simple room, but comfortable and very close to the lake which is the reason for our visit. Very nice breakfast. Restaurant available on premises which was great for dinner. The town is sweet, I wish we stayed longer.

We were in Hévíz a city with natural peat-bedded warm-water lake, unique in Europe. Unfortunately, we proved to be unworthy of it, because we were found to be a Hungarian, intellectual family with small children, and not the expected, say, lower middle-class, older, preferably foreign, sample guest. The 3 stars proved to be a lot of things in the hotel, as did the holiday rating above 8, which was advertised as kid-friendly. Computer frozen on arrival. A long, growling line. Then a broken, closed garage door. Quarrelsome people, the arriving mechanic told my son that he was a dick hat. He then denied this to the reception manager, who said the thing wasn't even said, the mechanic was his friend, the normal man. So we don't, we lie. But he still waived the parking fee for one car. Anyway, we could learn to behave, if we paid 35,000 HUF per night and did not come here with a timeshare, we would appreciate this place: "It is not mandatory to come here, go to camping instead." Maybe he was right, because it doesn't happen in the tent that the couch in the quadruple room can't be opened, so there's no need to change rooms with half-sleeping little kids around 9 p.m., and my other son don't have to ask for another room because of the unbearable sewer odor emanating from the drain. Or the cleaning aunt doesn't explode into the little ones she's just put to sleep at two o'clock on a Sunday afternoon, screaming to take the trash. The conclusion must be drawn: never again Kalma hotel!

The staff were unhelpful. Customer service does not appear to be in their vocabulary. We purchased a package including Dinner on Christmas on 25th December. Dinner was poor, options were not explained. The desert pancakes were too salty, Prices and options were not explained properly. The underground parking was so narrow so that my car needed to have been on a diet to fit into the spaces. Breakfast was advertised for 08.30 but it was not ready till 08.45. We were told that the Sauna and whirlpool bath would be available form 09.00 but at 09.15 we had to ask for the Sauna to be turned on and when we asked when the whirlpool bath would be turned on we were told "we don't know". Overpriced, ordinary Hotel in an already expensive overpriced town.

Nice and clean apartments in the center of Heviz, short walking distance to the thermal lake. Reasonable price.
