We were sent a key code for the room key, and upon entering the room we were met with a horrible stench clearly coming from the sewer. My wife is currently pregnant and sensitive to smells and there js no way we could have stayed in that room.
We tried to reach out to them to see if we could switch rooms. There is a sign to use the “free phone” to call them for any assistance… but no phone. Calling the number, nobody picked up.
Since we booked with Expedia, we messaged them instead - their agents also tried contacting staff with no luck and eventually escalated to the relocation team which refunded our booking and helped us find another place.
That whole process took about 2 hours, during which multiple Expedia folks made additional attempts to reach staff and failed.
Other guests mentioned their room smelling “funny” as well, so I’m not sure if switching rooms would have solved the problem either.
I’d recommend not ruining your vacation by picking from any of the neighboring places - the location is stunning (as other reviews have mentioned).
The worst in my trip. I can’t contact the guesthouse by phone almost 3 hours. Waiting for whom pick up a call.
There is noone sending me a message of password of keybox. Even in textbox or in email. We try to call by phone no. as they post on the door. However, finally no-one pick up a call then we contact trip.com. As trip said the owner said there is on-one called them. At the end the owner send someone to open the door. But sadly, that is the one whom we have asked how to checkin before. 😢
If you're unlucky enough to have to check in there, make sure to keep calling and messaging the email address in the picture. There's a high chance they’ll reply via email. At least, me and three other groups get the reply and check in from this stupid service.
First no email, then no response/ communication, terrible cell service, and phone number doesn't work. Overall terrible management.
We had a nice stay at Guesthouse Edinberg, room was clean, upstairs had refrigerator, kitchen with sink and stove top, comfortslve couches tables and chairs and an old galaxy game, no quarters needed. We needed code to get into our room which was provided to us in the message section of our hotel app. The listing says it would be emailed to us but that is where I found it. There were several other people arriving that did not receive their access code which caused a lot of stress. There is no reception desk at this property and no one answers the phone number provided. If this issue can be resolved it would have a much higher rating
