Simple cottage with hot spring at the reception area. Kitchen was well equipped and managed to cook some food. However, heater in the room was not too strong. We were quite cold as the temperature dipped the night we were there. We managed to catch the aurora right from our room windows! That was only because the location was great and no light pollution around.

We saw the aurora borealis when we arrived. Make sure to arrive at this hotel early, as the front desk isn't open 24 hours. After watching the aurora for a while, we quickly checked in because the staff were about to leave. Before they leave, check if the heating is warm enough; if not, adjust the temperature while they're still there.

The people working for the place were kind and friendly. However the owner was insane. They keep reiceving the customers even though there was serious problem in the room 4, 5 and 6 where the floor heating was not working at all.
You have to pay extra money to avoid the room 4, 5 and 6 otherwise just get the cold feet for the cold room.

This is an absolute gem. As soon as you enter you feel as though you are coming home. The room was cozy, and the bathroom was sparkling clean. The views were spectacular from every window. The breakfast that was included was amazing. There was something to satisfy all tastes, from fresh bread, cold meats, skyr and cereal, eggs, sausage and bacon. What a feast we enjoyed while sipping coffee and watching the horses through the window. I only wish we had booked a longer stay!

The location is good for the northern lights and Landmannalaugar.
The host was kind.
However the room 4, 5 and 6 have a problem with heating. The floor never gets warm.

Location not convenient but however if you want a quite place, this is the best option. The staff were nice and friendly.

Very cozy hotel. You can see the northern lights right at the door of the hotel. The staff are very enthusiastic and will ask if you need help. We arrived very late that day and check-in was very smooth!

Very clean! Beautiful surroundings! However location is a drive from any shops or activities. Also, you aren’t allowed to wear shoes inside the building. Limited amount of skippers available.
