I liked this hotel/hostal. It's more affordable than any other hotel/hostal in the area and you can eat breakfast and dinner here. The breakfast doesn't really fill you up, but the dinner does a good job. Clean towels are given out every day and wifi is also free. Sometimes the staff makes your bed too. Staff is also very friendly. Sink water tastes a little gross, so it's best that you buy water...

An okay stay, rooms are big, breakfast is good and the staff is friendly. Although it's more like a hostel, we stayed here 2 night, they didnt came in to room to clean after the first night, we had no private bathroom and the hot water has a weird smell (?). An okay stay

Friendly helpful staff, average but clean rooms. Shared bathroom and shower were not the cleanest. Every door in the building slams into the frame/wall and sounds like falling boulders. Nearly impossible to navigate quietly at night.

I have to say that the building and its location are just beautiful! Our room had very low ceilings and getting to the bed I had to bend over and cracked my head a couple times! But I'm sure that's not the case in every room. The only other thing was that the breakfast was nice, but the eating space was very tight for the number of people.

This place is fine. It's not a good value- small rooms, no amenities, not much nearby, no toiletries aside from a shampoo/body wash bottle. The location is beautiful, surrounded by scenery. The setting in the mountains was beautiful. While the room was adorable, quite unique, the beam in the ceiling of the room was quite low. I hit my head on it a few times!

The building is unique and very comfortable, the location was a bit hard to find in the dark but easy to get to and the roads were in good shape. The service was substandard, especially the breakfast room and staff. Our stay here was okay, mostly thanks to the great location right next to Skogafoss. It was great to be able to visit the waterfall first thing in the morning. That said, the room had a noticeable sewer smell, and the water pressure and temperature in the shower left a lot to be desired. While the room was clean, the overall experience could have been better.

This is a good place to rest after a long drive. It is within 5 minutes walking distance to the waterfall so very convenient. Skogafoss hotel and restaurant is a stopover for travelers on the southwestern 🇮🇸 Icelandic sightseeing route. Beautiful small hotel , modern design , beautiful . The restaurant is always crowded. If you arrive late, you are very lucky to find a table. Otherwise, buying food to take away is also not a bad choice. The food here is delicious, fresh, and very tasty.

Awesome burger. The Viking Burger and side salad were both amazing. Great views of the waterfall and this is a nice spot to stop as there aren’t many other options for a great meal.

The food was surprisingly great there. Ordered the local burger and was definitely impressed, especially given the quality of some of the food in other areas of Iceland. The views while eating lunch we're great too. Service was friendly and wuick. Would highly recommend eating here.

We really enjoyed our stay at Umi Hotel and would highly recommend it. The private black sand beach was incredible. We had it all to ourselves in the morning and it was one of our favorite highlights from our one week trip. Definitely take the 10-15 minute walk from the hotel over to it! This could be the most expensive hotel in our Iceland trip. Anyway it's great as expect. The hotel is great, we like the decoration and the room. Breakfast is good too. Staff can wake us up if there is a northlight available, good service. Furthermore, you can enjoy taking a photo around the hotel, very good landscape view.

I had my wedding here Oct. 13th of this year. To be honest, I planned my entire wedding around this hotel. Just loved this place! Beautifully located and with really nice restaurant. Don’t miss taking the short walk down to the black lava sand beach. We walked down in the morning and caught the sunrise, all by ourselves - a truly unique experience!

It’s fine - nothing inspiring. A few minor irritations like no shower curtain in bathroom. Dinner was very good (the insanely expensive bread basket was probably the best bread we had in Iceland!). This was absolutely perfect for hiking one of the most beautiful hikes in the world, the fimmvörðuháls trail! This place is a hikers paradise! You can camp, stay in a hut, cook yourself ot go to the restaurant. The breakfast is very tasty. Friendly people, good company, we enjoyed our stay here. But your enjoyment here comes from being outdoors during the day.

This place was amazing! My boyfriend and I stayed here for 1 night at the end of May 2022 and it was the highlight of our trip. We had a glamping tent which was super cute, and the hospitality was awesome! They had food, beer, wine, showers — pretty much everything you need. Plus, there are so many amazing hikes nearby.

Great rustic cabin in the Thorsmork hiking range. Plenty of food and drink options, though the prices are steeper than inland. Not a lot of choice out there, but even if you're not purchasing the grounds are worth seeing

Lovely place for a couple and a nice view. Even better view if you get a cottage in the first of the two rows. Has got a kitchen, tv, table, clean toilet, shower and a big bed. Parking is also possible. Water in the heater makes noises while heating up the room. Shower is moderate warm. Kitchen has no basic ingedrients like oil. Other apartments with a kitchen offer this and cost less.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay here. Having a stocked kitchenette was great and saved us a lot of money by not having to eat out. The setting was also beautiful. Minus a star because the bathroom drainage wasn't very good so the floor was constantly wet, we weren't provided with hand towels, and we stayed for 3 nights but our trash was never emptied so it was stuffed by the time we checked out

Hotel is perfectly located in a quite area. Spectacular views of the mountains and nearby ocean. The large windows are perfect for seeing the sun rise and set everyday. It's a decent guesthouse but can accommodate 9 people at once (busy season). The pancakes are good as everyone mentioned but the dining table accommodates only 6-7 people at once, so you might have to await your turn for breakfast. And the pancakes shall turn cold by then 😐 ... Also, the beds aren't the most cozy but you put up with all of this because Iceland provides very few stay options anyway

Sigga was a wonderful host and fun to talk to! Her home is very cozy, despite being able to fit a number of people. She has 2 very sweet dogs and prepares a wonderful breakfast for everyone. I would definitely recommend staying at her guest house!

I don’t understand 3.6 rating. For a guesthouse it was great. It’s not a hotel you have to expect to share bathrooms (which were lovely). Hot tub outside was fantastic. Breakfast very tasty and we were even given pancakes for lunch. Couple who were looking after the property were really friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended.

Pleasant guesthouse with friendly and helpful owner who invited us to have dinner with her (and it was a very good dinner too). Bedroom was comfortable - a bit small but there is a large and elegant lounge room available for the use of guests so this was absolutely no problem. Judging by our experience there is no way this deserves the one-star rating a couple of users have given.

Writing this review is not so easy, as the lovely and very welcoming owner Sigga take reviews very personally. This is the house of her family and her "sacred place". She even mentioned, that she won't open the guesthouse next season because of the reviews ... However, the furniture is rather old and the beds have innerspring mattresses. It can get crowded in the guesthouse's three shared bathrooms...

My friends and I went to Diamond beach, it was night, the wind was blowing hard and we parked the car in front of this house. The owner of the house came to our car and invited us to enter the house, we stayed for free. Every recommendation for this man, the house is clean, the bathroom is clean, everything is ok.

One of the landmark waterfall of Iceland. Compared to the other waterfalls in northern area such Godafoss, Dettifoss, Selfos etc it has clear water. Don’t forget to hike up to see it from the top, too

Fantastic location, close to famous Golden Circle sites like the Skógafoss waterfall, the Sólheimajökull glacier and the Sólheimasandur plane wreck. The room is on par with hostels.

A bit of a surprise that the kitchen and bathroom facilities were shared. However the bedroom was spacious for 4 and the view was spectacular.

The property reeks and hot water runs out quick . Outside view is breathtaking and attractions are very accessible.

Cute area snuggled in a valley. Northern lights danced behind the mountain. Check in was very easy. Room was simple and efficient. Unfortunately a strong sewer smell was the first thing you notice as you walk in. If you kept the bathroom door closed in the bedroom the smell lightened almost unnoticable.
