This place - just Ticks all the boxes.
Spot on location that sets you off for beet start ato any direction. Beautifully placed, conveniently close to the main road but far enough to be quiet and peaceful. Fantastic, tasty and all-you-need breakfast. Simple but very comfortable rooms, very comfy beds and good space in the room.
And the Staff are made of stars and they’d shine your stay all the way - helpful, quick, super friendly and professional.
I stayed there twice on each visit to Iceland and I’ll be back for sure next time on!
Ps and they Do Know where the best Aurora spots and times are and this you buy for no money!!
Come around and check for Yourself, Drangshild Inn will not let you down!

Overpriced. More like a Motel. Simple and clean. But: I didn’t get much sleep. Everything’s noisy. The heating system woke me up all night, making loud banging noises. When the first guests leave early, everything gets loud. And: minimal facilities. For such a remote location, it can get quite boring after dark.

The food was great, but unfortunately the rooms were very disappointing. The walls are not soundproof at all I could hear babies crying, doors slamming, and constant echoing from other rooms. There was also a repetitive clicking sound inside my room that continued for hours and became more noticeable in the silence of the night. In addition, the room itself felt worn and poorly maintained, and the overall atmosphere was uncomfortable rather than restful. Even small details, like inconsistent temperature and general noise from the hallway, added to the frustration. Because of this, I sadly cannot recommend staying here.

We stayed overnight in this beautiful inn as part of our multi day tour package. The location is like in the middle of nowhere but wonderful open area perfect for star gazing
Rooms are small but good for 2 people. Rooms are decent, clean and comfortable however the shower area and toilet area are divided only by a shower curtain. They also have a beautiful breakfast area overlooking the hills. The reception area has a cozy sofa to hang around.

Room is very basic. No tv. No phone. Warm. Amenities are very basic. Stopped here one night with tour. Clean. Area around hotel is beautiful. Mountains and sheep are pleasant to see.

Room was not as represented in photo. Photo shows two beds, sitting area and nicely updated. We booked a small double. Our room has two beds, barely fits our luggage and two adults. Photos attached. We have one plug and currently trying to charge our electronics for two people and camera batteries with this one plug. Fully aware Iceland can be costly however, the amount paid for the room we should have stayed down the road where we stayed on a previous trip and had a real room with a real bathroom and more than one plug.

This place is simple but lovely, and the only reason it doesn't have a perfect rating from me is largely due to factors outside of the hotel's control (mainly location - there's nothing around, and you need to drive everywhere). The instructions for self-check in were clear and the process was smooth. The beds in the room could easily be pushed together for couples, or kept separate. We did have to squeegee the shower after each use, but everything was always clean. The included breakfast had more variety than I expected, including some homemade bread options. The common space was large and comfortable, great for my family to meet up every night and debrief the day over hot chocolate/coffee/tea (available 24/7). Although the hotel itself is isolated, the location is actually perfect for exploring nearby waterfalls, and Vik. The cost to stay here was way cheaper than anything I saw in Vik, and it served as an excellent base camp for three days of exploring.

We booked 3 rooms for our family for 2 nights. Our stay was comfortable and clean - no frills, kind of place. The location is convenient for exploring Vík and Skogar, which we used as our 2-day base. Breakfast was great, a nice buffet of everything. We liked that they kept the coffee and tea bar open to enjoy all day and we used the lobby sitting area for playing board games (they have some there) and socializing. Hairdryers are communal, in a basket in the lobby, to use and return. We ate both dinners in VÍk and enjoyed their community swimming pool/hot tub/sauna about $10 usd each. There’s no restaurant currently on-site at the hotel. A few suggestions: add some outdoor furniture to their empty patio outside the front lobby and maybe some picnic tables around the property. They do have beautiful views to take in. Guests would enjoy that! Also, they wanted us to do a self check-in via an email, which we never received. We had to call a # and then wait for someone to come to check-in, since the email didn’t work. In addition, when we checked-out, two women were at the front desk, but didn’t bother to look away from their computer to say goodbye and ensure we had a nice stay, so we just left the key card. Part of traveling and retaining guests is having “a personal touch” aspect to hospitality. Meeting a local, having someone to inquire about suggestions/things to do, makes traveling better. Therefore, removing staff from a desk makes a no frills hotel, even colder. That’s just my opinion.

Very bad experience. Because Trip.com did not send us any room code, even though we had told the hotel that we would arrive after 9pm, the hotel replied that there would be someone there 24 hours a day, but when we arrived, there was no one there!
No one responded to the hotel's method of contacting, and finally we had to make an international call before someone came out to give us the room code!
All the previous contacts did not work, and other people I know, because they booked the hotel on other platforms such as ***********, they all received the room code from the hotel, so I am very disappointed with our platform Trip.com. In the next few days, I will stay in a hotel that is also booked through Trip.com. It can be expected that the same thing will happen again if I don’t get the code and can’t enter the room at night.
This hotel is very simple and plain. There is no TV in the room. It is just a place to sleep. The room is very small and the furniture is old. It looks a bit like a youth hostel. It can’t be called a hotel or a three-star hotel. It’s almost the same as giving it two stars.
The breakfast is really simple and pitiful. I don’t recommend spending money on breakfast! His breakfast timeis only until 9:00. I feel bad waking up so early in the morning to find it expensive and unpalatable!
