Reviews
Spot on location that sets you off for beet start ato any direction. Beautifully placed, conveniently close to the main road but far enough to be quiet and peaceful. Fantastic, tasty and all-you-need breakfast. Simple but very comfortable rooms, very comfy beds and good space in the room.
And the Staff are made of stars and they’d shine your stay all the way - helpful, quick, super friendly and professional.
I stayed there twice on each visit to Iceland and I’ll be back for sure next time on!
Ps and they Do Know where the best Aurora spots and times are and this you buy for no money!!
Come around and check for Yourself, Drangshild Inn will not let you down!
Rooms are small but good for 2 people. Rooms are decent, clean and comfortable however the shower area and toilet area are divided only by a shower curtain. They also have a beautiful breakfast area overlooking the hills. The reception area has a cozy sofa to hang around.
Rooms are modest and straightforward, more about functionality than luxury. They provide the basics for a short stay, but travelers looking for upscale amenities or a boutique hotel experience may find it underwhelming.
Cleanliness and comfort are generally reliable, though some areas of the property could feel a bit dated compared to newer options in the region.
The inn doesn’t offer many frills, so it’s best suited for those who plan to spend most of their time out exploring and just need a practical place to sleep.
Breakfast is sometimes available but not always included, so checking ahead of time is a good idea. Dining options in the immediate area are limited, so planning meals in advance or being ready to drive a short distance is recommended. The best is to bring food you can store in their fridge and prepare in the microwave or stove.
Parking is convenient and free, making it easy for those traveling by car. Staff interactions are usually friendly and helpful, adding a welcoming touch even if the facilities themselves are basic.
Overall, The Drangshlíð Inn is a no-fuss choice for budget-conscious travelers who prioritize location and convenience over luxury. It works well as a base for sightseeing in the South Coast region, but those seeking more comfort or character may prefer other nearby accommodations.
No one responded to the hotel's method of contacting, and finally we had to make an international call before someone came out to give us the room code!
All the previous contacts did not work, and other people I know, because they booked the hotel on other platforms such as ***********, they all received the room code from the hotel, so I am very disappointed with our platform Trip.com. In the next few days, I will stay in a hotel that is also booked through Trip.com. It can be expected that the same thing will happen again if I don’t get the code and can’t enter the room at night.
This hotel is very simple and plain. There is no TV in the room. It is just a place to sleep. The room is very small and the furniture is old. It looks a bit like a youth hostel. It can’t be called a hotel or a three-star hotel. It’s almost the same as giving it two stars.
The breakfast is really simple and pitiful. I don’t recommend spending money on breakfast! His breakfast timeis only until 9:00. I feel bad waking up so early in the morning to find it expensive and unpalatable!
