🌍
Iceland, Hofn, Dynjandi, 781 Hornafjordur, Yuzhnaya Islandiya, Islandiya
● Center: 7 km

Host Inga's exceptional hospitality and helpful local insights were repeatedly praised. Rooms are consistently described as clean, cozy, and warm with private bathrooms. Breakfast includes a unique cake in a glass and is served early upon request. The farm tour with horses and sheep adds a memorable cultural and educational element. Location is appreciated for quiet surroundings close to Höfn and the Ring Road. Some guests noted rooms can be small and tight, especially with luggage. The accommodations are basic and lack a fully equipped kitchen, offering only a microwave. One review mentioned the presence of farm machinery and animals might not suit all visitors.

A wonderful place to stay while heading East on the Ring Road. Inga, the host, quickly sorted out a mix-up with our booking (I booked directly via email per the website, but I'd probably recommend using Booking.com instead). We spent a long time chatting about her farm, the horse industry, and Iceland in general with the other guests over a very nice, hearty breakfast. It was a wonderful way to slow down the pace of our road trip and connect with people. The accommodations are basic and comfortable, and the location is easily accessible off route 1 / minutes from Höfn.

Hands down one of my favourite places to stay during my trip to Iceland. The hostess, Inga, was very friendly the moment we arrived and welcomed my fiancé and I into her home with kindness and excitement. She provided us with all the information that we needed to know for our stay, including rules of the guesthouse, where things were located, and dining recommendations in Hofn, which is only a 10-minute drive from the guesthouse. She showed us where our private room and bathroom were located and allowed us to pick the flavour of the cake that we would have for breakfast the next morning since we were the first of the guests to arrive that day. Although breakfast is usually served at 8:00am the earliest, she was kind enough to have it prepared by 7:30am to allow us to enjoy some of it before getting back on the Ring Road in time for our scheduled glacier hike. Our only regret was not being able to stay longer and meet some of the animals on the farm due to our busy schedule of activities, but we would recommend anyone looking to explore the Hofn area during their trip to Iceland to book a stay at Dynjandi Guesthouse and enjoy Inga's incredible hospitality!

I have no words to describe my stay with Inga. I came as a stranger and left as a friend. She is truly one of the most special people I have ever met and I will be forever grateful that I booked to stay here. Most people have already covered the other things that make this place amazing - the incredible location, breathtaking views, cute animals, and the delicious breakfast cake - but what really brings that spark of magic is the host. She is, quite simply, extraordinary. If you're umm'ing and ahh'ing about whether or not to stay here: just book. You can thank me later.

A lovely stay that I’d choose again over any hotel. I had the pleasure of spending three nights at Dynjandi. Winter storms may have kept me in more than planned but I didn’t mind at all and in large part that is due to Inga being a wonderful host. Room was spacious and still cozy for me, breakfast is good and the location is stunning. I hope to be able to see it again one day.

You stay in a farm with machines and animals around. The room is simple but very clean with private bathroom (each room has its own) separated by a corridor from your room. The breakfast was prepared and served by the owner providing a full explanation about the local specialties on the table. The most relevant and interesting part of our stay was the guided visit of the farm. We received many interesting explanations about Islandic horse - for the first time we heard about their tölt -, about the Islandic culture, churches…, and we benefited of a full guidance for the stops to do on our up-coming road trip to the East. The lady is very friendly and knowledgeable, her explanations are better than reading 10 guides about Island.

Our stay in Dynjandi was quite fine. Inga was a very attentive host, who gave us a lot of good tips on how to spend our time in the area and prepared a great breakfast every day (special mention to the everyday-changing breakfast cakes in a glass).
The room was smaller as expected due to some renovations that were conducted in the house since the pictures were taken. That made it quite tight due to the amount of luggage we had.

We are already missing Inga and the Dynjandi guesthouse - we were here for 2 nights in May! Inga is an amazing host- we learnt so much about the Icelandic lifestyle from her! She was always available to provide sightseeing tips in the mornings after breakfast! Oh, and the breakfast which Inga prepared consisted of this custard-looking like cake in a warm glass - it was so delicious! Will definitely recommend Dynjandi Guesthouse to anyone who needs a place to stay while passing through the area! Thank you Inga!!

Dynjandi was one of the highlights of our trip. It is a working farm with chickens, sheep and a large herd of Icelandic horses. Our host Inga lead us through the pasture to see the horses and the "babies" that were about 5 weeks old - 4 fillies and 1 colt. Not only did she describe the workings of the farm, she also gave us a mini seminar on Icelandic horses that was informative, interesting and funny. Inga was a delight as was everything about this guesthouse. Definitely a "must" stay.

Inga (the owner of the farm) was so lovely and the place felt really cousy:).

The host was extremely friendly. She gave us a warning about the incomming storm and possible road closures. She even suggested that we could cancel our stay if we couldn't arrive safely because of the weather. She was very thoughtful and considerate.
The room was clean, cosy and warm. The facilities had everything that we needed. The breakfast was carefully prepared and delicious.
I couldn't recommend this stay more.
