Wow, this is what I can say about this hotel😍 amazing place, a wonderful location in the middle of almost nowhere, beautiful surrounding, I can stay here forever. The room was so nice and simple, the dining area has a very beautiful view, the food was very good, and very nice staff. I would come back and stay in this place if I ever visit Iceland again.

The most beautiful hotel of our entire trip. But above all, I highly recommend trying the wonderful food at this hotel. We had the opportunity to taste lamb and baked cheese with vegetables that are typical of Iceland — absolutely delicious. Later, we found out that the chef at this hotel is a Polish woman who has been cooking there for years. The food was amazing 😍. The breakfasts were very filling...

The reception staff were very helpful and friendly, which made check-in smooth and welcoming. After a long day of driving, it was such a relief to lie down in the extremely comfortable beds, they were just what I needed. The bartender was also very friendly and made the evening even more enjoyable. Overall, a great stay!

Room and toilet are spacious. No staff were seen after 11 pm. at the reception desk.

It’s not easy to find a hotel in Iceland, and I feel like you get what you pay for. This one is considered cheap. One thing this place didn't do well was the poor WiFi signal in the room I was in. Because the mobile signal was very poor, we had to rely on WiFi. But in the whole room, only the doorway can be connected. When needed, we had to sit at the door as shown in the photo to access the internet

Parking area is spacious, easy to park. Hotel is located near to tourist spot Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. About 10 mins drive. Hotel buffet breakfast is very good. Alot of handmade cookies and cakes, fresh fruits and local meal. Room is clean and tidy. Recommended to stay here.

This Hotel provided us with a fantastic stay. It is clean, the staff are very attentive but not overbearing. Our room was very clean, but there were a couple of small drawbacks. There was a small desk, but no wardrobe for clothes. It would have served better to do away with the desk and provide somewhere to unpack our cases and hang clothes. My wife and I lived out of our suitcases for the duration...

The hotel is in a good location and they got their own diner. One of the staff(the cat) is rude and do not respond to me. However all of other staffs are so nice! The breakfast is good. Attached with the photos of the rude staff.

The room was a bit old and had a hospital-like feel, but the location is fantastic: right by the sea with beautiful views. The staff were extremely helpful, and the restaurant exceeded all expectations.

The rooms are located in separate buildings outside of the reception area, much like a villa-style business hotel. However, there are no elevators, only stairs, so you'll need to carry your luggage yourself.

Friendly and courteous service, well-stocked breakfast, local beer (from Höfn craft brewery), and the staff speaks 4 to 5 languages.

The hotel is rustic and simple, but very well maintained and clean. It seems to be the largest hotel in town, with a large parking lot and beautiful surroundings. It's a worthwhile place to stay, although the beds are a bit small.

It was unexpectedly hot when we checked into the hotel that day, but fortunately the hotel provided electric fans and the room was spacious. The lake view was beautiful.

Rooms in Iceland are really expensive. This is the most expensive hotel on the island. The room is okay, but there is a horse stable next to the hotel, and the smell of horse and cow dung is very strong.

This hotel is very suitable for vacation and leisure. It is located in a forest. The front desk drove a golf cart to deliver our luggage to the door of the room. The hotel is a bit far from the center of Egilsstadt. The breakfast is average with few options. The dinner is okay, but the steak is too old. The chef came out to greet us personally and replaced it with cod according to our request.

There's a lake next to it, but the view is average. There's no kettle, so you have to go to the front desk to get water, just like in college, and you have to walk outside to get to the front desk. The bed is small.

A great stay to go around Hofn and the Diamond beach. It also offers breakfast which is basic things but enough for us. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the room we had was quite spacious.

Absolutely our favorite stay while in Iceland. This spot is about 10 minute outside of the main Hofn area and very affordable. Our self-check in was very easy and our room was easy to find. Our little double bed cabin was so precious and held perfectly fine against the winter wind and cold. We loved that we could park right outside our cabin rather than lug our luggage through a hotel from a parking...

Perfect location just outside Hofn. Very nice guesthouses with shared bathrooms. We stayed only for one night but we couldn't have asked for anything better. In line with prices in and around Hofn.

We arrived around 8 and they were very helpful with dining options outside of the hotel but we ended up eating there, which was an amazing choice! The service was excellent, the food was delicious. We spoke with a worker for almost an hour after the restaurant should have closed and got many suggestions on where to go on our trip and lots of information about Iceland. Wonderful stay!

We were comfy, warm and had what we needed. We saw the Aurora really clearly as there was no light pollution, it was amazing! The cabins are situated in such a beautiful spot with awesome views and horses nearby. This was a very special place in our Iceland adventure!!

Aurora cabins was the most expensive cabin we stayed in during our trip to Iceland and the smallest. It would be fine for a couple but it was too small for our family of four. The views were lovely but it was closer to the road than I was expecting. It was very well equipped and the shower was great but I’m glad we didn’t stay any longer than one night.

We saw the aurora during our one-night stay from our room, it was fantastic! The cabin was also lovely, with a perfect view in the morning.

Aurora cabins lived up to their name! We were able to catch the lights the night we stayed (and it was the only time we were able to during our vacation)! In regard to the lodging itself - we loved how close to ring road the cabin was. It was easily located via google maps and had a seamless self check in with a parking spot waiting for us. The cabin itself was so cute! Clearly modern Icelandic design...

The cabin is well constructed and very clean. Spacious room with kitchen and a living room. Private bathroom, shower works great without any clogging. Comfortable but a little small beds. The bedding is of high quality cotton.

Hotel Jökul was unfortunately a bit of a disappointment. We arrived late at night in the rain and darkness, which made it a bit difficult to find the reception and there was little indication that there was a hotel there. After a while we saw a sign pointing the way to the reception and that was nice. But when we dragged our luggage up the stairs and into there, we were given a room in another building...

No-frills hotel a short drive from Höfn. Rooms look a bit dated but are functional and will give you a good night's rest. Breakfast is a simple affair with no hot food on the menu. Walls are thin and we could hear our neighbours a bit too well.

Advertised as hotel with free breakfast the announced that our reservation didn't include it and that we would need to buy it at $24 each. We made a reservation on Hotels.com where was not option even on breakfast to be included or not. Somehow hotel decided not to?! There is no elevator, beware you have a heavy luggage! Rooms are ok, spacious, but there are no fridge, no shelves and no room to place...

The family room that we had was very spacious. Due to the location of the hotel it is very quiet. Our beds were comfortable -- just right hardness. We missed a reading light near the bed. Dinner in the hotel restaurant a la carte was excellent. The breakfast buffet was very good.

This hotel is located in Höfn, about 500km from Reykjavik Airport. We arrived late at night, but the hotel staff were warm and welcoming. The facilities inside were also satisfactory.

The hotel is nice, everything is pretty clean. The staff is friendly. The beds aren't very comfortable, the mattress is soft, and there's almost nothing to eat for breakfast. A refrigerator in the room would be nice.

I can’t understand how can someone say that the room is small and has “many” stairs.. it is literally 15 stairs to the room, which is very spacious as you can see in the picture.

Breakfast was good but only from 07 to 09, st short and not been able to check in befor 16:00 and then have to check out at 10:00, not good. The bar had very poor selection

The hotel is conveniently located near restaurants, supermarkets, and numerous gas stations, making it convenient for self-driving travelers. The front desk staff was helpful, not only helping an elderly person with their luggage but also offering information on the Aurora Borealis sightings at night. The breakfast was varied and delicious.

Nice views but not fancy Guesthouse with nice views. Shared bathroom which were too busy in the mornngs. Also shared kitchen with 2 small fridges. It was okay, junky outside the bldg. Owners could be more available. I waited outside for extra pillows. Someone went in but nevver came out again.

But the exterior feels like it is slowly turning into a junkyard - it was full of old/rusty vehicles/farm equipment, there was a rusty chimenea full of trash out front, and multiple trash bags were piled up under the stairs leading up to the guesthouse. It's a student dorm but in the summer it's a hotel. Therefore the rooms are not super cosy, but it's okay and clean. All rooms have a great view onto the fjord! Breakfast was great! And you can make your own waffles! 😍

Spent a night here on our Ring Road trip around Iceland. Lovely family run farm that has a guest house for travelers as well as Icelandic horse riding tours. It was a nice change from staying at hotels and the first time we really got to have some conversations with the knowledgable people who actually live here. Part of visiting a country is also getting to know the people… but it is easy to be distracted...

This was our favourite accommodation of our two week vacation in Iceland. The area is stunning, accommodations clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and it was lovely to chat with the family who are all welcoming and informative. We also did a horse ride which was amazing, felt safe and got to see some more of the beautiful area. I would highly recommend Skorrahestar!

My husband and I did a 1 hour tour here and had a great time as this was our first time ever riding a horse! The ride was very easy and the horses were super gentle. The views were phenomenal! Passing cows, wild flowers, and walking along the stream. The guide was very friendly and patient. She also gave educated us about Iceland along the ride. The property also has baby lambs, Arctic fox pup, chickens...

We had the entire block of unit to ourselves as we had 3 people. Staff was nice and polite and the rooms are spacious. Best of all is the location which is near to the major tourist spots we were visiting. Breakfast spread was not so wide but it is sufficient for us to have a full breakfast.

This property is located in a quiet place. We drove into a parking lot labelled with the name only to discover that registration was half a block back. Other guests helped direct us where to go. The hotel looked liked it needed a coat of paint but inside it was a spacious set of rooms. It's alover a good stay. Very kind and helpful hosts. Breakfast is very good. Rooms are big, well headed, comfortable and sparkling clean. Also in winter time, in January, they are here, with all you need. Hot tube is open. They are for Islands kindness. We love this land and come back.

Cabin was an aged but comfortable. Bathroom small but private. Hot water was came out extremely hot and had slight sulfur smell, but pretty unique experience to be using thermally heated water for the first time. The staff was helpful but had stretched thin with large tour groups. The dinner was very good and reasonably priced, as was the hotel.

I was 3 times at this hotel this summer and every time there was problem at check in. I wrote email upfront to hotel that rooms need to be prepared for 2 people not for one, they replied that everything will be ready on arrival. When we arrived, receptionist said that he didn't reply to my email but somebody else, so no room was prepared for 2 people and they had to do it on arrival, which my clients...

This place was beautiful and perfect for our family of 4 with 2 teenagers. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen well-stocked with everything you need to cook your own meals, and the bathrooms were very private and well-kept. The views are AMAZING! 100% recommend this place!

Only 4 stars, as the description of the property varies wildly between sites. The name is either Havarí Hostel or Bráz Hostel, they might or might not have breakfast included (we didn't find any), and they might or might not have laundry services (we also couldn't find this). Rooms, bedding, and bathrooms were clean and comfortable, and the kitchen was well-organized.

Great place if you are heading to East Iceland and the fjords. The owners are very nice and the hostel only has 6 rooms so it's very comfortable and not overcrowded. Kitchen is complete and shared refrigerator big enough for each room to have their own shelf.
