Hlíð Bed and Breakfast in Myvatn

Staff was exceptionally nice and friendly. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Great place to see the northern lights. We had a wonderful time.

Great location for a short stay. Some restaurants near the location. The room was ok. No soundproofing between rooms.

Easy to miss the reception (it's a green building to the right, just as you drive in), but otherwise it was a good stay. Really liked the breakfast.

Best sleep we had on our trip! So good in fact that we decided to skip the included breakfast. I was curious though, so I checked out the breakfast room at 11am (an hour after breakfast closed). The very kind person working there insisted on having us have breakfast still and they were super kind! The rooms were fine, like I said, we slept very well. You can hear a lot from the neighbors, but I think we slept later than them so we did not have any problems with noise :)

Very happy with our stay here. Cheap and cheerful. Rooms were small but cosy and blackout blinds were fantastic for a good night's sleep. View out onto lava fields was lovely. Breakfast was really great. A step up from the usual guesthouse breakfast we've experienced here in Iceland. There were fresh croissants, pancakes as well as super fresh bread.

Stayed in the bed and breakfast area. Good tidy rooms with decent bathrooms. Breakfast starts at 7am which was great with a selection of breads, meats, fruits, yogarts etc. Best part is the lack of light pollution making it a great place see the northern lights.

We stayed at the campground for two nights: very nice and quiet camping. Enough space.Nice views over Lake Myvatn. In the middle of lava fields. Very friendly staff.
Good laundry service: you leave your laundry at the reception and the next morning you pick up the clean and dry laundry. Hot showers included.
Only disadvantage is that there is no covered area for washing your dishes. They have a large tent as covered area.
Excellent value for money.

Firstly Hild has one reception and they offer carious types of rooms, from a Hostel, camping to Bed and breakfast cabins... We stayed in the bed and breakfast cabins and we had an amazing sleep, they have Full block out blinds and NO light can come in, so you sleep like a baby. Breakfast starts at 8am, but they were nice enough to start at 7am for us as we had an early start. The breakfast is very good as well. Also the views are great, you stay on a lava field!

It is hard to find, but head to reception next to the camping site
