Slept here the first night after arriving. Location between the airport and Reykjavik is great. Although the hotel is situated on a kind of business area, there are restaurants and bars nearby within a 5 min. drive.
The hotel view is perfect. I will say this is a good place for viewing northern light!
Perfect location with loads of free parking space
Perfect hotel between Reykjavik town and airport
Room is nice,clean and big
Breakfast very good with a delicious bread
It's really a good deal
Great location between the airport and Reykjavik, very convenient at that level to easily manage travel time between both places.
The self check-in experience, even outside of regular hours, was perfect, and contacting the staff via message to schedule everything was very simple and efficient.
Spacious and very clean rooms, it's a shame about the poor soundproofing between rooms, which would have made...
Well built and decorated. Very clean, the rooms are warm and comfortable. The one thing I don't like is the breakfast, which is completely cold and quite low end in comparison.

We had a wonderful stay at this fabulous Viking themed hotel. The staff & service were impeccable, and nothing was never too much trouble. The food at the adjoining restaurant was also truly delicious. They really made our stay a time to remember for all the right reasons. ❤️
Disappointing first stay at this hotel. Most of the staff were lovely and helpful however there was a man working there who was grumpy, unhelpful and rude. Didn’t seem to want to serve people and wouldn’t help us with an early breakfast.
The standard room was tiny with no room for luggage and two people.
The hot tub was lovely and great to use however
Lovely! Great outdoor hot tub and sauna! Cosy reading room, lovely hot shower. Great decor and nice viking themed restaurant nearby.
Great transport and shops/eateries nearby.
Beautiful view of the bay
All the staff speak fluent English.
Fantastic stay.
Rooms are spacious and clean.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Breakfast is a nice range of continental foods.
Had a couple of meals in the restaurant next door and everything tasted great.
Nice base location to explore the golden circle.
We stayed at hotel Viking this weekend and couldn’t recommend you guys enough! The hotel really stands out especially with the red lighting in the evening, it’s right opposite the harbour which is beautiful we spent both evenings having a stroll along the water, the staff are lovely and very friendly and accommodating. We stayed in one of the cottages which was really cute and cosy. The cottage was...

The room was clean and comfortable, perfect for two people. The breakfast was good and hotel staff was friendly and welcoming. I would recommend if you plan on renting a car. It is not as convenient when you depend on the public bus and excursion pickups for transportation.
Our original room experienced a pluming issue on the 1st morning. We were moved straight away no problem. Staff on reception primarily Anna were amazing and extremely helpful, and really help us to enjoy our stay in iceland. Breakfast was a simple buffet style but for the price was ample. Would definitely come back and stay again
Lovely little hotel in a great location. Very kindly gave us a lovely upgrade too as we were there to celebrate my 30th!Thank you! Beds are really comfy too.
5 minute walk from several takeaway places & restaurants and a local shop. Easy pickups for Reykjavik Sightseeing day tours too. No restaurant at the hotel but they do a tasty buffet breakfast and have a bar.
We stayed in room 237 and the bathroom smelled like mildew / mold. I think it was coming from the sink. It made the whole room smell. I don’t think it’s healthy to breath in. We had to keep the bathroom door closed so it didn’t stink up the room. The room didn’t come with a hairdryer which is a necessity in Iceland. It’s cold out and wet hair isn’t ideal for cold weather. The free breakfast was good...
Friendly staff were so good to me. I arrived looking like a train wreck after a 9 hour flight and a few hours at the Blue Lagoon still way earlier than my check-in time (like 4 hours early) and the girl at the desk just wanted to help, no attempt to charge an extra day, nothing like that, she let me in my awesome room, asked if I needed anything and let me be. Thank you so much! You made my trip to...
We were given a very tiny room. Just enough space for a 2 person bed, a desk, a small closet - nothing more. I read a review where a guest said they couldn't open up their suitcase because there was no space. I could see that. Luckily we only had backpacks or we would've had the same problem. The room was reasonably clean. Walls are a bit thin. The opening and shutting of doors were very audible from...

Decent location in a very quiet industrial area. Good base for Reykjavik, Blue Lagoon, and the airport. Easy access to get on main roads for south coast day trips and Golden Circle. Beds were comfy, just enough amenities to keep you satisfied. Kitchen is a big plus especially with near by grocery stores. I recommend this place to the person who will be out and about most of the time and is on a budget
Nice place to stay for what you spend. Communal kitchen was handy to have and close to the bus stop but 40 minutes from the city. Beds were comfortable and it was nice and warm. Bathrooms could have been a little cleaner.
The guesthouse did the job perfectly for us. It is clean and we'll organized. The kitchen was stocked with the basics for cooking and the breakfast was a nice bonus. There is free WiFi and free parking on site. It is not close to downtown unless you have a car. Not sure about transit. There is a Kronan grocery store nearby. Overall a good experience, we would stay there again .
Classic guesthouse with comfortable rooms, convenient location to shopping, nice kitchen, chatty but respectful fellow guests. Rules are clearly posted and everyone followed the quiet hours and kept the kitchen spotless. The owner is friendly and gave us great local information. We were very happy to find this affordable (for Iceland) lodging for our 24-hour layover.

The hotel is very quiet. Great location.
Great!
The hotel was clean and the breakfast was delicious!
The front desk staff were kind and spoke in easy-to-understand English, which was very helpful!
Overall, it was a nice hotel. Breakfast was included and it was reasonably priced. It was a little far from Reykjavik, so it was a 10-minute drive away, which was great because we could see the Northern Lights. However, the room door wouldn't lock.
Room was clean, staff was kind. Really like that it was close to the city but far enough to get from the crowds
The room is spacious and the bed is comfortable. The location is fantastic as it offers free parking and close to a famous bakery, Costco and Sky lagoon. The breakfast is a typical Nordic breakfast which is very nice. Staff are warm and friendly. I will definitely come back again.

The room was great! The staff were very helpful and we were able to get an early check in since our flight landed at 7am. Hotel was very quiet and nice! Definitely worth a try!
Room was great. It would be great if the rooms were as updated as the lobby area. The rooms are a little dated and thr hallways leading to the rooms have the grandma's house smell, but overall it was good. I'd come back.
Everything was fine; just a hotel to sleep while you are vacationing, nothing special.
Stay at Hotel Iceland Comfort was pleasant. Price of accommodation very acceptable. Room neat, clean and comfortable. Receptionist extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast excellent but a little on the expensive side.
Smell of a fish dish through the reception of the hotel every evening. Not in the rooms though. Room clean and comfortable thoughout the stay.
Very nice staff and nice room!!Have coffee inside as well as tea. However, the mattress and the bed needs renovation as it quite old.

Place is clean and safe.10 minute Drive to Reykhavik. The property management is very responsive which i love easy to communicate.10/10
The view from the room was spectacular. We had a car and access to Reykjavík and out of town for sightseeing was very easy.
We had a room on floor 1. It was comfortable. The bed and shower/bathroom were good. It was clean. But note that this is budget accommodation with a worn headboard, old kitchen units, a bust window opener, a loose tap and a poorly secured fridge. Doubt much maintenance is done hence the cheaper price. It was in an unbeatable location, though, easy to park and just 15 minutes into downtown Reykjavik...
As 4 travelers, it was great to have a place we could all have our own beds without getting more than one room. Grocery right across the street, 1 block off the main bus line, a nice restaurant a couple doors down. Would definitely stay here again.
Our stay was ok. The bathroom was a bit of a mess—the shower didn’t drain properly and didn’t have a proper door. Dirty water pooled everywhere whenever we took a shower. The water all smelled sulfur-y and had a strong sulfur taste, so we ended up buying a bunch of bottled water from the grocery store. We were only there 2 nights but ran out of basics in the shower like soap.
That being said, it’s...
Contact free flat. Clear instructions given on how to enter the property. Nice not to have to worry about taking a key out when exploring.

I stayed here for a week in a mixed dorm room, and overall, it was a pretty comfy experience. The dorms were clean and, surprisingly, very quiet. I chatted with a few people, but mostly kept to myself. The best part? The dorm was never full during my stay, and for a few nights, I even had it all to myself - which was a nice little bonus!
The biggest downside is the location. It's quite out of the...
Good to stay on a budget. The breakfast is fine and the stafff are helpful and bedrooms fine got to socialise with people over the world however the shower I was having problems getting the right temperature
For what it is, it's fine i guess. The room and the shower was clean, the rest not so much. The tables sticky, the floor old and thus not very appealing. Take care of your food! Ours was stolen from the fridge by other tourists. Not really a fault of the motel but still very uncool.
If you are a light sleeper, the you shouldn't stay here! The road is very noisy. Not a problem for me but something to...
Nothing worse than a dorm room. I got to the hostel very very early in the morning (around 5am) and the staff in the kitchen let me sit in the restaurant and wait until i could check in at 2pm. I decided to go for a walk around 9am and the young lady behind the counter put my bag with her and watched it while i did that. they ended up being able to check me in around 10am. Was quite dirty when I arrived...
The hostel was pretty nice, the staff was helpful but not friendly at all. The kitchen was good, bathrooms clean. The only bad thing is that the beds are so extremely noisy, every time someone change slepping position 'even carefully', all the people inside the room note it.
Breakfast is normal, but, it is better to buy something in bonus and cook it.
Stayed in a 16 person shared room. Room was clean and so was the bedding. Cleaning staff came in around 9:30am to start cleaning the common kitchen/bathroom areas. There were utensils and cooking supplies for solo travellers to use which was nice! Comfortable common spaces. The bedroom did smell slightly bad, I would argue that it was most probably because of the other guests hanging wet clothing/towels...

Good basic accomadation
Good value for money but this is not a luxury hotel. Buses to city center nearby but it is out of town. Plenty of parking. A bit slow at providing us with room access details.
It was a different experience with no person to contact regarding questions. Questionable neighborhood, but in the end it was OK.
Curious stay, because check-in simply happened by phone for us to communicate that we’d arrived, to get the code to enter, and to know what our room number was. The place is clean and it’s a big three-floor house in the outskirts of Reykjavik, which is an interesting area to stay in, too. It’s right next to a big park and a school, very quiet and cute, and there are two huge and very soft cats in the...
This is a "self-help" facility. There is no staff. My room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. But shared bathroom and kitchen could use some TLC.

He truly did his best to make us feel at home. The breakfast was a highlight, particularly the pancakes which were amazing. Thank you for the wonderful memories!
Lovely place full of an old fashioned Icelandic charm. The one thing I have against it is the red ants. They were in the room and breakfast area. They bite too!

Pros: Only a 15-minute walk from Reykjavik, and free parking is available outside the accommodation.
Cons: Located on the basement floor, the accommodation had a strong damp smell. The toilet had no heating, making showering extremely cold.

The location was fantastic. Check in was easy. Staff seemed to come in regularly and take out the trash and tiddy up the bathrooms. The couch for the third person to sleep on was awful. The beds are comfortable but
1. I had a hard time finding my room
2. I could hear that my neighbours were doing some stuff through the door in my room
3. Breakfast didn't have much variety.
This is a fancy hotel but my stay could have been better
Great stay at the hotel. Booked a room including breakfast.
The breakfast had lots of variety and choices and fresh produce, some of it local. The hotel staff was friendly and available for all request and questions. The rooms were good and spacious, a little bit noisy because of the door between the two hotel rooms. Located perfectly in the city nothing is ever further than a 20 minute walk anyway
The hotel was perfectly placed for what we wanted to do, the restaurant downstairs was exceptionally good, great food and friendly service. You could tell the room hadn’t seen any renovations in a long time, and there were what appeared to be dried bogeys on the side of our bed. Also, we had a double bed but with two single duvets - not sure if this is normal in Iceland but was certainly strange.
The rooms have good view of their snow-capped mountains. For now it takes longer though to move from the rooms to the ground floor since the hotel is presently undergoing renovation. Their Grilled restaurant on the top floor has 180 degrees view of the city. It serves good food & wine.
The refurbished rooms are nice and comfy with good beds. The old rooms not so good. Once the hotel is finished refurbishment it will be great. Only about 10min walk from town.

More like a backpackers hostel than a guest house. Clean but very basic - especially considering the price. Tiny bathroom (no problem for us - but a larger person would not squeeze through the shower door). There is a shared kitchen with a coffee machine which is a plus. Kind customer service on the phone - but no one on site. No place to store luggage after 11am check out time.

This is a self-service hotel, so there's no front desk. However, the facilities are brand new, and the room isn't small. It even has its own parking garage, which makes for a very comfortable stay. The location isn't in the city center, but it's not far either – about a seven or eight-minute drive. Getting around is super convenient, as there's a bus stop right downstairs. We enjoyed your stay at Guesthouse Galtafell. The parking available is free street parking, we went in late February 2026 and had no issue with finding a park close by. Rooms were quiet and safe. Good heating and a large bathroom. On our first night we had issues with the shower water not draining, we emailed and they had it fixed within hours. Although this wasn't communicated to us which was disappointing...
Very nice guesthouse situated in a quiet area, yet close to central city. Owners contacted us before arrival to instruct about access to our room. When leaving, my daughter forgot her gloves and hat in the room. The owner contacted us and arranged sending the items to Sweden. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Guesthouse Galtafell. It was very clean with great amenities and a spacious bathroom. The hosts are also very kindhearted and let us keep our luggage there post check out while we went on a day trip. Thorey and her husband go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome and special.
This suited us perfectly for a three night stay. The building looks great from the outside. The room was a little quirky but clean and functional. Beds were comfortable and if you like a cheeky afternoon nap (like me) the sofa is also comfortable. Easy to check in and out. No hassle or fuss.
Our family stayed in a 3-bed apartment and it was absolutely perfect for us. Could not have asked for better setup for our group. The room and bathrooms were very clean, high ceilings, windows that could be opened to let crisp air in, quiet residential neighborhood, and within walking distance to downtown. We had a kitchenette which is very helpful when trying to save some money by not eating every...
A really great place to stay whilst staying in Iceland! The staff members were super helpful and attentive, even Fram the dog and JellyBelly the cat! The room was perfect for two of us, the beds were super comfy and room had everything we needed for our 5 nights away! Thank you for a great stay!🌌

Booked a 3 bedroom apartment for 6 people. 3 bedrooms on 2nd floor and one sofa bed on G/F. Narrow stairs and only 1 toilet on G/F. Weak water pressure in bathroom.
✅washing machine
❎turbo dry
BEWARE! No parking at the entrance. I got a fine while parking my car over there.
Such a cozy spot! Very clean, comfy beds. Host was very quick to respond to email. Loved the shared living space, fast wifi. Kitchen had everything we needed and more! A short walk down town, would definitely recommend.
Very cosy place. They have warm rooms all the time. Big comfort kitchen and a lobby with a lovely cat. The location is perfect for short walks to the center. They have always warm coffee for the guests. The rooms are clean and the shared bathroom is clean with warm water all the time. I would definitely recommend it and i will come back to this next time.
Located just a short walk from the Cathedral, the Baldursbra guesthouse is ideal for the budget traveller, the rooms a quite big, and the room we had a small sink and mirror for brushing you teeth before bed or doing makeup. The staff were really friendly, the rooms were spotless, I couldn't have asked for more.
Guesthouse with self-service check-in and out. Small room (for one person; for more I think they are cool). Strange but exciting experience. Shared bathroom. I will repeat for sure next time, has an extraordinary charm...
Good:
Location is close to where Airport bus 55 stops, about 250m away.
Rooms are large, warm and has one fridge and kettle. Common kitchen is clean, has pots, cutlery, bowls, plates, cups. Check in is self serve (find your name and room number on the white board) but staff respond quickly if you message them.
Bad:
Room door is very very hard to open. Not soundproof, can hear people downstairs even...

A quite good guesthouse with kitchen for the price, the guesthouse is literally location is just next to Hallgrimskirkja Church , perfect location for the travellers to explore Reykjavik city , it’s has walkable distance to BIS bus terminal to reach airport. Had kitchen to cook own meals it was great , morning around 6:30 to 8pm u can’t use the kitchen since breakfast will be serving, neat shared ...
Stayed at this guesthouse twice. Saw small stains on the bedding both times, maybe time for them to get some new sheets. The room had a bad smell when entering but was okay after airing out. Bathrooms were okay but they only have one on each floor which definitely isn’t enough at peak times. Luggage storage is not secure (just a room behind the kitchen which anyone can wonder into) poor service when...
The environment is nice, close to the cathedral and the station, and the service is acceptable.
The small room is simple, but has everything you need. I was especially happy about the large desk. The breakfast was surprisingly good, given that food is quite expensive in Island (only the coffee could be better). The location is great and really close to the heart of the city, but still relatively quiet.
A nightmare to arrive at this property, we did not receive an email indicating where to collect the keys and where our room is located, the property is made up of several scattered houses, breakfast is not sufficient
I highly recommend this place. It was a bit hard to find at first. I carried my suitcase and searched for the front desk for a long time. I found it on the side of a small street, and it was half underground. It was too hard to find, but once you checked in, it was very convenient. There was breakfast. Although there was not much to eat, it was very clean. There were few varieties, but it was enough...

Nice experience. I booked Fosshotel Raudara and Lind for my trip this time. For the same company Fosshotel I experienced two distinct service. This Raudara is a nice one! Thumb up for them. Staff are friendly and helpful!
Rooms are clean, nice breakfast start from 6.30am and with lift.
Fosshotel Lind just opposite this hotel. Staff not friendly and helpful at all, rooms are ok but small toilet.Their...
Triple room right at the end of the corridor of the top floor. Very quiet and spacious room. Clean facilities. Excellent location, within walking distance to town and the church. Free on street parking near hotel.
I stayed two nights and accommodations, were both affordable and immaculate. The staff were absolutely amazing. They help you with anything from postcards you need sent out to questions about the city and the best places to eat. The location is also amazing. There was no need to rent a car to see the city. If I could give more than five stars, I would I have stayed at other hotels in Iceland and I...
Breakfast is nice, front desk staff is responsible and smart

The smiles of the staff at the counter and restaurant were genuine and lovely, a rare sight in Iceland. Although the hotel was old, it was clean and quiet at night. However, most people in Iceland travel independently, and no matter which hotel you stay in at different times, you'll always hear the sound of someone opening and closing the door (for late-night flights, people chasing the Northern Lights...
