Slept here the first night after arriving. Location between the airport and Reykjavik is great. Although the hotel is situated on a kind of business area, there are restaurants and bars nearby within a 5 min. drive.
The hotel view is perfect. I will say this is a good place for viewing northern light!
Perfect location with loads of free parking space
Perfect hotel between Reykjavik town and airport Room is nice, clean and big Breakfast very good with a delicious bread It's really a good deal
Great location between the airport and Reykjavik, very convenient at that level to easily manage travel time between both places. The self check-in experience, even outside of regular hours, was perfect, and contacting the staff via message to schedule everything was very simple and efficient. Spacious and very clean rooms, it's a shame about the poor soundproofing between rooms, which would have made...
Well built and decorated. Very clean, the rooms are warm and comfortable. The one thing I don't like is the breakfast, which is completely cold and quite low end in comparison.

We had a wonderful stay at this fabulous Viking themed hotel. The staff & service were impeccable, and nothing was never too much trouble. The food at the adjoining restaurant was also truly delicious. They really made our stay a time to remember for all the right reasons. ❤️
Disappointing first stay at this hotel. Most of the staff were lovely and helpful however there was a man working there who was grumpy, unhelpful and rude. Didn’t seem to want to serve people and wouldn’t help us with an early breakfast. The standard room was tiny with no room for luggage and two people. The hot tub was lovely and great to use however
Lovely! Great outdoor hot tub and sauna! Cosy reading room, lovely hot shower. Great decor and nice viking themed restaurant nearby. Great transport and shops/eateries nearby. Beautiful view of the bay All the staff speak fluent English.
Fantastic stay. Rooms are spacious and clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast is a nice range of continental foods. Had a couple of meals in the restaurant next door and everything tasted great. Nice base location to explore the golden circle.
We stayed at hotel Viking this weekend and couldn’t recommend you guys enough! The hotel really stands out especially with the red lighting in the evening, it’s right opposite the harbour which is beautiful we spent both evenings having a stroll along the water, the staff are lovely and very friendly and accommodating. We stayed in one of the cottages which was really cute and cosy. The cottage was...

The room was clean and comfortable, perfect for two people. The breakfast was good and hotel staff was friendly and welcoming. I would recommend if you plan on renting a car. It is not as convenient when you depend on the public bus and excursion pickups for transportation.
Our original room experienced a pluming issue on the 1st morning. We were moved straight away no problem. Staff on reception primarily Anna were amazing and extremely helpful, and really help us to enjoy our stay in iceland. Breakfast was a simple buffet style but for the price was ample. Would definitely come back and stay again
Lovely little hotel in a great location. Very kindly gave us a lovely upgrade too as we were there to celebrate my 30th!Thank you! Beds are really comfy too. 5 minute walk from several takeaway places & restaurants and a local shop. Easy pickups for Reykjavik Sightseeing day tours too. No restaurant at the hotel but they do a tasty buffet breakfast and have a bar.
We stayed in room 237 and the bathroom smelled like mildew / mold. I think it was coming from the sink. It made the whole room smell. I don’t think it’s healthy to breath in. We had to keep the bathroom door closed so it didn’t stink up the room. The room didn’t come with a hairdryer which is a necessity in Iceland. It’s cold out and wet hair isn’t ideal for cold weather. The free breakfast was good...
Friendly staff were so good to me. I arrived looking like a train wreck after a 9 hour flight and a few hours at the Blue Lagoon still way earlier than my check-in time (like 4 hours early) and the girl at the desk just wanted to help, no attempt to charge an extra day, nothing like that, she let me in my awesome room, asked if I needed anything and let me be. Thank you so much! You made my trip to...
We were given a very tiny room. Just enough space for a 2 person bed, a desk, a small closet - nothing more. I read a review where a guest said they couldn't open up their suitcase because there was no space. I could see that. Luckily we only had backpacks or we would've had the same problem. The room was reasonably clean. Walls are a bit thin. The opening and shutting of doors were very audible from...

The room was great! The staff were very helpful and we were able to get an early check in since our flight landed at 7am. Hotel was very quiet and nice! Definitely worth a try!
Room was great. It would be great if the rooms were as updated as the lobby area. The rooms are a little dated and thr hallways leading to the rooms have the grandma's house smell, but overall it was good. I'd come back.
Everything was fine; just a hotel to sleep while you are vacationing, nothing special.
Stay at Hotel Iceland Comfort was pleasant. Price of accommodation very acceptable. Room neat, clean and comfortable. Receptionist extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast excellent but a little on the expensive side.
Smell of a fish dish through the reception of the hotel every evening. Not in the rooms though. Room clean and comfortable thoughout the stay.
Very nice staff and nice room!!Have coffee inside as well as tea. However, the mattress and the bed needs renovation as it quite old.

Needs some improvement with kitchen supplies. Not too much of glasses for drinks. Just beer or another beverage glass
Good location, I will choose again this property
Good basic accomadation Good value for money but this is not a luxury hotel. Buses to city center nearby but it is out of town. Plenty of parking. A bit slow at providing us with room access details.
It was a different experience with no person to contact regarding questions. Questionable neighborhood, but in the end it was OK.
Curious stay, because check-in simply happened by phone for us to communicate that we’d arrived, to get the code to enter, and to know what our room number was. The place is clean and it’s a big three-floor house in the outskirts of Reykjavik, which is an interesting area to stay in, too. It’s right next to a big park and a school, very quiet and cute, and there are two huge and very soft cats in the...
This is a "self-help" facility. There is no staff. My room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. But shared bathroom and kitchen could use some TLC. The location is great if you have a car, but way out from the center (40-50 minutes by bus), so beware.

Very clean place far away from the city centre. The beds have no curtains but they are provided with a little lamp and a plug. Several toilets available and a short front desk opening times. I had left my luggage in the morning and the reception was locked since 4pm so I needed to dial from a foreign nr so I could collect my luggage. The staff was very kind but I would have appreciated more information...
Great place. Very good quality / price relation. For relatively good price you will get a place to stay in very good location im Reykjavik. Short walk to The city center, bus station right around the corner. Hostel offers shared kitchen with everything you may need and multiple bathrooms.
Excellent location very good service everything nice tidy and very respectfull staff
This hotel is excellent! Even though it has shared bathrooms, they are very convenient and clean. The kitchen is fully equipped, allowing us to make breakfast and simple stir-fries for lunch. We plan to stay here again after returning our rental car.
Best location in the central area, walking distance to most attractions in Reykjavik, and easy access to buses going to Keflavik airport. The private bedroom was overall good, bright room with large window, cabinets, and sound insulated. Although the restrooms are shared with other guests, they're clean and well maintained and easy access from the room. There's also a shared kitchen where guests can...
Everything about this hostel is amazing. I have done memories of the stay, and I wanna go back. The place is spotless, quiet and super comfy. The front desk lady has amazing taste in music and will make you feel right at home. The kitchen was the most eventful place and I made a few friends there. Absolutely loved this place.

Close to the BSI main bus station (airport bus drop off) about 10-15min walk. Self check-in is possible if you arrive late in the evening. You will be given the passcodes for entrance to the building and also to the rooms. You just have to contact them. As for my room, I stayed in a single bed. It is small but all good. It has its own sink which is pretty useful for doing skin care. It also has cabinet...
Excellent location. Very near the BSI bus terminal. Getting around the city is easy on foot or by bus.
I think it's great for groups of friends traveling together. For couples, the room might be a bit basic, but the kitchen and laundry facilities are really convenient, making it perfect for a more budget-friendly trip.
1st night in Reykjavík, our room located at after entrance need to go down one floor with twist type staircase which is so torturing for us, due to 3 of us with three 28cm suitcase and also our hand carry bag. Kitchen and dining area was good and all kitchen utilities is fully equipped, we expected oil is provided but is not One small problem is the water shower is very slow and the shower curtain...
This hotel offers decent value for money in Iceland. The elderly gentleman at the reception provided excellent service. Although the bathrooms are shared, they were very clean. They also offer a €5 breakfast. The location is superb, within walking distance to both the bus station and city attractions. The only minor drawback is the soundproofing; you can hear footsteps in the hallway. Everything else...

Perfect place to spend a night or two as good location and comes with kitchen and laundry facilities. However check in can be a nightmare if your booking platform does not update you with check in instructions
The location was fantastic. Check in was easy. Staff seemed to come in regularly and take out the trash and tiddy up the bathrooms. The couch for the third person to sleep on was awful. There was a lot of mold in the shower and the drain didn’t work well. You had to continually shut the water off during your shower so it didn’t flood the bathroom. Staff was notified and they were able to have maintenance...
The room trash was not emptied and there was no indication where you could take it yourself. The humidity was quite high. The traffic noise was reasonably loud.
Great central location and value. You will share a bathroom so make sure you are ok with that. Having a kitchen available was great. Staff was helpful when I needed to speak to them.
Bathroom/Toilet is not as clean as expected
The rooms are clean for a budget hotel but the walls are paper thin. I can hear everytime someone takes a poop and when he goes to the shower or uses the tap. There is only 1 bathroom at every floor with the sink, toilet and shower in the same room so it cannot be used concurrently. This means we have to wait >30mins for each person to poop, then shower etc. You can only imagine what it is like on...

We were moved because our original booking cancelled. I didn't receive the PIN details to check in until I phones when we were here.
Convenient with nice amenities The room (family triple with private bathroom) was on the lower level and was easily accessible managing some stairs. It was large and welcoming for the two of us with outlets readily available by the bedsides for charging. The private shower fluctuated a bit on temp but nothing unreasonable. The main bed was very hard and not forgiving if you a side-sleeper. We found...
More like a backpackers hostel than a guest house. Clean but very basic - especially considering the price. Tiny bathroom (no problem for us - but a larger person would not squeeze through the shower door). There is a shared kitchen with a coffee machine which is a plus. Kind customer service on the phone - but no one on site. No place to store luggage after 11am check out time.
We really liked the room size and the private bathroom. Bed was comfortable. We were unable to open the front door using the access code provided to us via email, but it worked for the back door. The drapes in the room should extend over the entire window, but they do not. Overall a very good stay despite some minor issues.

This is a self-service hotel, so there's no front desk. However, the facilities are brand new, and the room isn't small. It even has its own parking garage, which makes for a very comfortable stay. The location isn't in the city center, but it's not far either – about a seven or eight-minute drive. Getting around is super convenient, as there's a bus stop right downstairs. Definitely recommended.
This is a self-check-in hotel. The breakfast is simple but filling, and the environment is quite nice. There's a parking lot, but you need a code to enter.
The breakfast was very impressive!
The room was clean and cozy, and there's a supermarket conveniently located near the hotel. The indoor parking was a huge plus, making parking very easy. The breakfast had a great variety, and the hotel staff were very friendly.
Location a slightly away from city centre however it’s convenient with car. Car park is available at basement with limited space. Breakfast was ok overall. The waffle and jam is delicious. Self check in but we didn’t encounter any issue during our late check in around 10pm.
Self service in everything , good location and worth it for the price you paid .

We enjoyed your stay at Guesthouse Galtafell. The parking available is free street parking, we went in late February 2026 and had no issue with finding a park close by. Rooms were quiet and safe. Although this wasn't communicated to us which was disappointing...
Very nice guesthouse situated in a quiet area, yet close to central city. Owners contacted us before arrival to instruct about access to our room. When leaving, my daughter forgot her gloves and hat in the room. The owner contacted us and arranged sending the items to Sweden. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Guesthouse Galtafell. It was very clean with great amenities and a spacious bathroom. The hosts are also very kindhearted and let us keep our luggage there post check out while we went on a day trip. Thorey and her husband go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome and special.
This suited us perfectly for a three night stay. The building looks great from the outside. The room was a little quirky but clean and functional. Beds were comfortable and if you like a cheeky afternoon nap (like me) the sofa is also comfortable. Easy to check in and out. No hassle or fuss.
Our family stayed in a 3-bed apartment and it was absolutely perfect for us. Could not have asked for better setup for our group. Solo trip. The location is excellent. It's about a 15-minute walk from the airport shuttle bus terminal, or you can arrange a drop-off. For day trips, the bus stop is #8. Ideal for a quick stop before traveling on. Ideal location right next to Hallgrimskirkja church. Easy walk or bus to down town, where loads of restraints. Only 1 pillow which was very flat and toilet could do with a bit more of a clean. But generally very nice room.
Given an 'Average' rating, but this was perfectly acceptable for what we paid for the room. Very convenient for the town center (an easy walk down to road puts you on the high street), well placed for bus/taxi pick-up and put-down. Good value for money.
Not really a hotel. No TV or Kettle. Kitchenette with sink and microwave? Breakfast not available until after 09:00 in the Vietnam restaurant which also acts as the reception! Good location though. Bed & bathroom clean, but with a couple of cockroaches

Beautiful venue, would highly recommend. Had been doing the ring road in a van that would last couple of days was so wonderful to come into such a cleanup, aesthetic, and calm environment to spend the night again. This is a great option in Reykjavik--the location is wonderful and the price is quite reasonable, especially since you get a lot more space than in a normal hotel room. Arctic Comfort Hotel, Reykjavik1 / 9

Reykjavik, Sidumula 19, Haaleiti, 108 Reykyavik, Stolichnaya oblast, Islandiya (2 km from centre) 🧭 Map
Despite the hotel’s somewhat unpreposessing location in the middle of what appears to be an industrial estate, we did enjoy our stay in room 501 here. Points of note- The hotel is approximately 2 miles from the centre of Reykjavik. So prepare to walk, hire a car or make use of taxis etc. We were told the hotel has no reception desk-and we never did see or find one. You need to contact them in advance...
No reception but they emailed us with the code to get in and the code to our room which all worked fine, no lift, main light not working but that didn’t bother us much as we had the big windows so there was plenty of daylight, didn’t see any cleaners, bad smell from hot water was everywhere in Iceland so no just this hotel, bathroom door didn’t close but other than that everything was clean and done...
The rate of experience definitely is dar better than the pat review. The hotel just need to focus of micro detail of booking such as breakfast , the capsule given for the coffee maker machine should be compatible . But above all , the experience is really comforting as the hotel names as. The room is well renovated, Their in house geo soap is great smell and relaxing. The shower is of good high standard...
Not a bad location just make shaw you get the bus save some money 🤣
Very easy to do the self check-in. I just wish there was an elevator but it wasn't too bad bringing my bag up the stairs. Very nice room.
Clean and nice, but no change of towels. No staff present. Digital communications only. Not close to city centre, but lots of restaurants nearby. Overall a pleasent stay.

not a very good experience with this hotel due to facilities and service provided. we were caught up in a storm causing us to miss the first night of our check in. tried to ask for cancellation but not allowed, which was fair enough. And since we had to check out before 7am the next day, we asked if we can get 6 sets of breakfast to go (free breakfast included in our stay). Our request was declined...
I think the hotel is a bit old with no dry and wet separation, but good location and nice staff there.
Well located and only a short walk to the city centre-old town. Bathrooms/shower is too small for use. Beds are comfortable. limited services offered at the accomodation.
The hotel is within walking distance of the pedestrian street. There are parking spaces next to the hotel. It's a typical three-star hotel.
The hotel has a great location, close to the surrounding area, including supermarkets, and there's a shuttle bus nearby.
In Iceland, where hotel prices are extremely high, this is a decent place to stay. The location is good, the room is small but clean, and the heating is sufficient. However, the hotel door closes after 11 pm and is opened after guests ring a bell, but the front desk staff were asleep, which wasn't good for making guests wait outside in the cold for a long time.

Evrything was good except that apartment had a strong fishy smell that just wouldnt air out in the 3 days we stayed there.
It's OK The room was large and nice accoring to the decription. There was actually everything available what you need. The location (in case you have a car) and environment is great (parking, gym, foodstire etc.). There are just a few things which should be maintained and fixed. I stayed there 7 days, there was no cleaning at all and you have to organize new towels and bedsheets by yourself by finding...
Access to laundry was a nice convenience. Self-check in was simple. Only minor inconvenience was the mini fridge didn't have a freezer section.
I chose this property for the washer dryer. It was a disaster. The circuit kept tripping. Had to make a call. There’s only one set for the whole floor and the dryer never did dry the clothes. I had to hang my clothes all over the apartment. The shower and sink drains were clogged and the night light switch was broken next to bed. Also only one sleeping pillow per person.
Good location for driving into the city, free parking, and clean. We appreciated having a small kitchen to prepare our own food, with dishes and cutlery provided. Check in was smooth but it was hard to get sheets and pillowcases for the sofa bed (they were not in our room upon arrival and we had to go find them ourselves on another floor). No blackout curtains - the curtains are red so the best you...
Modern apartment near a grocery store and bakery. The unit itself was clean but lacked some amenities. There were no black out curtains so it was bright at night. The shower basin was too small and you had to shut the shower off several times to let it drain so it wouldn’t flood the floor.

The Castle House Luxury Apartments are I such a great location. Everything is within walking distance with the bus stops to most of the tours within 5 minutes walk. The apartments themselves are very clean, well equipped and warm! There is underfloor heating in the bathroom and being Iceland, instant hot water!! The beds are very comfortable, with lovely warm quilts and pillows. Check in is easy...
The apartment is well situated, with a nice view of the Pond. It has lots of litght, the kitchen is well equipped, the shower is good and the bed comfortable. The ability to leave luggage on-site prior to arrival or at departure was quite appreciated. The reason for our 4 of 5 is the electronic key entry system that constantly troubled us, and no one on site to help us. We did not have SIM cards on...
Wish they had some signage so we would have known we were standing across the street when we asked a stranger if they knew where the place was. The shower was tiny and water flooded the floor no matter what we did to keep it from happening. Great location.
Wonderful location just off the center of the city. Comfortable and clean apartment. Felt very safe for a solo traveler. It was nice to have a fridge and microwave. I didn’t use the other appliances. Bed was comfy and shower was fantastic. Host communication was excellent. Convenient luggage storage if you get in early, or if you are leaving the city well after check out.
It offers great value for money, is located in the city center, and is very close to other places; the cathedral is just up a hill away.
Spend a weekend in Reykjavik! A weekend was the perfect amount of time to explore the city of Reykjavik. We found a great tour about the local lore and a couple of museums about Icelandic history.

Our first check-in was quite stressful. We arrived around 3:00 pm but couldn’t get into the hotel because there was no reception and we never received check-in instructions. Luckily, someone who was inside helped us open the door and called the hotel for assistance. The room itself was nice and clean. However, for travelers without a car, be aware that the hotel is a long walk from most major sightseeing...
Morgenmaden var to go. Køkkenet var ikke fuldt udstyret men fint. Dejligt med cookies og kaffe gratis.
Great location and within walking distance of a lot of stuff! Only complaint is the room was slightly dirty upon arrival. The housekeeping left behind used cleaning towels, a glove IN the toilet bowl, and the shower had stuff from the previous people left behind. We did get breakfast down the street through the hotel each morning which was great!
Breakfast was good, maybe the best part of this property. Shower was old and gross. Guest room and breakfast room are very dark. Probably by keeping it dark, they can hide some dirtiness of the property? There’s a reason why it’s super affordable compared to other places around the area.
This is about a 12min walk to the edge of downtown. It is still within a lively area of hotels and restaurants. They have tried to update the interior which is fine, but it is a bit damp and has carpets in the main hallways. Heads-up they do not have a front desk or admin staff on site but they are very responsive through WhatsApp if you have any issues. I had to message them a couple times and they...
Great place if you need a room for the night. This is a 2 star hotel. It is very basic and an afforyolace to stay. The breakfast is awesome though! If you don't have high standards this a good place to stay.
