This cottage stay was a new experience for me, and I really appreciated the peaceful setting and cozy atmosphere. It’s a lovely place to unwind, surrounded by nature.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get to see the northern lights during the night I stayed, as the sky wasn’t clear enough. Still, the location felt promising for aurora viewing, and I’d love to return for another chance.

Quiet, peaceful area, cozy cabin / cottage
My wife Sheri and I, traveled on vacation together in Sept. from Miami, FL. to Iceland to take a break away from the heat and humidity in Miami to explore Iceland country during Autumn/Winter season. We enjoyed our short stay at the Hellisholar Cottages. My wife really enjoyed the cold weather. We got Free parking included in our stay, Free wifi, hot and cold water, clean room, in a very quiet and peaceful area too.

I didn’t expect much staying in our rustic cabin the countryside. But for what they charge – the cabin really was not in great shape. There was broken furniture, the kitchenette barely had any silverware. Views are amazing, Location is great, the people are nice. But at least a nice well maintained cabin would be nice.

Great place for our first night in Iceland!
This was our first night in Iceland. We checked in late, however the front desk lady was super friendly and accommodating. We drove up to our cabin and it was a perfect start to our trip. Very rustic and quant. The three of us comfortably slept in a bed each. Would recommend!

Good cottages. They have a bbq, bathroom inside and in the area you can use two hot-tubs for free.

We stayed for two days. The environment was very quiet, the room was clean, and there was a kitchen where we could make our own breakfast. Everything else was good, except that the garbage bags were not cleaned out in time. When we came back on the first night, there was no place to throw away the garbage.

We stayed in a little hut which was very cosy and warm even though it was quite cold outside. The hut was equipped with hot water, stove, water boiler and cutlery. Unfortunately no oven but that was totally fine. The location was perfect: a few minutes drive outside Hvollsvollür. Would totally stay there again ＜3

Easy check in and check out. Nice surrounding view. Cottage equipped with pots, pans and kettle for cooking, plates, bowls, cups for eating and drinking as well.

Amazing accommodation - clean and comfortable. Rooms are lovely and warm. They have TV and tea/ coffee available.
The breakfast is super.
