Pretty much what you’d expect for the usual price, small rooms with run down amenities. The bathroom was fairly large but the shower didn’t drain well. Not really worth it for holiday weekends where the price is higher. We booked for the proximity to the geyser but in hindsight should’ve booked something in Selfoss instead.

The guesthouse is in a very convenient location very close to the golden circle. The rooms are fully equipped and very comfortable. There are plenty of parking spots outside and the rooms are easy to access all day, even late at night. I would definitely recommend it.

Just what we needed! Clean, spacious bathroom, easy check in.
It got chilly outside the bed covers and we couldn’t see where to adjust temp, but didn’t disrupt sleeping. There is a supermarket just 2 minutes away, a restaurant, and a cool lake. This is a small populated area though please note.

This was also the night we saw the Northern Lights (as right near to Pingvellir Park), just make sure you drive out of the street lit area.

Worth the value, especially considering Iceland prices.

Good for a quick night's sleep! A cute and quiet little area with a great restaurant 2 minutes away. Bathroom was clean and beds were comfy. The only downside was all of the towels and bedding smelled like mildew. This place will always hold a special place in my heart though, because it was where I saw the northern lights for the first time in my life!

We stayed at Bjork Guesthouse as we wanted to start our Golden Circle trip early, and it truly exceeded our expectations. The place was spotless and very cozy, with coffee and tea available, a fridge in the room, and even some sweets left for guests — such a thoughtful touch! We had two rooms, both spacious, tidy, and comfortable. The host’s communication was excellent, making everything easy and pleasant. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

Great room to stay in, but unfortunately the walls were very thin so you could hear the neighbours easily. Also the fridge made a lot of noise which even woke me up.
But the owners of the hotel were kind and easy to reach. They respond very fast. Also the facilities of the room were great and the room was very clean and new.

Bedding needs improvement
Good location for us but very basic accomodation for the price . We found the mattress too firm and the pillows are awful / I’d rather sleep on a rolled up jumper !
Nice facilities and easy to access

Very convenient location, quiet, good value
Good value (for Iceland anyway!) accommodation in a great central location for all the major sites - Golden Circle, Black sandy beach at Vik and West Iceland. Convenient enough for airport too.

The room was very clean and the bath sparkled. Everything looks new. Space was great. Beds were comfortable. It's an easy walk to restaurants. There was a teapot and coffee and tea, and a refrigerator. There's no kitchen in the building, at least to my knowledge.

We stopped in today for a late lunch even though we weren't staying at the hotel. The service, atmosphere and views are amazing. Our server was so sweet. I had the fish and chips. Locally caught Cod and hand battered and fried. It's was perhaps the best I've ever had. I highly recommend. My wife had the chicken salad and loved it. If you are driving by, definitely stop in for a meal and a history lesson about this area. It was an old boarding school from the late 20s and in modern times converted to a hotel / restaurant. The entire village was built around it and because of it. It was a fun stop.

We had the family apartment with our own kitchen and living room. It was perfect for the 5 of is. The staff is very friendly and helpful. In the lobby was anlot of antique furniture and some toys and books for kids. On our first night we saw the northern lights and it was the perfect location to check out geysir and thingvellir.

This venue has immense potential to be a lively and welcoming spot for the community or guests. However, it’s currently held back by a lack of maintenance and modernization. For instance, the billiard table is torn and unusable, and the dart setup only has a single dart—small details that make a big difference in user experience. With some basic repairs and upgrades, this place could become a real highlight rather than a forgotten corner.

Cool old-school guesthouse. The restaurant was very good. We stayed for one night and having the convenience in the same building was very helpful. Separate bathroom in hallway but all the guests are quick and courteous. A good stay at a reasonable price on the Golden Circle if you want to do the trip in two days as opposed to pushing it and doing it all in one day.

A building full of history, well-maintained both inside and out. The interior has many old photos and items that help us understand its history, which is wonderful. We stayed in a family three-bedroom suite in a private area, with beautiful views of the lake and mountains, and it had a private bathroom and kitchen. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. We could do simple cooking, making it feel like home. This was one of the best accommodations of our trip to Iceland.
