We only stayed at the hotel for one night, but it was a really enjoyable experience. The spa was wonderful, the standard room was roomy, breakfast tasted great, and there was a happy hour at the bar, but most importantly, the service was excellent, the team was very nice and helpful! Our dog felt great at the hotel, The only thing that could use some improvement is the menu; it’s a bit limited in options...

Hotel was clean and nice. Location is 1.5hr away to Vik etc but was a great stop for us coming down from the north. Didn’t manage to see any aurora here as the weather was cloudy.

Warm, cosy welcoming hotel with great service. Food was excellent and well presented and good choice of wines. Beds comfy but would prefer cotton rather than towelling sheets but that’s a personal preference not a negative. Great little spa with 2 outdoor hot tubs. Bonus was catching northern lights on two of the nights. Definitely worth staying a great location for exploring.

1. Make sure to walk about the historic sights. So interesting! Lovely little village. 2. The wait staff at the restaurant was so nice! 3. The food at the restaurants wasn’t great — way too salty and seasoned and the vegan option had no protein. Easy location — 2 hours from the airport and the drive was scenic.

Good and quiet. Room is not quite ready as the shampoo & shower gel had ran out and was not replaced. Otherwise, good Fosshotel level of service and rooms. Happy hour from 4-6pm, 900ISK for Gull draft beers. Wine pairing- mega pint of wine served. Haha

This was our second time staying at Hótel Húsafell. Both times have been amazing. The staff is all very friendly. The restaurant meals were delicious. The room and hotel is comfortable and cozy. The hotel can coordinate several great excursions. We did the lava cave tour and the cannon baths; both were great. They provide a Northern Lights wake-up call, which helped us catch the lights.

What an incredible stay! I was traveling with my grandmother and they went above and beyond to provide exceptional service. We saw the auroa borealis and had an incredible meal. Having hot baths on site is so so nice. The service is so great here and it is the people that make it special. THANK YOU!

My family stayed here for 2 nights and we had a great time. Food was fantastic, staff was very accommodating, 2 minute walk to the activity center. The pools were very relaxing. I highly suggest staying here!!

Hotel Husafell is a beautiful place to get away and enjoy the idyllic Iceland countryside. Lovely paths to walk on, gorgeous views, thermal heated pools, and an awesome happy hour and restaurant. The food was outstanding. The staff at the Husafell Hotel were also most helpful and kind. Maybe on my next visit there, I will be able to see the northern lights!

Stayed one night at the Hotel Husafell. It is a pretty little place about 90 minutes outside Reykjavik. Our room was clean and covered all the basics. Liked that it had a functioning window and door to step outside - that came in handy for the Northern Lights viewing (they ring you in the night if the lights are visible)! Wrote a separate review for the restaurant...which was fantastic! Exceeded all...

Best hotel Ive stayed in so far in Iceland. I've been to 6 hotels so far. The room and bathroom was a good size. The bathroom I had was themed a bit like a volcano. Plenty of electric plugs in the room, a TV. Breakfast was the best selection I've had so far. This hotel has an elevator which was great to not carry bags up. All great things on this hotel. Staff in the restaurant was not too helpful....

We stayed here overnight as part of 8 day Troll tours. Hotel is in the middle of nowhere with no other shops, restaurants around Rooms are nice sized with big windows, comfortable beds and clean. Bathroom was reasonable except for no shower door. There is a hotel restaurant with limited menu and average service. Food was good though.

Fix the shower, so small. Rest is very appealing, from service to housekeeping top noch. Real experience of stay in breath taking area incl wild hot tub and green house next door, perfect unwind. Overall a great find :) staff were helpful, friendly and gave good advice on our plans. Breakfast range was plentiful, hot tubs were a great treat after long hikes. Place was clean, modern and comfortable. Would stay here again if I’m back. One small downside is that the showers were abit small. Would strongly advise providing non-slip mats as I did nearly trip in the showers.

Really enjoyed our stay here – the hotel is modern and cozy, in a peaceful location. Yes, the rooms (especially the bathroom) are a bit small, but the included spa and breakfast more than make up for it. Great value for money and definitely recommend!

One of the best hotels I have ever been on. Great rooms and service, lovely food at the restaurant as well. They were extremely kind with helping our mothers birthday and coordinate it with the restaurant. Would maybe have loved a longer shower curtain to our room in 314, as water splayed everywhere. But that's a tiny thing compared to the rest of the lovely stay.

My husband loved this place. It’s always hard to rate these types of places because everybody’s looking for something different and it is very casual here. We loved how casual it was. The rooms were so cool. I would’ve loved to have had time to hide the area. We were very pleased with this place and would stay here again.

Hotel in a beautiful, quiet location. This hotel has an incredible view over the nearby river and the mountains beyond. It is very quiet there. The beds are very soft, and some noises from the neighbouring rooms can be heard. Breakfast was very good and in a room with a scenic view. No Dinner was served at the hotel (end of August), we ate buffet at the Hraunfossar Restaurant - Cafe 10 km away.

We loved our stay and your hotel. My only suggestion is to consider preserving an area for viewing the Aurora and the night sky. the area back by the hot tub would work well if the lights were changed to minimize the light interference.

One of the best hotels in Iceland, very friendly staff, Hot Tube was the best after all day hiking. Spacious rooms with great view, coffee mashine and kettle in the room, comfortable beds, great showers. Very clean. Luxury cosmetics in the showers. Tasty dinner and a good breakfast. We stayed our first two nights on Iceland there. Very comfortable place.

By far the best place I’ve stayed in Iceland. After staying in six different locations along the ring road, this one exceeded all expectations. The location and views are stunning, and the farmhouse-style home has such a warm, cozy feeling. The décor inside really captures that rustic charm. I can’t wait to stay here again.

We didn't stay in the place. We just stop for lunch in the restaurant. Cute place with a convenient location if you need to have lunch in the ring road. The food was nice, the burger was great. The meat was ok, the portion is a little small for the price. The service is good and places is really pretty.

I have stayed at the hotel twice, went a couple of times to the restaurant and now I went to the new baths and dinner. Everything was so good, food excellent, service excellent and the baths so cozy. They seem to be still working on the bath facilities but quite obvious that they are ambitious in providing an memorable experience for their customers.

The food at the hotel's restaurant is excellent. Try the Lentil Steak. It was a new gastronomic experience, especially in a wonderful way. High protein with an exquisite taste. The lamb that I had was super tender and all in a great experience to take the significant other for a fantastic meal.

Stopped for dinner on my way from Reykjavik to Akureyri. Had the “Hraunsnef Burger” and it both filled my stomach and pleased my soul for the remaining trip. Highly recommended for the whole family ... the best bite on Highway #1 between Reykjavik and Akureyri.

A nice bed and breakfast spot where you can use a kitchen if you want to cook. A restaurant is available and is not too expensive with good products.

Warm rooms with plenty of space for four and private bathroom too. Dinner and breakfast from the host was lovely and a real treat, eating with the other guests. Quiet and peaceful location that makes for a good aurora spot if the clouds keep away. Great location for husafell and reykholt.

The best accommodation of our whole trip! Our host was very welcoming and surprised us with homemade waffles, soup and very generous breakfast. As a bonus, you get to stay in an old farmhouse with a lot of history and there are many hiking opportunities close by. We wholeheartedly recommend to stay here!

The house is a charming old-style family house. Near the location you have nice hiking trails, or challenging ones, depending how fit you are :) You can go up a little and have a spectacular view towards Langjokull glacier. Comfortable, clean and well equipped guest house. Very friendly host that prepared a great breakfast for us, even though we were the only guests. A hot tub just outside the house was ready to use and had perfect temperature. It also had a kitchen that we were allowed to use to make dinner for ourselves. I would absolutely recommend this guest house!

Beautiful venue, would highly recommend. Had been doing the ring road in a van that would last couple of days was so wonderful to come into such a cleanup, aesthetic, and calm environment to spend the night again. Stayed 1 night in well located spot very near petrol station, supermarkets and even a 4.8 score restaurant for dinner. Rooms are clean, comfortable and fairly big size. Reception staff was extremely responsive when he spotted us having difficulty opening the main door fighting with strong gusty winds.

The hotel appeared appealing at first glance, but it fell short on some basic amenities, such as hooks for jackets, railings for the bunk beds in the family room, or simple storage options. The hotel is located on a plate Space you can’t see anything surround you even the small town. So you have to carry your own food here and you can cook by yourself. All around you is the dark sky for endless, and you can use the hot pot and the sunna room for a rest. They don’t offer breakfast, but they will offer you free coffee and milk and biscuits.

I booked the wrong room initially, but the hotel changed it readily via email, and the service was excellent. They even have a shared hot tub and sauna! 👍 You can cook in the village house, but it's not as spacious as a guesthouse. The breakfast selection was very extensive!

Stayed here for one night when our flight got cancelled. It was an amazing stay. The two guys who worked at the front desk were really nice and accommodating. They got everyone in in a timely manner (there were lots of people) and were kind even when people were disrespectful. They brought us food even though it was very late. I'm giving 3.5 points to the male receptionist for his excellent service. He was always proactive in asking if I needed help when he saw I had a problem. Booked a fly and drive in iceland and this was our hotel on the 25th of december. For some reason our booking agency canceled our reservation so we would not have a room on the first day of christmas. But the owner helped us anyway,and gave us a room! What a Chad! Rooms are decent,and the bathroom was great. Breakfast was also really good.

A fantastic stay at Hotel Borgarnes! The rooms are spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with everything you need for a relaxing visit. Basic rooms with an excellent shower and comfy beds. We missed dinner but believe it was excellent as well. Decent spread for breakfast. No cappuccino machine. But have coffee. Excellent stop over to the north. Special mention to Mario at the reception who made an extra effort and very hospitable. Will def stop over again, when we come next to iceland.

Our stay at the Homestay was fair. The premises overall are lovely and nestled in a nice, quiet part of Borgarnes, though not too quiet with a few shops around. It is right on a nice path alongside the water, and the restaurant that is part of the establishment has lovely waterfront patio seating. The restaurant was amazing, and the staff were fantastic and friendly. The Homestay itself was just okay...

We only used the Homestay, restaurant closed. But the Homestay is a nice and cozy place. Right at the oceanfront. Very easy check in and out! Some rooms have steep stairs.

Service was friendly. We really enjoyed the fish buffet. Atmosphere is nice and quiet with lovely view of the harbor. We had no reservation and only had wait about 10 minutes as a tour was coming. They have quaint attic waiting area.

We only had dinner here. The seafood soup is amazing but other dishes were a bit patchy. Generally the food was richer than we had expected. The location, right by the sea, is delightful as is the interior decor.

Anders and the staff were wonderful and accommodating and happy to share a very charming dry wit. The dinner for 9 of us was delicious after a long day of touring. We especially loved the Lamb Shank. Wow! As others have said, the view is amazing and worth the drive. We were fortunate to have a beautiful evening to walk the shore after dinner. Recommend for a tasty meal and some laughs!

Very clean, tidy lodgings, but the doors let to much light in. This made it so you couldn't totally darken the room which made it hard to get some good sleep. Breakfast was good tho there was some very nice freshly baked bread available.

Very isolated and quiet with views of river and mountains was originally a fishing lodge with great history. They checked us in early and made us feel at home as weather was very bad. Small but cosy rooms great food from local farm. Expensive but really enjoyed our brief stay.

A great place, isolated and quite but still 7 minutes drive from the town of Borgarnes (a VERY small town, pretty much empty after 8pm). The hotel offers an included breakfast and a dinner service. Beautiful house and beautiful area, wifi in the rooms may be weak depending on the room, but very strong in the living room that also offers coffee and tea throughout the evening.

We stayed one night at this hotel, the hotel is family run & is staffed. They have a hot tub & sauna available as well. The rooms are quiet, clean & cozy. Nothing super amazing about this hotel but decent. The views are pretty good from here as a river runs beside & they have a nice fountain out front. They didn't shovel the snow until much later in the day. Ample parking here for free.

Lovely staff. We really just needed a place to stay for the evening while traveling around the country. Location was easy to access for us.
