Service was friendly. We really enjoyed the fish buffet. Atmosphere is nice and quiet with lovely view of the harbor. We had no reservation and only had wait about 10 minutes as a tour was coming. They have quaint attic waiting area.

Much too expensive for what it is. Nobody there when you arrive, no TV, very small sink, water smells strange, no proper lights, beds not comfortable, you can hear everything from your neighbour...I didn't like it at all, very sorry but cannot recommend it.

Our stay at the Homestay was fair. The premises overall are lovely and nestled in a nice, quiet part of Borgarnes, though not too quiet with a few shops around. It is right on a nice path alongside the water, and the restaurant that is part of the establishment has lovely waterfront patio seating. The restaurant was amazing, and the staff were fantastic and friendly. The Homestay itself was just okay. We did the private room with an en suite bathroom. The entrance was in the back on the building facing the restaurant. There were large spiderwebs with very large spiders on the deck leading to the room. The room itself was pretty small, and it was pretty plain. Everything was clean, but it was very basic. The water coming from the faucets smelled strongly of sulphur (only place in our trip that had water smelling), and we were happy we did not need to shower since we had at a spa. It did the job, but we probably wouldn’t be eager to stay again. We would 100% dine here again though.

We only used the Homestay, restaurant closed. But the Homestay is a nice and cozy place. Right at the oceanfront.

Very easy check in and out!
Some rooms have steep stairs.

We only had dinner here. The seafood soup is amazing but other dishes were a bit patchy. Generally the food was richer than we had expected. The location, right by the sea, is delightful as is the interior decor.

Anders and the staff were wonderful and accommodating and happy to share a very charming dry wit. The dinner for 9 of us was delicious after a long day of touring. We especially loved the Lamb Shank. Wow! As others have said, the view is amazing and worth the drive. We were fortunate to have a beautiful evening to walk the shore after dinner. Recommend for a tasty meal and some laughs!

I had the fish, husband had the chicken… we both ate every bite! This is night 13 in Iceland for us, and this was by far the best meal we’ve had. Even the staff was hilarious and great for conversation. We ate one other night in Borgarnes, and I wish we had come here the first time instead of the other place we ate (which was lovely, just not special.) The views were breathtaking, and the coffee was a phenomenal end to the meal.

Fish soup was amazing. Boyfriend had lamb for the first time and he ate every last bite. The bread is delicious. Our server was a hoot, giving us grief for being from the US. We loved this meal! Oh and the setting is just gorgeous.

The room overlooking the bay on the ground floor is just fantastic and what a view. Fab sunset, Aurora Borealis if your lucky. The restaurant is just superb and we had lovely food, even vegetarian. had great options.

Very nice crafty exhibits that you walk through. One, interactive on the history of Iceland and one on a particularly gruesome saga. Both interesting and fun. Nice little gift shop. Okay small restaurant upstairs. Worth the visit.

Beautiful inside with the rocks being visible in the building. The soup was delicious! And the staff very nice.

It was really nice. It seems to be your only choice on a winter afternoon, but it turns out to be a good one as well. We have really enjoyed our lunch there

Great place for lunch. They have a vegetarian buffet, and have some menu options that can be made vegan. I had a vegan burger which was very satisfying. They have soy or dairy milk for coffee. The restaurant is large, and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. It's also very close to the water, we went for a nice after meal walk to take in the views.

The best fish soup I’ve ever had! The burger was also very good.
The place cosy, nice and clean. Staff was very friendly and professional. It’s a nice combination of restaurant and museum/gift shop. It’s totally worth to visit. Thank you for such a nice experience!
