Hotel Aurelia in Milano Marittima

The hotel is beautiful, with large gardens, a big swimming pool, and plenty of outdoor space. The room was spacious and very clean. However, there are some downsides: the beach club is extremely expensive for those who did not choose the all-inclusive option. The hotel itself is pricey, and on top of that you need to pay an extra €20 for a chair and umbrella, plus additional charges for towels.

Breakfast was excellent and truly impressive, but the other meals were not on the same level. We went for dinner one evening and were very confused about the pricing, as the menu was not included. We felt uncomfortable because it seemed almost offensive to ask about the cost of dinner. Unfortunately, something very unpleasant happened: we ordered two complete dinners, supposedly €50 each (starter and main course), but we were charged €125 in total. The dinner was certainly not worth €50 each, especially considering that there are much better restaurants nearby.

When checking out, we complained about the incorrect charge, but nothing was resolved—they refused to adjust the bill. We left feeling very dissatisfied that they overcharged us for a meal we didn’t actually consume as described.

There is also a language barrier, as many staff members don’t speak English, which is understandable of course, but when we tried to explain the situation it felt as if they thought we were lying. Some staff members provided very poor service and were rude.

My advice: do not have dinner at this hotel!
