I tried changing showers thinking maybe it was just one that wasn’t working, but none of them had warm water. In the end I had no choice but to take a cold shower, which completely ruined the experience. For a place like a thermal bath, having hot water in the showers should really be basic.

Hotel has great swimming pools and termal place and good position.My room needs to be rennovated but functional.Great hairdryer provided, never found in any other 4 stars resort.Staff is very professional and helpful.Good breakfast.We will be back.

I know Hotel Petrarca since years and in particular, living not far away from Montegrotto, I often go there for the daily SPA service. The pools and the SPA services are huge and truly well done to me even if, during the years, they tend to be a little worn-out and in need of update (even if always clean!). For this kind of daily access, I found the reception a little confusing as very little information was shared on how to “navigate” accross the building. The cherry on top of my relaxing day: the 50 minutes massage in the expert hands of Miss Manola!

As a family we come here for over 3 years! We leave in London and we got a holiday property not far from the hotel. The pool is great for the kids but is not as clean as other places! The staff is not helpful at all! As this year new rules come into effect we were not aware of them as mandatory caps in the pool and is you exit the pool you cannot enter again! We shod be informed when you buy the ticket of all rules as we pay £140 just for the entry.unfortunately you lost us and we won’t be back in the future due to rude staff and racist porter!!! Avoid if you want a perfect time!

If you tell me something when I purchase the tickets, happy to follow your instructions.
I paid €130 for all family and I have 1 year old baby, I normally go home and have a nap in the middle of the day, as everyone around.
The portal on my way in, he is telling me that he doesn’t know me, but I know him even from the previous year. After I send my wife at reception he is telling me “no me frega” and tells the other guy that I may steal something. Very rude language, I understand Italian but I cannot speak. He made me go the the other parking as well as parking full, but few cars was out in the same time and I’ve checked after and lots of parking spaces. Very racist, very rude.
I came in holiday, to relax more for the kids to enjoy the swimming pool, me and my wife done massage and mud packing, I come to spend my time with pleasure, not to steal from you my friend and specially someone like you to speak to me like that.
Never come again!

We visit this hotel every year and can’t wait to get back. Winter and summer seasons are a delight. The pools are great, and the service is excellent. The staff is very kind and professional. The location in Montegrotto is central and there are great places to visit nearby. And there’s delicious gelato in the dining room.

We visited yesterday to use their spa facilities and have lunch. The parking attendant is quite grouchy and tried to tell me off because we hadn't reversed enough into the parking space. I explained to him in Italian that I needed to open the boot of the car and that the car would be reversed more when I had done that. The pools were ok but the hydro massage jets were on timers which is not brilliant. Again another crabby faced young woman serving at the bar. We won't come back as there are better spa hotels in the area.

Terme Abano-Montegrotto is just 15 minutes by train from Padua (Podova). A great place for a relaxing day trip. But the thermal baths are owned by hotels there. And very few offer day tickets without spa or medical (mud) treatments. One hotel that provides pool only day tickets is Hotel Petrarca (Piazza Roma 23). The ticket gives access to two large pools that both extend from indoors to outdoors. The water temperature is around 36 or 37 centigrade, and it is mineral water. There is also a steam room and sauna, and a bar providing drinks and light meals. The grounds are attractively planted with trees giving partial shade. And there are plenty of loungers to lay out on. Week day tickets are €22 and weekend tickets €32 for the whole day.
