Terme Preistoriche Resort & Spa in Montegrotto Terme

The surroundings of the wooden cabin are beautiful and very private, which made the stay feel peaceful and secluded. The staff were kind and professional, personally showing us around the room and explaining all the facilities in detail.

The spa area, including the thermal pools, sauna and swimming pools, was excellent as always. Compared to other local thermal spas, the facilities are newer, larger and offer a wider variety of options.

Breakfast was also a highlight. It can be delivered to the room at 9 a.m., which is a lovely touch, and there is also a richer selection available in the restaurant, with both savory and sweet options. Overall, the service throughout the stay was outstanding.

However, the main downside was the interior design and functionality of the wooden cabin itself. The layout and furnishings are not very well thought out. The bed is extremely small and uncomfortable for two adults. At night, the blue light from the air conditioning control panel is very bright and disturbing. There is no bedside table next to the bed, nor even a nearby table, which makes it inconvenient to place personal items.

Additionally, the room does not provide slippers, toothbrushes or toothpaste. The sink area is very small and does not offer enough space, especially for women to do makeup comfortably.

Considering the price level, the overall quality of the room’s hardware and interior facilities feels below expectations.

our experience was fantastic. I booked a Day Spa entrance for me and my mother, as a gift for her birthday, and she has had the best time being ‘cuddled’ by all the Terme have to offer. additionally she really enjoyed her massage & treatments with Martina who “treated her like a queen” (direct quote (:) so thank you to the amazing staff!

My boyfriend and I stayed here in December 2024 just before Christmas and we had an AMAZING time. We were hugely impressed by the hotel itself, which is beautifully decorated, and situated in lovely parkland, and our room, which was spacious and comfortable. The staff of the hotel were all lovely and welcoming. The two swimming pools of the hotel were wonderful, and we enjoyed using the various hydromassage features positioned around the pools. We made the most of the discount offer for massages and we booked four massages each, all of which were carried out with care and professionalism. I’d like to thank Martina in particular for this. We also enjoyed going to the daily aquagym sessions led by Federica as they were great, strenuous workouts. Thank you Federica! Importantly, one thing that really struck me was that the entire hotel, from the pool areas to the bedrooms, was spotlessly clean, so I’d also like to thank the cleaning staff for that. I would highly recommend Terme Preistoriche to anyone looking for an upmarket and memorable spa holiday and I can’t wait to go back.

We were very burned out and jet lagged, came for a spa day, and were extremely excited & impressed by the value of the day pass. The staff were super accommodating, and coming from out of the country we felt very welcomed & well taken care of — every single staff member we met went out of their way with great hospitality. I had a massage from Julia & couldn’t explain how wonderful it was in Italian, but it was perfect. The sauna space is clean and has a pleasant view. The garden is really nice, even in the rain. & restaurant / bar staff are super kind & have great suggestions. All around a perfect day.

We visited with my extended family and spend new year’s eve at this lovely place. I have to say the service is excellent, very professional staff. The selected live music was top notch, very good selection of food delicately prepared and served. Rooms are clean and warm, and the pools are amazingly relaxing and inviting. I am definetely going back to revisit and absolutely reccomend it to people who value quality vacations. Excellent! Keep up the good work!

Very nice experience. It’s three different experiences. There are the very nice lodges off the main hotel, which is a very very nice time. Then there are the regular budget hotel rooms. Then just day passes to the pools. The lodges have their own amenities such as aa jacuzzi or sauna or steam room based on which you choose. They also include a bracelet that gives you access to the Nero spa at any time for free. The regular hotel does not come with this. This was a nice surprise and a highlight of the trip. It is a very nice and beautiful spa. The pools are great. Not crowded at all. The pool bar makes a great coffee and snacks. It caters to guests and day visitors. I found the hotel restaurant to be lacking and much preferred walking ten minutes into town for food. I preferred breakfast at the pool bar over the hotel breakfast. The German tourists were big fans of the buffet and beelined for it right in the beginning of dinner.i saw the British, Italians, and other Americans found it off putting that dishes were not refilled after being devoured in the first five minutes and individual orders weren’t really taken in order of when they were sat down, but rather in proximity of the kitchen order. I waited about thirty minutes to put my order in even tho I didn’t really touch the buffet. For those of us who just wanted a quick easy and tasty dinner, it was not that. I did not try the pool restaurant for dinner, it likely would have been a more pleasant experience. Both “mama” restaurants in town were good. Everyone was very nice. The reception staff especially. There’s typical language barriers and things aren’t explained very clearly as in amenities and parking spots and where to go in the beginning, but these were just small hiccups on a nice stay. The day visitors seem to constantly go to the wrong entrance to check in, some signs in Italian would likely be helpful. My only real complaint is the toilet paper. The lodges are an expensive experience compared to the more budget friendly day pass or hotel rooms. But the toilet paper in the lodges was very very rough.
