Detailed review:
We arrived in the evening in hard rain and had trouble finding a parking space. The spaces for the hotel were already full, but we found a public parking spot 2min away.
We arrived and did check-in and asked for a recommendation for dining. The personnel was very friendly and helpful. (more on dining later)
At the reception we saw and absolute antiquity of telephone system, which was pretty neat. Unfortunately everything in the building was old as well.
We entered the room and were greeted by the typical smell of old italian buildings with a moldy undertone. The room was sparcely furnitured. Bed, table, small TV, wardrobe, central air conditioning. The room was decently sized and seems large, since it is so empty. The bed was alright, italian tourist standard, two mattresses, slightly squeaky. The main room was decently clean. We went out for dinner to the recommended restaurant. (conchiglia azzurra, very simple beach restaurant, mostly frequented by locals, truly excellent food, bring dictionnary)
After we came back and entered the bathroom we found it smelled disgusting. Most surfaces were cleaned, but the room was badly maintained. The smell was of mold and some old/bad pipes and drains. The bathroom has no windows, but a ventilation, which did not help with the smell at all. Toilet and sink were clean and ok, there was mold on some bathroom tiles. The shower was terrible. Moldy and discolored silicone fixtures, extremely cramped (1 person can barely turn) and the showerhead came loose during showering as the fixture was cracked. The water pressure was abysmal.
We slept alright, but the beds were a bit squeaky. Wi-Fi was terrible, not even enough for sending fotos or watching youtube and disconnected about every 20-30min.
Breakfast was meh. We were seated but could not directly take from the buffet. We could choose from italian staples which were brought to the table. The waiter did not understand we wanted espressi and first tried to bring caffé americano and then came around with cappucino. The coffee was not freshly ground and tasted lacking. The food was cheap but ok.

Final Verdict:
I would not recommed this hotel to anyone. The experience was not good and for what we got we payed way too much.
