Carlton Hotel in Pescara

The hotel was not clean. The first impression as you are walking down the hallway to the room, the rugs are absolutely FILTHY! The room was not as clean either, extremely dusty. Air conditioner was not working. They shut it off to save energy. The only problem was, you couldn’t open the window properly. The first night, the window/door to the balcony came off the hinge. We had to prop it up with the suitcases to keep it in place. The next morning the hotel staff re-attached the window to the hinge. They new exactly what the problem was when we mentioned it to the front desk clerks.
Good location! Beautiful view of the Adriatic Sea! Convenient to beach access and walkways. Restaurants were within walking distance. Breakfast was good! The hotel restaurant was closed even though when we got there the menu was posted on the door with hours of operation.
Staff was friendly. Parking was available with a fee.

On the first day of our stay, the air conditioning started to leak through our ceiling and it started to drip down on the floor. The receptionist told us it’s “normal” in summer, we requested a new room but they were fully booked. They just gave us towels and kind of repaired it the next day, but we still had a wet patch on our ceiling and the air conditioning didn’t fully work for the rest of our stay. They did not offer us any discount or anything. Also, the breakfast could be better, they did not have any vegetables, the scrambled eggs were terrible etc. Also, only one receptionist spoke english.

Nice people nice service but awful bed to sleep on
, I felt I was sleeping on a tatami or the floor, the bed is what I call rock solid ...
same for the pillow, dunno with what they are made... I woke up with a terrible neck pain that persisted all the day
Adding to that even if you cut the light you have still a very bright blue light coming from the air conditioning system

Won’t come back that is certain
