Hotel Plaza in Salerno

This hotel is directly across from the train station in Salerno, all the rental car agencies are in the same block and the hotel sits directly on the main pedestrian walking street in Salerno. So the Location is terrific in terms of shops, restaurants and travel options. The breakfast had nice options, good coffee and pretty decent quality food with nice service. The halls, carpet, elevator and furniture are all in need of updating. The room had a king bed and a twin, hanging space, area for luggage, desk, a safe, bathroom was tight but fairly typical. Everything was clean, enough lighting, outside noise was not an issue, some room to room noise but overall quiet enough. New carpet, paint and bed coverings throughout would make a huge difference. Service overall a bit mused: at front desk was flat- not overly welcoming or friendly and they kept you waiting for a long staff conversation which felt strange. But the service at breakfast was very helpful and friendly. I was fine staying here 1 night, and the price was very affordable.
