Reviews
The room was spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated, with a balcony that allowed me to enjoy the stunning sunsets every evening. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the sound of the waves at night made for a peaceful and relaxing sleep.
Breakfast was another highlight – a rich selection of fresh fruits, pastries, local cheeses, and more, all served in a lovely dining area with panoramic views of the coastline.
We also had the pleasure of enjoying dinner at the hotel restaurant several times, and the service each evening was outstanding. The staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, and every meal was delicious and beautifully presented. It truly added to the overall experience and made our evenings special.
One of my favorite parts of the stay was the private beach accessible by elevator. It felt exclusive and serene, perfect for a quiet day by the sea. The hotel also has a great location for exploring nearby towns like Vietri sul Mare, Amalfi, and Ravello.
I highly recommend Lloyd's Baia Hotel to anyone visiting the Salerno or Amalfi Coast area. It's a perfect mix of luxury, comfort, and authentic Italian hospitality. I can't wait to come back!
We had two young kids and they put us on the absolute worst floor, full of construction including the rooms that flanked ours. From 6AM forward, we had drilling from both sides. Was absurd that they even put people in that room, but then I remember how racist they were and this was a power trip opportunity for them.
The room was incredibly out-dated, small and uncomfortable. The bed was very old and ended up hurting my back because of the poor quality.
The club in this hotel was going all night and we could barely sleep as the rooms are FAR from sound proof.
The breakfast shouldn't be called a breakfast...it was just terrible..one of the worst we've ever had. If you wan't machine coffee and stale everything...in Italy...then you're in luck.
I can go on and on about how terrible this stay was, but I think I've said enough...if you still decide to stay here, well...I'm not sure what you are expecting, but between this review and many others, I urge you to find a different hotel.
Edit: they replied saying that the work was the floor below…it was not. It was directly next door. Many shirtless Italian men working directly beside our room and we had young kids with us. Unacceptable that they’re now trying to cover this up. Another reason to avoid this place.
From the moment we arrived, the reception we received was cold and dismissive.
Despite having small children, we were assigned to a floor undergoing heavy renovation. Construction started as early as 6:00 AM, with loud drilling coming from both neighboring rooms. It was baffling that guests were even placed in that section of the hotel at all.
The room itself left much to be desired. It was cramped, outdated, and the mattress was so worn out that I woke up with back pain every morning. Between that and the pounding bass from the nightclub that went late into the night, restful sleep was nearly impossible.
Breakfast was another low point. Very minimal options, poor quality, and a far cry from the fresh, flavorful offerings one would expect in Italy. The coffee came from a machine and the pastries were stale—definitely not the start to the day we had hoped for.
We tried to make the best of it for our kids' sake, but this hotel simply failed to meet even basic expectations. I rarely write reviews, but felt compelled to share our experience so others can make a more informed choice. There are far better options nearby—do yourself a favor and choose one of them.
Vietri is a short, safe walk from the hotel - I felt very safe both at the hotel and surrounding area.
The room was a bit disappointing. We had a view of the ship yard, which was noisy and bright at night. The room was a bit smaller than anticipated, and the AC did not work well, if at all. The room was clean, and there was room service each day.
My main problem with the hotel is that it seems to be more of an event center, with hosting weddings and other events, as well as having the disco located down below. Between the noise of the events, and the disco starting up at midnight, there is no rest to be had at this hotel. If I were a younger traveler, I'd probably be down there partying with everyone, but at this stage of my life, sleeping is a higher priority, and you don't get that at this hotel.
The food was sub-par and not what I expected. Breakfast certainly had a great spread of pastries but if you want anything other than that, it's hit or miss. They had 2 coffee machines that were unpredictable in quality. I had lunch and a dinner there and they were just "ok." Service for dinner was shocking - there was one guy who could take your order, despite another server being there. The order guy would get busy, and we felt forgotten about.
In short, it was convenient and clean, but loud and noisy. I would not stay here again.
The staff seemed to have little knowledge of the property, and some receptionists—particularly a blonde-haired girl—were unpleasant and unprofessional. We also had issues with the heating, which was controlled from the reception. Despite calling twice, including once during the night, it was never turned off. We had to sleep with the balcony open, only to wake up covered in insect bites.
For the price paid, we had higher expectations. On a positive note, breakfast was very satisfying, and the girl serving it was friendly and attentive. I hope if we return, the service will improve. I strongly recommend better staff training, especially regarding the more expensive rooms.
