Phi Hotel Bologna in Bologna

Great location. However the power went out, and we lost wifi. They eventually fixed the power but would not fix the wifi until the next morning. I communicated my frustration with the power and wifi situation to the receptionist when she asked how our stay was and she didn’t seem to care, which was also odd.

Side note, I stayed at the appartment logia and there were very loud neighbors and the church bell rings every hour. If you’re a light sleeper, you’ll be woken up frequently.

I have edited my review slightly out of courtesy to the GM who apologized for the poor experience we had at this hotel.
That being said, I wouldn't say this is a 4 star hotel if we were to compare it to others in the same rank.
Staff: We are digital nomads so for the last year we have stayed in many hotels and this is one of the first poor reviews I'm writing. Apart from the General Manager and the young guy who took our bags, the reception staff here are not particularly friendly. Barely audible greetings, no eye contact, no “how was your stay”, etc. One person in particular was extremely unpleasant.
The room: it was an apartment up the street from the hotel which was a bit random. However, it was clean, newly renovated, but dark in terms of natural light and had a hard mattress. Two things that are important to us to get right.
Location: Location is great.
Conclusion: As seasoned travelers in all levels of hotels, the thing that really makes the experience for us are the staff. I rather stay a little further outside the center and have a welcoming friendly team who are problem solvers if there is an issue, such as parking....

Very disappointing experience indeed. Had booked a three night stay in November, but had to cancel due to the earthquakes in Italy as other bookings had been cancelled as well. Al Cappello Rosso simply refused to cancel and refund, sticking to the policy to the letter, showing no flexibility, no understanding, no heart and no common business.Wouldn't give them my business no matter how nice the hotel - these are bad people who run a bad business
