My elderly parents were really impressed by the modern industrial design – it was a refreshing experience for them! The location is great, about a 10-minute walk from the central station

The only slight inconvenience was that neither the front desk nor the restaurant accepted cash at all, which wasn't ideal as not everyone has a credit card. It would be great if they could allow payment with legal tender

The room was great, and the front desk staff were very warm and responsible. There are plenty of common areas downstairs, and it's quite close to the train station. Overall, it's excellent and worth recommending.

Our room was quiet and comfortable, and the cleanliness was excellent, with timely and thorough housekeeping. All the public areas felt safe and easily accessible

Restaurant service was good, and the breakfast spread was plentiful with a wide variety of choices. Dinner wait times weren't long, and the food tasted great

The young lady at the front desk was learning Chinese and made a wonderful effort to communicate with us, offering practical and friendly advice and service

The hotel is located across from the central station so it is handy for those who need to get the train in or have arrived from the airport. If you need to get to the centre, it’s about 20mins walk away

Just opposite of the Bologna centrale, very clean hotel, nice and spacious rooms, everything is perfect. The most impressive is the way receptionist persons helped me. Especially Francesca she superb helpful .

I thought it would be noisy being right across from the train station, but surprisingly, it was very quiet

The location of the hotel is good (7 mins walk to the central station and 1. 5 km from the historical center etc. But the staff at the front desk seemed a bit cool (those serving at the breakfast place were fat better)

The facade of the hotel building is not beautiful (in my opinion) but inside is a good hotel. We would definitely stay there again. It's convenient to the train station and to the city centre

The hotel is within a 10-minute walk from Modena Station, offering excellent access to the old town. The room was spacious, and the bathtub was especially large, perfect for soothing after a long day of travel

Excellent location just opposite to central station but 15-20mins to Piazza Maggiore/the old town centre. Service was very good, especially concierge. We are on the 7/F and got a view overlooking the city

We had a wonderful stay at Starhotels Excelsior. The room was small, but comfortable and well-appointed, but what really stood out was the excellent service

The ratio of price and quality is top ten! The only downsides are that late at night due to the proximity of the main station, it might not be the smartest thing to sit alone (although we didn't have any problems or saw any potential problems, there were no suspicious guys, incidents, etc

The only issue was the sink drainage was not good and overflown. Overall good experience and recommended

A comfortable 1km walk sees you in the center of the Old Town and amidst the sites and sounds of a bustling city. The hotel rooms were well appointed and the bed comfortable with decent blackout curtains

Overall ok, but if you like to sleep quietly this is not the place. Almost no soundproofing, you can literally understand each word your neighbour is saying. Location is good, clean, small rooms with all you need

Located next to student apartments, the environment is excellent, the rooms are very clean, and the price is very reasonable. My friend and I live here together, and the rooms are cleaned daily

Having two supermarkets nearby made it very convenient for daily essentials. The area was calm and peaceful, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring the city

The room is quite good, but European hotels do not provide disposable slippers and toothbrushes, so you need to bring them by yourself. The breakfast on the first floor of the hotel is average with not much variety

Parking option out the front is free but limited spaces. Location not the greatest as 20 minutes walk away from the centre

Couldn’t fault the hotel for our 3 night stay, location perfect…10-15 minute walk down Bologna’s picturesque streets into the centre

The breakfast offerings were varied and included fruit and cereal as well as the standard cooked options. The bar area on the first floor was welcoming and the free tapas was another nice touch

15 minute/€25 taxi ride from the airport and 5 min drive from the train station. Roof terrace was lovely to sit on with great views of the city and can take your own food and drink up

Nico was a star, and served with perfection each day! The cups are amazing too! Perhaps a bean to cup auto dispenser of various coffees might ease the pressure on staff and add to the experience for the guests

The hot selection was bacon and scrambled eggs, all with ample quantities during the various times we chose to dine. This is requested from two staff "roving" the rooms, clearing tables, making guest happy etc

Beautiful experience at i Portici Hotel. From the moment we checked in to checkout everything has been great : the staff greeted us in the most courteous and welcoming manner, made the stay a wonderful experience

The room we were assigned was #229 and the loft bed may be an issue for some, but it gave the room a quirkiness you don’t expect from a hotel. This was a fantastic option for a place to stay in Bologna

A historic hotel in the very center of Bologna, a cozy warm room with everything you need: air conditioning, minibar, safe, hairdryer, electric kettle. Good breakfast, you can also have lunch and dinner in the restaurant

Beautiful hotel just steps from Piazza Maggiore. I travel frequently for work and have stayed in many hotels in central Bologna, and this is among the best value

Excellent hotel, the interior gives a special charm of antiquity, the bed/blanket/pillows are excellent, there is hot water, you can take a bath, heating - the room is very warm (this is very important in February) Price, quality - ideal!!! I recommend it if you are not bothered by old furniture and the noise of the air conditioner

This hotel is in an excellent location quite close to Bologna Centrale station. The rooms are compact and clean and comfortable.

We absolutely loved our stay in this boutique hotel. Short walk from the train station and twenty minute walk from the plaza. Room was clean and tidy,cosy sufficient for our two night stay on our little trip of Italy

My only one small if I had to pick was they was no shelf in the actual shower for our products , but not a deal breaker. If you want an authentic stay in an Italian boutique hotel, please give this place a go

Only a five-minute walk from the train station and a beautiful setting. There was a spa and a small gym. The room was cozy and a little tight, but had a fridge and pot to make hot water

OK this hotel is situated in the depths of Bologna University area in a somewhat shady grafitti ridden street and yes there are some questionable dealing people outside so pls take this into consideration, but and a big BUT, the Hotel is great, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are amazing (everyone was so so helpful in whatever we asked for)

The guest service was amazing. The room was small but perfect, clean, and beautiful. Breakfast was so delicious, fresh, and so many delicious fresh baked yummies. Amazing location, close to all

While the street that the hotel entrance is located on is not the best- there are people loitering around it most hours of the day- the same can be said for a large areas of the city itself

As for the hotel itself- staff were absolutely fantastic, including the bartender & the lady in charge of breakfast, but especially the young lady working the front desk

I recently stayed at Hotel Port Mamolo in Bologna and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is conveniently located near all the main sites in Bologna. The property was clean with a beautiful garden area

The hotel is conveniently located near the old town-just a short walk. More importantly, the staffis sweet and VERY helpful. Claudia went above and beyond to help us with our lost luggage.

For a hotel that is located near the city center it was very spacious. This was our second trip to Bologna as a family. In addition to my wife and I we had a 2 1/2 year old and a 6 month old baby
