Hotel Lanzoni in Cervia

Lanzoni, no thanks.

This hotel caters exclusively to a very elderly clientele. The building is visibly dated, and the recently expanded dining room has been questionably designed, completely out of harmony with the rest of the hotel.

The tableware is unacceptable: ceramic plates that look like they're from the 1960s, with completely ruined and scratched bottoms. Even after washing, they remain visibly black. Personally, I find eating off of such plates disgusting.

The rooms are tiny, and cleanliness leaves much to be desired: dust on the TV, headboard, and furniture, hair in the shower, and even amenity kits already opened by previous guests. Unacceptable.

The pool? Cold. No attention to guest comfort.

When I booked (made two days in advance), I was asked for a deposit or credit card number. When I failed to provide them, I was told there was only one room available… a blatant lie, considering the hotel was half empty, if not less.

The only positive aspect? The meals: good, well-cooked, and with adequate portions. It's the only redeeming feature, but unfortunately, it's not enough to make up for the rest.

After the second day, we decided to leave. I really don't understand how some people can give this establishment 5 stars: perhaps they're longtime guests, loyal for decades, or they've simply never experienced such a modern, well-run hotel.
