La Valletta Relais in Bergamo

This truly was a beautiful experience. The family owned business was provides a level of attention to detail that makes you feel so incredibly welcomed and cared for as a guest. The hotel is nestled into the mountains and yet is walking distance from several restaurants and sites. The breakfast was incredible with a selection of local cheeses in addition to the usual breakfast staples and freshly prepared espresso drinks. I would definitely return here for the hotel and the overall experience. They also offer transportation which made our stay so convenient

La Valletta is a real gem of a place. Set on the hillside above Bergamo it enjoys fantastic views over the surrounding hills and mountains as well as the town. The hosts are warm and friendly, the rooms exceptionally spacious and comfortable and the breakfast buffet was simple but lovely with the option of eggs and bacon cooked to order. Mario, the owner provides a free shuttle service to and from the town but also pick ups and drop off to the airport and the train station. There are some lovely countryside walks around the hotel. I would love to visit again.

A quiet and authentic Italian small hotel. Clean room with a large bathroom, lovely breakfast with a view to the valley. Owners are very kind and professional. They offered me a ride from the airport and to the railway station. A walking distance from the old town.

If you are planning to visit Bergamo, Italy, you should stay at La Valletta Relais. It’s a beautiful country side family owned B &B, located near the Old Town. Mario, Graziella and Giacomo will ensure you have an amazing experience.

What a gem!! Bergamo was a half-hearted, 1-day visit we added to our trip since we were flying into Milan in the evening & yet we were SO pleasantly surprised! The old town, which is walking distance from La Valleta, is beautiful with a nice handful of shops & restaurants. La Valleta is a lovely hillside Villa with a small handful of rooms & very nice & kind proprietors. But what really stands out is their breakfast! It has the usual staples (fruit, yogurt, cheese, meats, cakes) but they offer you made-to-order eggs that were OUTSTANDING. My 15 y.o. son said his scrambled eggs were "the best" he's ever had & my fried egg was exceptional too. I'd love to learn their secret as I make eggs frequently & have never come close to this quality.
Old town is walkable from the Inn, but we didn't get to take advantage of this since our time was limited.
My only small complaint is that the walls are paper thin. At 3 am the couple next to us started talking to eachother loudly & it was like they were sitting at the foot of our bed. It was such a bummer to be woken up several times by neighbors when we were so exhausted from our travels. Having said this, I would gladly return & just hope for kinder & more considerate people nearby.

A really beautiful, relaxing and friendly hotel. Jacko, Gratsielle and Mario made our stay so enjoyable and were always available. Room was lovely and breakfast so good to have on the outside terrace. Relaxing with a glass of wine and listening to the sounds of the valley was just so nice. A great host family run hotel in the countryside above the old town by of Bergamo.

We have just had a wonderful holiday at La Valletta. Everything was just perfect. Room, breakfast, airport transfers and most of all excellent hospitality. We highly recommend. Thank you so much for a very enjoyable stay. We will return xx

Really nice hotel, the staff were very welcoming and friendly, very accommodating booking a restaurant for us at short notice the day we arrived and always very cheerful. The shuttle service from the hotel to the old town was useful, and the walk was also quite easy and only about 20 minutes (but on a narrow road). Breakfast was delicious, lots of good juice options! Really enjoyed our stay and would stay again if we went back to Bergamo. Also picked us up from the train station and dropped us off at the airport for a reasonable price.
