Mirabell in Bergamo

The room was cosy and warm. That being said, we had a very bad experience with the ‘hotel’ staff. Despite it being called a ‘hotel’ in the ad, it is more of a family run business with no reception, located in a building with private apartments. As there was no sign saying on which floor the ‘hotel’ is located, be prepared for calling the ‘hotel’ ‘manager’ and asking her to take you upstairs (FYI – it is on the 1st floor).
The biggest problem occurred after our 1st night in the ‘hotel’ (we booked for 2 nights and had a confirmation of that on email) – the ‘manager’ called us saying that we have to immediately come to check out and take our bags out of the room, as we booked for one night (she didn’t let us speak and didn’t have a problem solving attitude). As we were already on our way to another city, we had to take a train back to Bergamo to try and talk to her in person (she didn’t have an email address to which we could send the payment confirmation, something which wouldn’t happen in a real hotel). When we were already on our train back, she called us again to say we can in fact stay one more night. Apart from our daytrip being ruined, we wasted money on train tickets which noone is going to refund.
Back in the hotel, we found all our items misplaced, as someone obviously took them out of the room & bathroom when they were still thinking we didn’t book for 2 nights, and then brought them back to the room with my pyjama missing and the duvet from one bed missing as well. When we called the lady again, a man who picked up couldn’t help us and hang up.
A lot of stress in vain 😊 Don’t recommend!

The appartement was not very clean, and not very nice. The location is also not that good apart from being close to the train station. It was also completely not communicated to us (not on the website or by the owner) that the appartement is not private, as it is shared with other people that have their own bedroom in the appartement. Overall we did not feel very safe there, and ended up seeking another place to stay.
