Ostello di Bergamo in Bergamo

We were supposed to arrive with a school group in spring 2020. We paid deposit of 2300 Euros in December 2019. Until today the management is unavailable, money is lost and no one has replied to multiple emails we have sent. The last time someone replied to my many messages was December 2021. No reply since then. It is outrageous that after so much time passes and so many promises and understanding this place just took our money and nothing. I think, even with C situation, more than two years to solve this was enough.

Last minute booking in Bergamo. Don’t have too much to say on this place apart from, only stay here if you are getting an early / late flight from Bergamo airport… if even that ! The location of this hostel is extremely far out of everything. It is doable to walk to the main attractions but with bags etc no a hope. Despite the location, the hostel is well equipped. The staff here are extremely nice and welcoming and the main floor / common area that holds few comfy seats and the breakfast area. I was on the second floor, in a 6 bed mixed dorm. A very basic dorm indeed yet it did have an en suite. I did get a single bed to myself but overall it was more a place to lay your head and head off early / late. The lockers are very tight and most are broken ( for locking purposes ) The breakfast is surprisingly very good for Italy lots of selections! There is also a rooftop terrace which is pretty nice on a sunny morning. Kitchen is equipped fairly basically but would do well for cooking up some good grub. However do note a lot of people staying here are just there for the night so expect an early awaking for people leaving to catch flights etc. There isn’t much social if any here. A DJ plays some nights but unless a crowd is here it is very sad.. Would only recommend for those catching a flight / arriving in late. Or if you do not mind a hostel 40mins out of the city then definitely check it.

Oh my gosh, my trip here over the summer was absolutely miserable. First of all, the rooms are either extremely hot or extremely cold. There were strange stains on each mattress and sheets, inappropriate writing on the bed frames, and the location was quite strange.
The parts that made it tolerable were there, but there were few. The staff were quite nice and there were a fair share of attractions and refreshments near and in the hostel, and the views from a few rooms were nice.
Overall, it was tolerable, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you enjoy mosquito bites, extreme temperatures, and questionable parts of each room.

Strange remote location. Very small congested rooms, toilets have fungus on the shower and WC area. 4 beds in 10 m2 room area.
Only one main light for the room, hard to find entrance point when coming with the car on google maps.

Not recommended for late arrivals. I arrived to Bergamo train station at 9pm. There was no way to arrive to the hostel: the buses were not running anymore, there was only one über available which never arrived. I waited for a taxi forever and it didn't arrive so I decided to go to the airport and sleep there. Totally not recommendeded unless you arrive during the day.

Ok for the price. But the rooms are tiny and packed with beds. I was unlycky to have a diesel train in the room that roared the engine all night 😵‍💫 I also got a lot of rashes from the bed. Be prepared 💪💪 Nicely located for hiking in the forest/hills. 8 km from the airport 🏃‍♂️
