Agriturismo Monterosso in Verbania

A very nice place with a magnificent view. We happened upon it on a hike and thoroughly enjoyed the food and the authentic atmosphere. The food was delicious. For children, there's a pony and donkey behind the house, as well as play areas (table tennis, table football).

This hidden gem atop the mountain is an absolute must-visit! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a stunning view over Lago Maggiore that makes the experience unforgettable. The food is incredibly fresh and local, prepared with exceptional quality and flavor—every dish we tried was outstanding. The service was equally impressive—friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. To top it all off, they serve fantastic coffee accompanied by delicious homemade biscuits, a perfect finish to the meal. If you’re looking for a place with breathtaking views, top-notch cuisine, and genuine hospitality, this is it!

Views are magnificent, menu is tremendous. The drive is demanding, but don't get discouraged.

They had cold water and I could pay contactless.

Impassable and winding access road in the middle of the woods (you have to do some hairpin bends in double maneuver because the car cannot turn) but you immediately forget as soon as you arrive: you are welcomed by a pleasant silence broken only by birdsong and a fantastic view which stretches from the lake below to the Swiss Alps. Clean, basic rooms but with everything you need. Typical farmhouse structure with a large glazed dining room to enjoy the view while eating. Buffet breakfast with fresh bread, cakes, biscuits and jams of own production as well as cold cuts and cheeses. Homemade and varied menu: homemade lasagna, tagliatelle and risotto with mushrooms, leg of lamb, lake trout, ribs and a variety of sweet and sour vegetables and to finish sweets, fruit salad or wild berries of own production. List of Piedmontese and non-Piedmontese wines. The owners Iside and Giorgio are very friendly and helpful as well as the dining room staff. Not being able to complete the excursions we had planned due to bad weather, we will definitely return at the next opportunity.

Nice place with a calm atmosphere.
It is quite casual and one feels at home.
The service is not the fastest but it is still functional.
On the downside, the road is quite steep and full of tight hairpin bends. I don't recommend it much for those who suffer from motion sickness.
I recommend it in case you stop to sleep for a few days, because it is comfortable and seems to have a lot of activities. Not recommended for a quick meal

We enjoyed a visit to horses and ponies.
