As someone who has stayed in hundreds of accommodations across 120+ countries over 11 years of full-time travel, I rarely write reviews unless something stands out significantly. This property was perfectly adequate - good location, decent accommodations, with only minor quirks (like lights that wouldn't fully turn off at night). Nothing remarkable, but nothing problematic either. Until the day before checkout. The morning before our departure, my mother left the key to the second room in the door as she headed out. Hours later, I received accusatory messages from the owner claiming we had broken the key and left it on the floor. Despite my clear explanation that the key was intact when we left it in the door, the owner became increasingly aggressive, dismissing any possibility that the cleaning staff might have accidentally broken it while opening the door (as I suggested), and insisting their housekeeper of 10 years would never lie. What concerned me most was the owner's unwillingness to consider any scenario other than us deliberately breaking the key and hiding it. The conversation escalated unnecessarily, with the owner expressing disappointment in us and ending with a passive-aggressive voice note about "forgetting it" while making it clear they believed we were lying. This interaction left us genuinely uncomfortable about leaving our belongings in the apartment during the day and sleeping there that final night. That's not a feeling any guest should have to experience. After this incident, I checked other reviews and noticed a pattern: while the overall rating is good (4.7/5), multiple negative reviews specifically mention confrontational behavior from the owners. This suggests our experience was not isolated. Bottom line: The accommodation itself is fine for the price, but be aware that if anything goes wrong - even something that may not be your fault - you may face an uncomfortable confrontation that could affect the remainder of your stay. For travelers who value peace of mind and professional host communication, there are many other options in the area.

The owner declared the possibility of self-check-in. It turned out to be a lie, he didn't give us the keys. He was a few hours late, we waited in the rain all day (we only have one day in Bergamo so we didn't see anything in town). When he showed up, he was unpleasent. We stayed overnight there, even though we were completely stressed by his behavior. After all, we wanted to give the rating on the booking, but unfortunately we were blocked from doing so because the manager said to booking that we didn't stay there!!! I couldn't believe it. This is his way of getting rid of bad reviews. Booking didn't help us with this situation. Travel a lot and fortunately I don't meet people and places like this I hope it was the first and the last time.

Terrible experience.
Terrible to check in. This is an apartment on a 3 rd floor. No one was there to check in. I was luck , the taxi driver helped and called the owner. Still , the owner insisted that I have to have internet. At 10 pm how can anyone get a SIM card in Italy. They would not give the code to get in the building before hand. You have to have internet access to talk to them. However , check in with their website, they provide the access code to the building. There are 70 steps to to the unit. A terrible experience to check in. Lack of disclosure about access , steps , and the fact that this is not a hotel. And yuy must have internet to get in. Do not get this place.
