Calaserena Village

I've been a guest for just one day, and it was very nice. Great location, beautiful beach and sea, and the food was truly delicious. I really look forward to going there again!

A nice hotel with full board, very good for family with kids. You can do windsurfing, sailing, canoeing (for free) and scuba diving (paying). The scuba diving center is great, high quality and authorized to bring you to nice dives in the natural park nearby

If you don´t know speak Italien, you have a big problem. Almost no one knows foreign languages (English, French, Spanish) ​​in this resort. You must sign (in case check in) document in Italian language, it's not okay if you don't understand. Labels and instructions are also mostly only in Italian.

Rooms - very well cleaned but not 4* (stars).

Beach - clean but relatively confined (crowded).

Kitchen - excellent. But drinks in small 1,5 ml plastic cups are desgusting, ecologically iresponsible and annoying. Ban of filling own bottles with water is really incomprehensible :(

Stuff - very kind and helpfull (in case they understand).

Environment - Clean, nice, diverse. Get outside the resort is very complicated, for example to the bus stop or to the grocery.

Village was exactly as advertised, overall stay was very positive and pleasant, highly recommended. Highly suggested for families with kids. The resort is also thought with accessibility in mind (wheelchairs).

Pros
- The staff in the Kids' kitchen was bending over backwards to accommodate each and every request, preparing tasty, healthy, individual meals to each kid (shoutout to Francesca and Eleonora)
- The staff in the restaurant was patient and professional, never skipped a beat despite covering 6 meals in extremely long shifts (shoutout to Mariateresa)
- Rooms are tiny but functional and cleaned well and thoroughly every day (shoutout to whoever cleaned our room)
- Entertainment team was professional, energetic and engaging but never obnoxious nor pushy, I didn't have as much fun since I was a kid (points for rescheduling the show due to a storm and improvising a covid-safe "vintage cabaret" that showed how good they really are!) - shoutout to Fabio, Nico, Bea, Alice and the "capo spiaggia"
- Beach activities are plenty and the staff always available, pads were on the beach to allow for wheelchair access to the umbrellas and shore
- Anti-covid measures were implemented well and taken seriously by all staff

Opportunities
- The choice of food could have been more inclusive - e.g. some days you would struggle to find a vegetarian dish at the buffet other than veggies or salad or the white pasta with tomato sauce added on top; since there are always 3+ pastas, I would always include a vegetarian choice among them; same for the themed restaurants and packed lunch
- The payment methods are segregated around the village - e.g. you use a smart card to pay at the bars, credit card or cash at the shop but only cash for towels - and poorly advertised (I had to go back and forth to get cash twice just to get beach towels)
- While the staff is putting great effort in covering 2x shifts at every meal (covid-containment measure), each shift is approx. 60 mins long, which for a buffet can be challenging, especially with kids
- I heard from many people they wanted to explore the nearby cities (Villasimius and Cagliari) at night or during the day, but the excursion was either prohibitive to organise (min number of people) or only on a set day; it'd be nice to offer some regular service other than the public bus
