Hotel Ettoral in Lido di Jesolo

We booked this hotel thinking that a 3-star property would at least be clean and decent. Unfortunately, when we arrived, our room was full of dust, and both the air conditioner and the wall were covered in black mold. We asked the reception to do something about it, because we were worried about our health. They came in with a mold-removal spray, sprayed the room, and then sent us back inside… needless to say, the chemicals made it impossible to breathe. We had to go back to reception again, insisting that this was not acceptable. At first, they said there were no other rooms available, but after half an hour they eventually found us a different one.

The second room wasn’t much better: dusty, dirty, and under the bed we found a huge piece of dirt/nail. The bathroom door didn’t even open properly and scratched the floor every time we used it. In a 4-person room there were only 2 power outlets, so we had to charge our devices in the bathroom. No fridge in the room…

Breakfast was okay, but the plumbing was extremely noisy in the morning - so loud it sounded like a horn blaring for several minutes. On the beach, if you are 4 people, you only get 2 sunbeds included - the others have to pay extra.

To be fair, the reception staff tried to be kind and do what they could, but obviously most of these issues were not their fault. Still, I wouldn’t personally rate this place 3 stars. The only real advantage is its central location.

Disappointed and Uncomfortable Stay for Families

I really hoped this place would be a nice stop on our trip, but it ended up being the worst experience.

The room was old, humid, and just uncomfortable to be in.

It didn’t look like the pictures at all.

We asked for simple things a kettle, water, and an iron and the staff looked at us like we were asking too much. The location is also very far away from all the attentions or the city centre and there is barely a cafe or a supermarket.

The whole place felt cold, both physically and emotionally. Definitely not somewhere I’d come back to.

Cold, Humid, and Unprofessional – Would Not Stay Again

My experience at this property was extremely disappointing for several reasons:

1. The photos online are misleading. What we found upon arrival was a room that looked nothing like the advertised images, it was much older, outdated, and poorly maintained.

2. The room was filled with humidity, which made it feel damp and uncomfortable. On top of that, there were visible signs of pests, raising hygiene concerns.

3. The room was extremely cold, and no heating was provided. Despite clearly struggling with the temperature, the staff only offered a solution if we paid an additional €100 which felt exploitative and unacceptable.

4. The property lacked basic amenities such as a heater, iron, or even a kettle. When I asked about these, the response was dismissive and made me feel like my expectations were unreasonable.

5. Communication with the staff was frustrating. Instead of calmly addressing our concerns, the tone quickly turned defensive and unwelcoming, adding to the overall discomfort of the stay.

This experience was far below what anyone should expect from a paid accommodation. Unless major improvements are made in both facilities and customer service, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere.
