Venice Golf Residence in Lido

Bad service that demonstrates a lack of respect for basic human needs. We booked this for two weeks during the run-up to the Venice Biennale, for not a small sum of money = 1500 Euros. When I arrived in the evening, although they were well aware that the one shop in the neighbourhood would be closed, they did not leave a single toilet roll out of courtesy. I had to complain to get them to provide at lease one courtesy roll. Even though I texted to ask about food, they also didn't reply, so it was a shock to arrive and find only one place open that thankfully did some basic food. The apartment does not offer any appliance (no kettle) to make hot water, just a traditional Italian coffee pot. When I asked for one, I was told to use a small pot, which was not available either. They promised to bring one the next day but failed, and when asked - I was told to use a large stew pot without a lid to make hot water. So dangerous! Their attitude was also terrible - complete lack of care despite that we paid upfront, and no empathy at all at the lack of ability to make a hot drink when the evenings are still chilly. AVOID. NOT WORTH THE HASSLE. MIGHT AS WELL JUST PITCH A TENT.
