The front staff is very helpful. The ski is very good.
2 bunk bed, include very proper breakfast, best view and ski ground inside the hotel, Try the outdoor onsen in winter so amazing
The breakfast & dinner buffet are very good
It was great. The hotel was close to the slopes, so it was convenient. I was surprised to see some people coming with normal tires.
If you're a foreigner, a translation tool is essential because the staff don't speak English, or their accent was hard for us to understand. When we couldn't communicate, they seemed annoyed (90% of the staff didn't smile at us). There was an older staff member who was friendly, especially the one handling ski activity bookings. 🤬🤬 Absolutely terrible. The food was mediocre, not much variety or taste...
The outdoor onsen is top-notch, the ski resort is great, and the breakfast and dinner are amazing – the food is delicious and varied, perfect for families. There are so many activities, you should definitely stay two nights.

There's nothing particularly special around the inn, but you can relax and enjoy yourself inside the inn. The manager is very polite and kind, and the other staff members are also very helpful. The food is delicious, especially the breakfast. 👍 Highly recommended!
The location is a bit remote. The older male receptionist was very helpful. The rooms were spacious and well-maintained, but the building's age was evident. The food was quite good, although some dishes were more Western in style, which I didn't really enjoy. I'd prefer some traditional local cuisine. Overall, it was a relaxing hotel.
I visited this inn for work. The sister inn Senjyuan was really good, so I decided to stay here this time! I wanted to relax by myself, so I booked one with an open-air bath. I made a reservation on the day, but they were flexible in their response. The hospitality was reminiscent of Senjyuan, from the moment I arrived until the time I was shown around. The food was also very satisfying, and made generous...
It was my first hot spring ryokan in Japan and I enjoyed it successfully.
The inn is located overlooking Mt. Tanigawa. It retains a nostalgic atmosphere, but it has been renovated and is well-maintained. Above all, the staff have a high sense of hospitality. Although I was unable to apply for the nationwide discount due to the website I used to book, they rebooked me and applied the discount. Although it was a standard plan, both dinner and breakfast were plentiful and delicious...
Amazing service. Great food. The water is hot! You can feel the history. Highly recommend. The only downside is that taxi service runs only until 21:00 :( but that is Minakami wide

What impressed me most was the excellent breakfast and dinner! I highly recommend staying at this onsen hotel when visiting Gunma. The main dish for dinner was sukiyaki, which was delicious, and each dish was prepared with great care. The food here is really tasty! This time, I stayed in a room with a private open-air onsen bath. The onsen quality here is very high; the spring water isn't heated,...
This is my 2nd time starting at this hotel. Dinner and breakfast a so good. Recommend stay here.
As a working couple with a child preparing for his junior high school entrance exams, we were exhausted when we visited. We often visit inns affiliated with the Japan Society for the Preservation of Secret Hot Springs, but the hot springs here are undoubtedly better. As we're in our 40s, we were more interested in a quiet place to relax than money, so the age group was older and there weren't many...
Travel: easy commute from Tokyo taking an hour's ride on the shinkasen then a 20minute bus ride to Minakami station where a mini van brought us to the Ryokan. Communication was prompt and excellent. The bus ride comes infrequently so some planning is required. Room: we gotten a western style room and the second floor facing the mountains. View was excellent in winter. The private bath was spacious...
This is a genuine free-flowing spring that you can drink. It is completely different from the usual "self-proclaimed free-flowing springs". I had high expectations because I read in a book that they put a lot of effort into the food, but it seems like an old story, perhaps because the cook is different from before. The current head chef is from Kyushu, so the food is like that. The food was... for...
It is said to be suitable for families with children, but from my experience staying there, it may not be suitable for families with children. There is no baby shampoo or baby bath. Depending on the room you stay in, strollers may not be suitable because there are stairs, so a baby carrier is essential. There are a lot of stairs. There is only a very basic baby chair (without a belt). There seem to...

The Japanese-style room in the East Wing was small, but it had all the necessary bathroom facilities, and the shower equipment wasn't too old. Dinner was excellent and catered well to tourists' tastes. However, the most beautiful outdoor hot spring perpetually had insufficient water temperature, making it impossible to get in. The water coming out of the spout was only 40 degrees, so keep that in mind
Just an incredible place. Astonishing atmosphere and location. Amazing staff. 10/10
Love this ryokan! Such a gem in winter time with steaming onsen and dramatic snow falling on the river. If you need mental reset, you must come. Great food, super clean place and hospitable people. Highly recommend to bring snacks and your own beverages as there is no cafes nearby. Overall experience is memorable.
Located quite far from the main town. If you’re driving a car then you can choose this ryokan. Otherwise you’ll have to adjust your timing according to their shuttle bus service. Food is decent. Service and amenities is good. The outdoor onsen is amazing.
This is a fabulous place for an authentic Japanese holiday. The location is beautiful. The outdoor hot spring bathing area is clean and looks like a movie set. The included meals are generous in portion size and are delicious. Our room overlooked the river and it was great. Tatami floors and shoji screen windows. This is an old and historic place and does not cater to western norms. You sleep on...
The location and view are stunning. The service and foods are very good. The room is kind of smelly. I think they put us in smoking room while we asked for non smoking.

Because there are only a few rooms, the number of guests is inevitably smaller than at other inns, giving the impression of a more relaxed atmosphere. The rooms are stylish with a modern Japanese feel. Each room has a hot spring, but there are also two private hot springs, so you can enjoy yours to the fullest without other people coming in while you are using them. The food was also delicious. The...
Love this Quiet ryokan . Good that we rented a car so it is accessible . We had many scenic drives around the area. Generous food portions . We chose a room with own private bath .
The service was impeccable throughout our stay, the room was immaculate, the food was delicious and all locally sourced and the room had every amenity that you might need. Loved the private hot spring bath within our room as well. Highly recommend for a weekend trip to Minakami!
A special place The greatest retreat from the hectic streets of Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. After all those cities we came to this hotel in Minakami and never wanted to leave. We had the best time here. The people working at this hotel were always attentive and ready to help us with more than we could ask for and we hope to be back soon.
This was a great experience to enjoy a hot springs Ryokan the staff was very detail oriented and very friendly. Dinner was an amazing experience. Had a private onsen in the room and spent much time in there at night listening to the light rain and enjoying the hot water relax and heal my body.
Really nice Ryokan in an awesome location. We booked a room with a private onsen but also took advantage of one of the other baths that's available to all the other rooms (these baths are still used one at a time). Both baths were relaxing and beautiful in the snow. Dinner and breakfast were both amazing with courses that seemed to just keep coming. We don't speak Japanese but were still able to generally...

Quaint place with great food kaiseki dinner, great onsen. Very quiet town with nothing much to do which is good time to connect. Stay was fantastic.

It was truly an unforgetable stay. Food was perfect. The rooms came with breakfast and dinner. So yummy and we were so full from the amount of food served. I booked the room which comes with an outdoor private onsen. It was so beautiful. The autumn view was amazing. All the staff were so friendly and polite. I would highly recommend this Ryokan if you love somewhere quiet and peaceful to chill....
Great dinner and breakfast. All staff was helpful and  Friendly.
Dinner was delicious! It was a nice, small inn.
A very comfortable hot spring hotel, with a friendly host, good breakfast, and comfortable hot springs that can be used alone. It is very close to Shuishang Norn Ski Resort, about 15 minutes by car, and Baotaishu Ski Resort, about 50 minutes. There is the only large supermarket in Shuishang near the hotel, so there is no need to worry about having nothing to eat at night.

We stayed for one night in late November. It was a shame that the autumn leaves were at their final stage. The tofu kaiseki cuisine was delicious, tasty, and colorful. Many of the surrounding hotels and inns have closed, so the scenery feels lonely. I recommend this place for those who want to enjoy both the baths and the food.
This hotel is nestled right at the end of the water so it feels really secluded. The rooms were very clean and so was the private bath in the room. This made the open air bath extra relaxing as the air was really crisp. It was also under a roof incase it rained. One of the things they're known for is being able to make your own tofu skin at dinner!
I absolutely enjoy staying at this ryokan! They offer a complete package, including pick-up from Jomokogen Station and free meals for dinner and breakfast. The onsen is wonderful, with both indoor and outdoor baths, and the breathtaking view really adds to the relaxing experience.
We stayed for one night, the was beautiful place to relax with your couple. It’s not a modern new hotel, it very old but that’s what we liked about the place. Japan has many private hotels/ryokans that are famous for their age. The rooms very simple in Japanese style. They had four private onsen with additional payment. We stayed in Sakura Garden onsen, with open widows. The food was one of the best...
Quite tired. Beautiful view. Onsen is quite faraway for walking.
Insensitive is nice and large though we need to walk a long way to go. The facility is old and the room is not bright.

We stayed at Yado Kanzan to celebrate our anniversary, and it was truly one of our most cherished experiences. The snow-covered mountain view from our room was breathtaking and set the perfect tone for a peaceful stay. In the evening, we were treated to a beautiful shakuhachi performance, which added a deeply authentic and memorable touch to the night. The food was exceptional every meal felt thoughtfully...
We spent our honeymoon at Yado Kanzan. It was probably the most breathtaking experience we've had in Japan, from extremely hospitable, humorous, and understanding staff, clean and practical facilities, to such a great hydrogen rich private onsen with the view of Mt Tanigawa. The dinner and breakfast menus were spectacular, we felt like royals with the variety, taste, and completeness of all flavours...
Very clean, beautiful and great hospitality. Building is no new but well maintained. Even public hot tub and bathroom are kept cleaning anytime. Free coffee and tea service, Japanese comics and table games are also available. Dinner and breakfast is wonderful. Not only the foods are so tasty but also dishes are very beautiful to enjoy seeing foods too.
Get ready to receive exceptional Japanese hospitality at this lovely small inn! We were so happy with the food here. Please make sure to include their award winning dinner and breakfast if you stay here! Very fresh ingredients, huge meals, and flavours were thoughtfully designed. We were told that you can even request a different main dish if you stay here for more than a night. They have small buns...
The location was incredible, with the rooms having beautiful views of the mountains. The hydrogen spa, for which each room gets a 40 minute booked slot, was the perfect temperature. There are two more onsens that can be used by the guests that don't require booking, which are not hydrogen enriched. The food was well thought out and delicious, with a multiple course japanese-style dinner. The breakfast...
Absolutely the most amazing experience! The room was super comfortable and we slept very well. The baths were delightful. Everything was so perfectly clean. The hosts were impeccable, very welcoming, and at check-in had a script and translation device for communication in English which worked quite well. I don't have words to describe how delicious the dinner and breakfast were. Every bite was a fantastic...
