What impressed me most was the excellent breakfast and dinner! I highly recommend staying at this onsen hotel when visiting Gunma. The main dish for dinner was sukiyaki, which was delicious, and each dish was prepared with great care. The food here is really tasty!

This time, I stayed in a room with a private open-air onsen bath. The onsen quality here is very high; the spring water isn't heated, allowing you to soak while enjoying the view of Mount Tanigawa.

The service was impeccable in every detail, including specially provided pajamas and decaffeinated roasted tea served at night.

The next morning, you can also enjoy complimentary coffee while admiring Mount Tanigawa again.

As a working couple with a child preparing for his junior high school entrance exams, we were exhausted when we visited. We often visit inns affiliated with the Japan Society for the Preservation of Secret Hot Springs, but the hot springs here are undoubtedly better. As we're in our 40s, we were more interested in a quiet place to relax than money, so the age group was older and there weren't many inbound tourists. This was perfect. Because it was quiet, it was ideal for tutoring elementary and junior high school students in their rooms. We were grateful. The food was so filling we couldn't finish it. The seasoning wasn't too strong, so it was perfect for our family. For some reason, the drinks in the restaurant were so cheap that it almost made us worry. That's why we bought lots of manju as souvenirs on our way home. We'd love to come back.

Travel: easy commute from Tokyo taking an hour's ride on the shinkasen then a 20minute bus ride to Minakami station where a mini van brought us to the Ryokan. Communication was prompt and excellent. The bus ride comes infrequently so some planning is required. Room: we gotten a western style room and the second floor facing the mountains. View was excellent in winter. The private bath was spacious and windows can be opened fully to appreciate the winter views. Public bath: actually spent more time in the outdoor public bath Vs the private bath. Water temperature not as hot as the room bath but the cooling surrounding makes it very enjoyable to stay soaked for the long time. Only minor point is that the public bath is western facing and we were not able to catch the sun rise. Food: enjoyed every single dish. Showcased fresh local produce. The beef shabu was excellent. Great stay in winter. Thanks to all the attentive staff who made this a truly memorable stay.

This is a genuine free-flowing spring that you can drink. It is completely different from the usual "self-proclaimed free-flowing springs". I had high expectations because I read in a book that they put a lot of effort into the food, but it seems like an old story, perhaps because the cook is different from before. The current head chef is from Kyushu, so the food is like that. The food was... for the price. In terms of taste and content. However, the quality of the spring water is so excellent that it makes up for that. Also, I don't want to tell you about it here, so I can't write about it, but if you have a certain hobby, there is a great treat for you. So, I will definitely be returning.

It is said to be suitable for families with children, but from my experience staying there, it may not be suitable for families with children. There is no baby shampoo or baby bath. Depending on the room you stay in, strollers may not be suitable because there are stairs, so a baby carrier is essential. There are a lot of stairs. There is only a very basic baby chair (without a belt). There seem to be picture books, but there are no toys. There are no diaper changing tables in the toilets, etc. It is a bit strict for families with children, so it may be that the inn is not welcoming to families with children. There are quite a lot of dishes for infants, and the meals for adults are also delicious. However, when it is crowded, I don't know if there is a shortage of staff or the estimated time it will take to eat is too long, but it was hectic afterwards, as it seemed like they would not be able to make the last order. I secretly thought that with that amount of menu and alcohol, 2.5 hours would be tough. The hot spring is very comfortable and wonderful. For some reason, the bath attached to the room is a jacuzzi (the contents are natural hot springs, which is great), which ruins the atmosphere, but if you open the window all the way, it could be called an open-air bath. The food and hot springs are great, but there are a lot of things that are a bit disappointing. If they are not child-friendly, I wish they would be honest about it.

I've been here for the fourth time. The open-air bath between the mountains and the sky is the real thing. I can't see the artifacts when I soak in the hot water, so I'm satisfied that this is a mountain hot spring. It seems that the hot water is changed every day, so the hot water is like clear mountain stream water. You can soak in lukewarm water for about 30 minutes. It's really quite lukewarm, so who likes heat? maybe. Also, as other people have written, the men's open-air bath is not crowded no matter when you go. It may depend on the time of day, but there are always about 2-3 people. If you choose the time, there is also a charter state. My companion said that the women's open-air bath can get crowded. It seems that women should check in early and enjoy the open-air bath. I stayed in a room with an outdoor rock bath (strictly speaking, it's hard to call it an open-air bath), which is also nice. The room outdoor is the warmest. It's big enough for two people. And for some reason, it is comfortable to sit in, and it is a bath where you can soak slowly while being enchanted by the Tanigawa mountain range in front of you. I wrote only the bath, but the food is delicious (although it's pricey), and the employees are more natural and pleasant. I feel that cospa is also good. I want to visit again this time.

Beautiful location, large and clean room with great views, the food was excellent, and the service was superb. I would recommend this onsen ryokan to anyone. The outdoor baths are not too hot so you can soak for a long time.

The inns I stayed at these days were all out of the way, so I decided to stay at Minakami Sansou, where I had stayed before. The reason why I thought this was good was that the amount of hot water in the bath (room with semi-open air) was large and it was pleasant to change the hot water steadily, and you can choose from two types of dinner, a full-course meal of French cuisine and a shabu-shabu banquet. It was because it was very delicious. At that time, the food was delicious, so some people came to eat only dinner instead of staying. Was it also open as a restaurant?
When I stayed this time, the open-air bath attached to the room (a room with an open-air bath unlike the last time) was warm and warm, and the temperature was not so hot that I couldn't choose dinner. I was disappointed that the quality was different. Anyway, I think that the food must be completely changed. The open-air bath in the room is designed so that the hot water that overflows from the indoor bath flows into the outdoor bath, but it gets cold because it flows into the outdoor bath through the part made of rock, and the outdoor bath also overflows. Since the structure is such that hot water flows and lukewarm water remains, you can make a hole in the lower part of the bath so that it flows from the cold water, or you can supply hot water directly to the outside bath from the hot water supply port of the indoor bath. Then, with just a little ingenuity, it wouldn't be lukewarm (it wouldn't get cold relatively if I changed the flow using a washbasin), so I ended up with only dissatisfaction. I'm also dissatisfied with the fact that the hot water is lukewarm and has been cleaned up with "It gets cold in winter." The room is for sale with an open-air bath. However, for a guest room with an open-air bath, it is more reasonable than other inns. It used to be higher than other inns.

I stayed in a room called Hinoki on the 6th floor.
It was very good including the scenery, the food, the hot springs flowing from the source, the customer service, and the cospa ♪
Also, it is an inn that I would like to visit.
The photo is the view from the room.
You can enjoy the same view from the room bath, and it's the best because it's flowing from the source.
