For an alternative, the renowned Yufuin no Mori train also runs from Beppu to Yufuin, though advance reservations are highly recommended if you wish to experience it. Standard check-in time at Japanese hotels is 3 PM

Do note the buffet signages were in Japanese only, so you may need to approach the staff for assistance if you aren't fluent. (Their staff are fluent in English

From there, you can walk through the JR station's waiting area to bus stop #1. Bus #36 takes you directly to Yufuin. The fare is 1100 JPY; you take a numbered ticket when you board and pay upon exiting

Walking along the road for a stretch was a bit tough. On the upside, the surroundings of the hotel are very quiet. The room style is a bit old-fashioned but spacious. The evening onsen was great, I had it all to myself

This is a family stay, they do not know Japanese and English, but can communicate (Body Language) In addition, alcohol and water are all you can drink really great, the family will stay very happy.

There are so many instagram moment inside this ryokan :) It is a very old fashioned Japanese building. (Tatami and everything!) 100% recommend for your next stay!!!!

The hotel is very clean and the place is beautiful, however, the dinner and breakfast is very average compare to the price we paid. There is additional fee of Yen 12,600 for one toddler (for dinner and breakfast)

The onsens, particularly the private ones, are in demand but most people usually stay for around 30 minutes, so you can either relax the in adjacent room with a view of their beautiful Japanese garden or go back to your room

We had a view of Mt Yufu and also opted for the breakfast and dinner for two nights. Every meal we had was amazing! After dinner, we hopped into one of the two private onsens and let our troubles melt away

The location is a six-minute walk from Kinrinko Lake and two kilometers from Yufuin Station. We arrived at Yufuin Station and contacted the hotel via Trip. com to arrange a pickup, and they promptly sent a car for us

Lovely Japanese Inn with excellent service. There's a public onsen which everyone can use and I think all rooms have their own private onsen. Very nice atmosphere and incredibly relaxing

They offer fresh milk in the morning, which was a lovely touch. The onsen is private, with only three tubs, so you have to reserve a spot to use them. Otherwise, you can just use the bath in your room

Amazing stays, staff was very friendly and polite, he explained everything to us well and clear. And they provide free shuttle from Yufuin station. There’s popcorn making after 8pm at the lobby, it was a fun experience

Too cold to take a shower outdoor. They have 2 private onsens, 1 indoor and 1 outdoor. Both has (in use) and (usable) signs to see if it’s available. So you won’t know exactly when you will get a chance to use it

I was very tired, but it felt like it was all gone. Be careful because the water temperature is hot. The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided smell so good that I'm looking into it in Korea too
