We had a really wonderful time at Wanosato experiencing winter and snow in authentic Japanese setting. The staff were really welcoming and made our stay special, every detail of our stay was taken care of. We had the half-board with dinner and breakfast included. Rustic feeling cottages. Old but clean and nice. Some bugs but it’s in the wilderness. So that’s perfectly normal. Nothing bothersome. Very nice place to stay and explore the region.

Stayed in this hotel for two nights. The room was comfortable. Although the breakfast set is good, the croissant is delicious 😋 The dinners were good for both nights, but the hot springs were a bit small. The hotel room was spacious and clean. They offered complimentary drinks upon arrival in the afternoon, including free beer! After a relaxing hot spring bath, there were free cold drinks available. The surrounding area is lovely, and it's just a short walk to the attractions. Getting to Takayama Station was also super convenient.

A very comfortable hotel, it is about a 10-minute walk to the old JR station, Takayama Old Street and Miyagawa Morning Market. I was very happy to be able to see the taro flowers in Miyagawa in late April.

Excellent! Very thoughtful, the room was large, comfortable, and clean. They proactively arranged pick-up and drop-off for both nights, taking us to the area near the station and old town. I was surprised that breakfast and dinner were different on both nights. The stairs next to the entrance lead down to the old town, and they even had ropes to help you down to prevent falls – so considerate!

Never had so satisfying hotel stay for business or holiday. This hotel want to make you don't even go out from hotel, just enjoy the calm and, silent private onsen in room plus the carefully curated breakfast and dinner Kaiseki type experiences.

Disappointingly, no improvement was seen, particularly the quality of food presumably to be of high quality for luxurious rooms with private onsen. Loved the whole experience! We had breakfast and dinner with the booking which were delicious traditional foods we typically don’t see anywhere else. The location also had private and public onsens as part of their amenities. Make sure to make a call to the staff so they can pick you up from the bus station!

Amazing stay in Iori Takayama, it is very easy to access it, via the lounge first and then the check in in the house, Shingo was a great host indeed. The 100 year old Machiya is really well preserved and makes you feel in the traditional Japan and it has some modern touched that makes the stay perfect. Really well located to visit Takayama downtown too.

It was a great traditional experience, right in the middle of the old town, close to restaurants and the morning market. The rooms were big and beautiful, but the stairs were quite steep. The hot tub and the bathroom were great. There are not a lot of kitchen amenities, but a lot of complimentary snacks and drinks. The service was impeccable.

The hotel is very close to the station. The room is spacious. There is a convenience store near the hotel, and many restaurants around the area. It is also close to tourist attractions in the city, making it extremely convenient for transportation. The bathroom uses a two-pipe system, so you need to mix the hot and cold water yourself when using the tap.

The location is excellent, just a few steps from the station, making it perfect for a layover. However, this place doesn't have a large public bath, only a sauna and jacuzzi, so it might not be ideal if you're looking for a soak. On a side note, I highly recommend a tempura restaurant in Takayama that I really love!

The room was much more spacious than I expected, with plenty of space to open two large suitcases. The hygiene was excellent, and they even provided pajamas. The lobby offered complimentary disposable toothbrushes and other amenities for guests to take. The location was also great, just a few minutes' walk from the JR station and the Nohi bus stop. Luggage storage was available.

The location is excellent—only a 160-meter walk from Takayama Station. There are delicious yakiniku restaurants nearby. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and assistance. There is also a hot bath and a mist sauna on the second floor, which is perfect for relaxing after a long day.

This might be the first time I've stayed at a hotel that blends Japanese and Western styles so perfectly. The room wasn't small, and the size of the beds, the space between them, and the bedding all offered a high degree of comfort and convenience. I specifically came to see the Takayama Festival this time, and coincidentally, there were several floats parked right outside the hotel entrance for everyone...

They have a pub with live music in the evening, which is a nice touch. The rooms are pretty standard but have a certain quality to them. I'd recommend it for travelers who have specific expectations for their accommodation.

Nice stay walking distance to many areas

A decent hotel in Takayama. It's suitable for a one-night stopover. Parking is a bit expensive, but you can use the nearby public parking lot. Plenty of food and shopping options around. Cleanliness is okay.

Quite okay for all aspects. What stands out is they’re giving so many free things. Massage chairs in the lobby, happy hour (drink) in the evening, free curry rice for dinner, and amenities are very complete.

The hotel is in a convenient location and offers great facilities, including coin laundry, a coffee machine, a public bath, and even massage chairs for relaxation. While most staff members were not particularly friendly, there was one young gentleman who stood out for his warm and helpful attitude.

The room was a bit small, suitable for one person. It's very close to Takayama Station, and there's a McDonald's not far downstairs. Overall, it was decent, but perhaps due to the peak season for hiking in Kamikochi, the price was quite high, so the value for money wasn't great.

It’s a very nice place, 3mins walk from Nohi bus station. Very aesthetic Japanese layout, each room are themed with different Japanese cultures. The staffs are also very friendly and helpful and can’t complaint about the level of service.

The Wi-Fi was terrible; there was none in the room initially. They fixed it later, and I got two bars of signal, but it was still poor. There's no hot spring here; what they call a hot spring is just tap water. The bedding was awful; I got bitten all over and felt very itchy, and the duvet cover kept coming off the comforter. This price is just not worth it; my child's skin was red and itchy from bites

This hotel is incredibly comfortable. The full kitchen facilities and the washing machine with dryer in the room are definite highlights. It was fantastic to be able to buy premium Hida beef from the supermarket and cook it myself!

Conveniently located just a few steps from the station. I was initially worried about potential noise, but the soundproofing was excellent, and it was very quiet at night. The room was spacious enough and had a kitchen, which was great for preparing simple meals. Not far from the hotel, just west past the tunnel, there's a large Boss Food Market where you can buy groceries, which was a nice bonus.

We went as a group and we loved the ryokan. It was very spacious, everything was very clean, and it was conveniently located near the bus station, the train station, and the city center where most of the shopping takes place.
