Ogawaya, Gero1 / 30

Gero, 570 Yunoshima 🧭 Map
Everything about the hotel was excellent, including the meals, shuttle service, and room options.
Impression: Ogawaya was one of the three day-trip options I considered for my Gero trip last summer, and it left a great impression then. So, when planning this winter trip, I really wanted to stay here for a night. Since I booked late, I was lucky to even snag a room. Service: The front desk had a Chinese-speaking staff member who was, hands down, the loveliest Chinese-speaking person I encountered...
stayed in the new wing, room was new and cosy. Even has shower in the bathroom. plan which onsen to go carefully, as there are certain onsen which are only available for either male or female on certain hours.
The hotel service was very thoughtful, and they even had staff who spoke Chinese. The room was very comfortable. We booked a private onsen, which was wonderful, and the room itself was spacious, bright, and fully equipped. There was plenty of hot water, and the bedding was comfortable and warm. The public bath was also clean, tidy, and well-appointed. The hotel's location is excellent, and they even...
Hotel is new looking with nice interior design. Great stay for relaxing itinerary
The hotel has an excellent location with a shuttle service to the station, which makes getting around very convenient. However, the facilities are a bit dated, and the cleanliness is just average. It's also not particularly cheap.

Gero, Yunoshima 535, 509-2207 Gero, Prefektura Gifu, Yaponiya 🧭 Map
We used this hotel for our honeymoon. The interior was rather old-fashioned, suggesting it might be a hotel that was acquired and is now being operated by another hotel. The service didn't meet our expectations considering the price, which was a bit disappointing. The view from the balcony leading to the open-air bath was nice, and as long as there was the hot spring water from Gero Onsen, we were...
I made a last-minute booking and went to Gero Onsen without realizing it would be packed with young people. The inn was pretty much as I expected, neither exceeding nor falling short of my hopes. I only had breakfast, which again, was fairly standard – nothing great, nothing terrible. My overall impression is that it could be much better if they put a bit more effort into renovating each room individually
The facilities were excellent, and I never got bored. The fact that the hot springs were open late into the night was a great plus; it was very relaxing.
The open-air bath was great, but the hotel has too many stairs, which is inconvenient when you have luggage. The parking lot is outside, and although they drive you there to park and pick you up, it's still a bit of a hassle. Both breakfast and dinner were buffets and of high quality.
Both adults and kids enjoyed this Bekkan so much. We had scrumptious buffet dinner and breakfast here. A wide range of yukata for us to choose from.
The hotel is old. However the onsen is great. Umbrella was provided for room guests if it rains. Also the breakfast variety is wide. The key is the foot massage machine is amazing. Thank you

Had a fantastic time with the family~~
Free taxi rides between the hotel and JR station. Close proximity to convenience store. Food wise more improvements and to check in adv on food allergies
Great hospitality - Staff are friendly and helpful. Very warm experience Onsen & room - Clean and decent with Japanese design (Apply to the one inside the room & public onsen) Lobby - Filled with the western classic design For sure, we will return for 3rd times visit to Sasara.
Our family have a great time staying in Sasara, the staffs are nice and easy to communicate. They serve traditional Japanese style meals, dinner and breakfast were amazing in terms of presentation, taste and feel. Definitely will come back for next trip
Stayed there for two nights. In-room onsen was good, staff at reception excellent. Food was simply terrible. Rice was cold (personally it’s simply unacceptable in any Japanese restaurant except for sushi may be?), the chef seems to enjoy making fusion dishes (and except that they were unappetising). To name but a few, we had strawberry mousse for starter, tofu (which was bitter) and pickles with miso...
Very nice staff. 5 minutes walk to the highlight spot, shops and restaurants. You can call taxi from JR station to the hotel (free of charge). After check out, hotel can call taxi for drop off at the station also.

It was a small, cozy inn! It was perfect for my elderly parents, as it minimized travel. Thank you very much.
The buffet-style meals were excellent in both portion size and taste. We had a room on the 6th floor facing the river, and the view was also wonderful.
Five women in their 20s stayed for one night. It was very clean and the buffet was delicious. Karaoke is available for 1 hour and table tennis for 30 minutes; you need to fill out your name and make a reservation. The free parking was a great help. However, the road leading to the parking lot and hotel is very uphill, so walking from the station would be tough. Walking to the Gero Pudding shop would...
I went there for the hot springs, but the food was also delicious with a wide variety of options at the buffet. The view was also amazing. I'd love to go again.
The room is comfortable and spacious, perfect for a relaxing solo trip.
First, the food was pretty good. You can pre-order an extra menu for dinner; check the hotel's official website for details. Both dinner and breakfast are buffet style, and you can sit anywhere. The hotel's location is a bit inconvenient; the entire walk from Gero is uphill and exhausting. You can book a shuttle bus or take a taxi; it's about a 3-4 minute walk. This time, I chose a room with a private...

The facilities seemed a bit dated, but it was clear they were well-maintained overall. The tatami room was spacious and lovely, and all the staff at the front desk were incredibly friendly. There were two types of hot springs: an indoor sauna and an outdoor one. While the facilities were on the smaller side, there were no other guests when I used them, so my sister and I could comfortably enjoy the...
We stayed at Wanpakutei, just like last year. We received a gift for our dog shortly after arriving. As our dog is elderly, we were able to get a tatami room on the second floor with a great view, as requested. Dinner was just the right amount, and the Hida beef was delicious.
Very nice place near and services .. If you are a pet lover you stay with your pets at the hotel ryokan type, Japanese style hotel. With shuttle service from the train station to hotel.. Just call at the hotel on the time you arrive at the train station. There is an information at the train station so you can ask a help how to call the hotel, the staff there will...

The hotel is quite old, and the facilities are also outdated. However, the location is very convenient, being the first one on the hot spring street and closest to JR. Both breakfast and dinner offer a good variety and the taste is decent. Free coffee is available in the lobby.
The location was great, very close to the station and within easy reach of several public hot springs. The only drawback was the poor insulation in the room; even with the air conditioner and heater running full blast, it still felt a bit chilly.
Excellent location, conveniently close to both the station and tourist attractions. The hot springs were very comfortable.
The service was excellent, however, the hotel breakfast was quite mediocre. The price is reasonable for Gero, and it's conveniently located very close to the JR station. Overall, it's an excellent value-for-money option, and the open-air bath was also very pleasant.
The hot spring baths here are excellent, particularly the furo. It wasn't crowded, and it's conveniently located. My only reservation is that the food wasn't as varied or plentiful as it has been on prior visits. Overall, it's still a very good choice.
Very Japanese style, and conveniently located.

Absolutely perfect, completely satisfied. Thank you!
Overall service quality was OK, and the staff were polite.
The hotel was a bit far from the station; it took about 20 minutes to walk there with luggage. However, it was very close to the hot spring town. On the return trip, the hotel sent someone to drive us back to the station. Although the hotel was a little old, it was quite clean. Soaking in the hot spring water at Gero Onsen made my skin feel smooth and silky – it was a wonderful experience!
Very lovely family owned property, wonderful service & thanks for the friendship!

Good hotel. If hotel provide the pick up & sending service between Gero train station & hotel, its hotel will be able to attract more guests.
The hotel front desk staff couldn't communicate in English. Unlike some tourist hotels that primarily employ foreign workers, this hotel mainly has Japanese staff, many of whom are from neighboring Japanese cities. Local residents can enjoy the hot springs for less than 1000 yen. I arrived quite late, and thankfully, Trip.com arranged a pick-up service. It was 8 PM at Hida-Hagiwara Station, completely...
The hotel is located on a mountain with a great environment. The hot springs are particularly amazing, with several outdoor and indoor pools. The room was also nice, a Japanese-style room that was very clean and spacious. The only regret is that we stayed two nights at this hot spring hotel with breakfast and dinner included, and both meals were very poor. I can only say that we were filled with plain...
A beautiful onsen hotel on the mountain side.
I rented a car and went. It's located in a place that's a bit difficult to get to without one. I think there's a bus, but it took about 20 minutes by car from Gero Central. There's an open-air hot spring and the facilities are nice. I stayed for one night and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. It would probably be better for a couple or a group of friends rather than going alone. There's also...
There is no elevator, which is not very convenient for the elderly But there are attendants who will help move the luggage

The hotel is located in Gero City. It has a beautiful appearance. Check-in was quick. The lobby staff can speak fluent English and are very warm and courteous. You can pick up a bathrobe to soak in the hot spring. It is very comfortable. The room is clean and tidy. The only thing is that there is no shower liquid/washing liquid. The hair lotion/conditioner is in the room. You have to go to Reception...

We have been staying at this forest pension for family trips for the past 15 years. Our fourth stay was on August 8th, and the well-maintained mountain lodge-style building, the cool mornings and evenings, the silence of the lush forest, and the faint sound of a babbling brook hadn't changed at all. Dinner was a French course meal. The quality was high and I ate it all, but some women and children...
The homemade meals were carefully prepared and packed with nutrition, leaving me feeling satisfied (^^) It's definitely a good option to have meals included!! The natural hot spring bath felt amazing, the view from the room was full of greenery, and the sounds of birds, the river, and nature were so extraordinary that it's a place I would definitely want to stay at if I came to Gujo, and would want...
Clean and wonderful family spa.. Kids love this place until they found insects in our room. Surround by nature and trees, it could happens, but I captured 7 of them. Kids could not sleep until I catch all of insects.
A magic place: the nature envelops you, trees are all around when you look out from your room windows, or from corridors’ windows. You can watch leaves and mountains from the indoor hot bath. The dinner is typical French dishes (it is near ski resorts). It was divinely delicious. You can spend minutes and minutes observing all small details of the painting collection on the walls, and also other crafts...
