Impression: Ogawaya was one of the three day-trip options I considered for my Gero trip last summer, and it left a great impression then. stayed in the new wing, room was new and cosy. Even has shower in the bathroom. plan which onsen to go carefully, as there are certain onsen which are only available for either male or female on certain hours.

The hotel service was very thoughtful, and they even had staff who spoke Chinese. The room was very comfortable. We booked a private onsen, which was wonderful, and the room itself was spacious, bright, and fully equipped. There was plenty of hot water, and the bedding was comfortable and warm. Hotel is new looking with nice interior design. Great stay for relaxing itinerary

The hotel has an excellent location with a shuttle service to the station, which makes getting around very convenient. However, the facilities are a bit dated, and the cleanliness is just average. It's also not particularly cheap.

Ooedo Onsen Monogatari Gero Bekkan

We used this hotel for our honeymoon. The interior was rather old-fashioned, suggesting it might be a hotel that was acquired and is now being operated by another hotel. The service didn't meet our expectations considering the price, which was a bit disappointing. I made a last-minute booking and went to Gero Onsen without realizing it would be packed with young people. The inn was pretty much as I expected, neither exceeding nor falling short of my hopes. I only had breakfast, which again, was fairly standard – nothing great, nothing terrible. My overall impression is that it could be much better if they put a bit more effort into renovating each room individually

The facilities were excellent, and I never got bored. The fact that the hot springs were open late into the night was a great plus; it was very relaxing.

The open-air bath was great, but the hotel has too many stairs, which is inconvenient when you have luggage. The parking lot is outside, and although they drive you there to park and pick you up, it's still a bit of a hassle. Both breakfast and dinner were buffets and of high quality.

Both adults and kids enjoyed this Bekkan so much. We had scrumptious buffet dinner and breakfast here. A wide range of yukata for us to choose from.

The hotel is old. However the onsen is great. Umbrella was provided for room guests if it rains. Also the breakfast variety is wide. The key is the foot massage machine is amazing. Thank you

Free taxi rides between the hotel and JR station. Close proximity to convenience store. Food wise more improvements and to check in adv on food allergies

Our family have a great time staying in Sasara, the staffs are nice and easy to communicate. They serve traditional Japanese style meals, dinner and breakfast were amazing in terms of presentation, taste and feel. Definitely will come back for next trip

Stayed there for two nights. In-room onsen was good, staff at reception excellent. Food was simply terrible. Rice was cold (personally it’s simply unacceptable in any Japanese restaurant except for sushi may be?), the chef seems to enjoy making fusion dishes (and except that they were unappetising). Very nice staff. 5 minutes walk to the highlight spot, shops and restaurants. You can call taxi from JR station to the hotel (free of charge). After check out, hotel can call taxi for drop off at the station also.

It was a small, cozy inn! It was perfect for my elderly parents, as it minimized travel. Thank you very much.

The buffet-style meals were excellent in both portion size and taste. We had a room on the 6th floor facing the river, and the view was also wonderful.

Five women in their 20s stayed for one night. It was very clean and the buffet was delicious. Karaoke is available for 1 hour and table tennis for 30 minutes; you need to fill out your name and make a reservation. The free parking was a great help. We stayed at Wanpakutei, just like last year. We received a gift for our dog shortly after arriving. As our dog is elderly, we were able to get a tatami room on the second floor with a great view, as requested. Dinner was just the right amount, and the Hida beef was delicious.

The hotel is quite old, and the facilities are also outdated. However, the location is very convenient, being the first one on the hot spring street and closest to JR. Both breakfast and dinner offer a good variety and the taste is decent. Free coffee is available in the lobby.

The location was great, very close to the station and within easy reach of several public hot springs. The only drawback was the poor insulation in the room; even with the air conditioner and heater running full blast, it still felt a bit chilly.

Excellent location, conveniently close to both the station and tourist attractions. The hot springs were very comfortable.

The service was excellent, however, the hotel breakfast was quite mediocre. The price is reasonable for Gero, and it's conveniently located very close to the JR station. Overall, it's an excellent value-for-money option, and the open-air bath was also very pleasant.

The hot spring baths here are excellent, particularly the furo. It wasn't crowded, and it's conveniently located. My only reservation is that the food wasn't as varied or plentiful as it has been on prior visits. Overall, it's still a very good choice.

Overall service quality was OK, and the staff were polite.

The hotel was a bit far from the station; it took about 20 minutes to walk there with luggage. However, it was very close to the hot spring town. On the return trip, the hotel sent someone to drive us back to the station. Although the hotel was a little old, it was quite clean. Soaking in the hot spring water at Gero Onsen made my skin feel smooth and silky – it was a wonderful experience!

Very lovely family owned property, wonderful service & thanks for the friendship!

The lady was very friendly and it was fun talking to her!

I rented a car and went. It's located in a place that's a bit difficult to get to without one. I think there's a bus, but it took about 20 minutes by car from Gero Central.
