Since I booked late, I was lucky to even snag a room. Service: The front desk had a Chinese-speaking staff member who was, hands down, the loveliest Chinese-speaking person I encountered on any of my trips

Facilities: During my day trip last summer, I only got to use the women's bath that was open in the afternoon. It was very clean and had a silk bath

Unlike some uncomfortable experiences I had at Dormy Inn Kumamoto and with the Nohi bus today, this young lady was genuinely warm and friendly

This time, I tried the other bath in the morning, but I still feel that Sagi-no-yu has a more unique charm

All good . Very nice room with good location and breakfast. Also free shuttle bus to/from JR station

Everything about the hotel was excellent, including the meals, shuttle service, and room options.

Ooedo Onsen Monogatari Gero Bekkan

Both adults and kids enjoyed this Bekkan so much. We had scrumptious buffet dinner and breakfast here. A wide range of yukata for us to choose from.

The hotel is old. However the onsen is great. Umbrella was provided for room guests if it rains. Also the breakfast variety is wide. The key is the foot massage machine is amazing. Thank you

There is a car that theoretically can pick you up at the train station or drop you off but I couldn’t use it when I arrived because I received no information on it beforehand or when I left because it only starts at 10am

The onsen is not tattoo friendly and you have to pay for the tattoo cover. Staff was kind but most of the time unable to offer solutions Overall, a beautiful ryokan but for the price, you can find better

+ : beautiful, traditional Japanese hotel with nice tatami rooms. The room was spacious and confortable with all necessary amenities. The outdoor onsen was great and almost empty when I went

- : a LOT of stairs in the building (very difficult for elderly and disabled people, but also people with big suitcases!)

Very warm experience Onsen & room - Clean and decent with Japanese design (Apply to the one inside the room & public onsen) Lobby - Filled with the western classic design For sure, we will return for 3rd times visit to Sasara

Our family have a great time staying in Sasara, the staffs are nice and easy to communicate. They serve traditional Japanese style meals, dinner and breakfast were amazing in terms of presentation, taste and feel

Great hospitality - Staff are friendly and helpful

Definitely will come back for next trip

That’s why we used the Onsen area for showering which is beautiful and includes all amenities. View above Gero and including an outside Onsen area to watch the sunrise

Ooedo Onsen Monogatari Premium Gero Honkan（Old:Yukai Resort Premium Gero Saichoraku Honkan）

The price is a bit high during the National Day holiday. The shuttle bus to and from the station is too rare. There are only two hot springs, which is a bit too few. The open-air bath is a hot spring with a balcony

Five women in their 20s stayed for one night. It was very clean and the buffet was delicious. Karaoke is available for 1 hour and table tennis for 30 minutes; you need to fill out your name and make a reservation

It's the season for stink bugs, and even though the windows aren't designed to open, they kept getting into my room, causing quite a commotion. Please be aware of this if you're going during the cooler months

Dinner and breakfast were delicious. The room was spacious and had a great view. There were several types of shampoo and body soap in the large communal bath, which was nice.

I'm the type of person who chooses my own yukata, but when I checked in in the evening on the first day of the holidays, I was no longer able to choose the design or color

The buffet-style meals were excellent in both portion size and taste. We had a room on the 6th floor facing the river, and the view was also wonderful.

Gero Koyokan Annex Wanpakutei

There were two types of hot springs: an indoor sauna and an outdoor one

Just call at the hotel on the time you arrive at the train station. There is an information at the train station so you can ask a help how to call the hotel, the staff there will help you

We stayed at Wanpakutei, just like last year. We received a gift for our dog shortly after arriving. As our dog is elderly, we were able to get a tatami room on the second floor with a great view, as requested

Very nice place near and services. If you are a pet lover you stay with your pets at the hotel ryokan type, Japanese style hotel. With shuttle service from the train station to hotel

Right next to the accommodation, there were Gero Pudding, butter sandwiches, and several souvenir and trinket shops. A Lawson convenience store was also conveniently located within a 5-minute walk

Oh, but the noise from upstairs? The soundproofing wasn't great, and the whole room vibrated when people walked above us, haha! Aside from that one point, everything else was absolutely fantastic

Mutsumikan

The hot spring baths here are excellent, particularly the furo. It wasn't crowded, and it's conveniently located. My only reservation is that the food wasn't as varied or plentiful as it has been on prior visits

Both breakfast and dinner were delicious and ample Japanese meals (washoku), for which you could confirm a preferred seating time. Complimentary coffee was also available in the first-floor lobby lounge

A charming and comfortable traditional Japanese ryokan. The location is excellent, directly opposite the JR station; you can easily reach it by following the pedestrian signs across the railway tracks

The staff were incredibly warm and attentive. They kindly allowed us to store our luggage before check-in, which was great for exploring the onsen town without any burden

The service was excellent, however, the hotel breakfast was quite mediocre. The price is reasonable for Gero, and it's conveniently located very close to the JR station

The only drawback was the poor insulation in the room; even with the air conditioner and heater running full blast, it still felt a bit chilly

Izumi-so

The hotel was a bit far from the station; it took about 20 minutes to walk there with luggage. However, it was very close to the hot spring town. On the return trip, the hotel sent someone to drive us back to the station

I experienced the best satisfaction at a price that is not expensive for a ryokan. The building is old and worn out, but it was well maintained and clean, and unlike the outside, the inside was quite spacious

The rooms were a bit older, but that added to the traditional feel of the hotel. I have a wonderful time relaxing. My only disappointment was not being able to pay with credit card

Although the hotel was a little old, it was quite clean. Soaking in the hot spring water at Gero Onsen made my skin feel smooth and silky – it was a wonderful experience!

Several staff members spoke English and everyone was very kind and helpful. They let us practice our Japanese with them and went out of their way to make us feel at home

Japanese style, Japanese tradicional food and amazing service! I loved!! 🤩🤩 I intend to return more often and take family members

Hotel Miki

It was 8 PM at Hida-Hagiwara Station, completely deserted, when I saw the hotel's dedicated car – I was so touched! I can't imagine what I would have done without it. It was snowy and freezing, and we had missed dinner

The food quality was just average, and it was pretty much the same for several days, which was a bit. but if you don't book meals, the surrounding area is quite desolate with no restaurants or convenience stores

We asked the driver if he could stop at a convenience store along the way so we could buy some food, and he readily agreed. A big thank you to this hotel employee! My only complaints are: 1

Local residents can enjoy the hot springs for less than 1000 yen. I arrived quite late, and thankfully, Trip. com arranged a pick-up service

It's an old hotel with no elevator, so carrying large luggage was a bit of a struggle!

Gero Kanko Hotel

The only thing is that there is no shower liquid/washing liquid. The hair lotion/conditioner is in the room. You have to go to Reception and ask the staff to get it. I hope the hotel will pay attention

The hotel is located in Gero City. It has a beautiful appearance. The lobby staff can speak fluent English and are very warm and courteous. You can pick up a bathrobe to soak in the hot spring

Overall, this hotel has a good value for money. I will stay here again next time
