A very nice and cosy hotel close to the Black Castle The rooms are for Japan large and are providing comfortable beds. You can even open your window for fresh air. Furthermore, Matsumoto is a very nice town.

Really nice hotel offering both Japanese style and Western style rooms. On top of the old building is a roofterrace from where you have a great view of the mountains and the castle. In the basement of the old building is the men's onsen, which is very nice. Very close to the castle and walking distance from the station, accross the street is a cute bar that does coffee, whiskey and curry.

Charming hotel with onsen. Slightly dated but excellent rooms, breakfast and hospitality.

Great modern Hotel. The bathe area is amazing but the floor can be slippery.

Nice hotel and onsen, conveniently located about a 10 minute drive away from the Sawando bus terminal (where you can catch a 30 minute bus ride to Kamikochi). The food was fantastic and it seemed like the dishes would not stop...

Old hotel. But it's very clean and the service is very good. In Japan today, it can be regarded as a secret hot spring that is relatively easy to access. Worth a visit.

The room is relatively small but has everything. first rate service. The food was great, the same for both days. From Bones to Pingtang, I asked the lady at the front desk to make an appointment for a rental, which was extremely smooth. I miss this deep secret place.

Cosy & old style charm, larger rooms, extremely clean. The attention to detail & service was almost 5 star .. that's the Japanese hospitality. Must book the outdoor rooftop onsen every night! Only minus ¥2000 or 20 min local bus ride away from station & shops/Citi Central. However it's quiet & peaceful. Loved a relaxing stay.

We could not have asked for a more relaxing weekend. The staff was beyond helpful. Right when we arrived we received tea and traditional Japanese desserts. Then we were shown to our beautiful room. We booked a room that included our own private natural hot spring bath. It far exceeded expectations. Wonderfull hotel and the staff is amazing, i checked in after a typhoon and some trains were canceled. The person at the recption helped us more than the turist info or even the guys from the bus ticket office. It was a pleasure to be hosted by such an amazing hotel!

Great service! Staff are helpful and explain everything thoroughly. The rooms are pretty. Onsens are very nice, they also have private onsens. The restaurant us good too, they make soba fresh. Better to make the reservation before hand. Lawson is across the street!

Very nice Ryokan. Good food. Good onsen. Good atmosphere. It looks like it's been recently renovated, so everything is perfect condition.

Wonderful Ryokan (shoes off at the entrance to the hotel, to sleep on mattresses on the floor, etc.), with gostepriimny owners, great Onsen and interesting food (from the point of view of the presentation is actually one of the best ever seen in the trip). The only thing: the rooms look too much rustic and ustashe.

Very good ryokan, I loved my stay here. The staff doesn't speak english fluently, but they'll try their very best to help you as good as possible. The ryokan is easily accessible trough public transport (not shown by google) just ask the local tourist office for which bus to take.

Nice personel, excellent breakfast and dinner. The location is near the mountains so its not central Matsumoto. Its perfect if you want to relax, take an onsen and have walk near the mountain. The bus trip from the station to the ryokan is 340yen and taxi is around 2500yen. To the nearest 7eleven takes 10 min by food.
