Matsumoto, 4-8-9 Ote (in the centre) 🧭 Map
Matsumoto folk art furniture was displayed throughout the hotel, including at the front desk, which was very lovely. This is the only place to stay in Matsumoto. We will definitely stay here again
Very classy hotel. Great onsen included. Great value for your buck. Close to Matsumoto castle which is probably the single most popular and best place to visit in Matsumoto.
My family and I returned for the first time in over 10 years. The hotel has been renovated, and while the calm atmosphere remains the same, it feels even more comfortable
The bed was comfortable and we slept soundly, and the breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options. We also enjoyed relaxing in the large public bath
On the afternoon of my return trip, I asked the front desk to help me call a taxi, but was told there were no taxi drivers nearby at the moment, and bus services were also infrequent
Overall, it's suitable for those who want to explore Matsumoto at a leisurely pace. Also, the facilities in the old building are a bit dated and the soundproofing is a little poor

The sauna is so so like many common hotels. There is a welcome drink time from 5pm and tea rice time after 8:30 pm. So it was a pleasant and relaxing experience to stay in this hotel
Comfortable spacious room with nice amenities and professional service. Great location near to the bus and train station, and within walking distances to the castle. Too bad i didn’t have time to try the onsen.
This hotel is located near to the Matsumoto station, 5 minutes walking distance. The first impression of the hotel does not like any other hotels I stayed. The hotel doesn’t provide daily cleaning services
Very very close to a convenience store, which I have to say I didn't really find a lot of convenience stores In matsumoto.. the hotel is very close to the train station, can be very good value for money.
Front staff’ s very helpful and supportive we stayed on 17 April 2026. The hotel location is very convenient there is a Lawson next to hotel. We really enjoyed stay at Tabino! Thank you.
Instead, I can put the garbage and used towels outside the room door. Also the hotel provides room amenities in the first floor and the bathrobes are available near the elevator

Matsumoto, 6F Conglo M, 1-3-11 Fukashi (in the centre) 🧭 Map
The lighting wasn't great at night, and I walked around for quite a while before I found the entrance. There was no one around late at night, which made me a little uneasy – maybe I'm just a bit timid (haha)
After a day of exploring Matsumoto Castle, a soak there is incredibly relaxing and a truly wonderful experience. I highly recommend this place for anyone on a budget who also values a good onsen experience
I stayed in the single room with shared bathroom. The room is comfortable but beware that there is no door in the room, just a courtain so it’s very much like sleeping in dorms in terms of noise
The rooms are clean and tidy, and the service is excellent, ensuring a comfortable stay. The real highlight is the large public bath. It's spacious and the water quality is fantastic
I have nothing to say but it was all worth it. The location, amenities, and staff were all top-notch. I'll definitely stay here again if I get a chance to visit this charming city.
It was quiet and comfortable – the sleep quality in this capsule room was comparable to a single hotel room. The only slight drawback was that it was a bit hard to find

Matsumoto, 2-2-1 Fukashi (in the centre) 🧭 Map
Clean and modern in great location next to museum and castle. Check out the 9th floor for the Onsen, cold bath and sauna. Highly recommend
A reasonably priced hotel with amenities that extend beyond its price point. Free washing machines (with a minimally priced dryer) and an onsen with refreshments. Close to main attractions and the station/bus terminal.
It’s only six min walk from the station. As Japanese hotels near train station usually very small, we always try to book twin rooms. This twin room has a separate sink outside the bathroom
This is a wonderful hot spring hotel. Every detail is exquisite, showcasing Japanese meticulousness while maintaining a grand and comfortable feel. The hot springs, in particular, are impeccable. Highly recommend!
Staff are just superb, friendly and super helpful. Breakfast was impressive in variety and offering. The Onsen facilities are a further highlight along with the post Onsen ice cream and probiotic drinks included😀
The double room in this somewhat rural location was a decent size. It's about a 7-8 minute walk from the station, and there are 2-3 convenience stores within a 3-minute walk downstairs

The hotel is new and clean overall, with beautiful room views, especially the private hot spring bath. Breakfast and dinner are plentiful, making it a suitable hot spring hotel for a family of all sizes
Having stayed at many Japanese onsen hotels, this one truly offers excellent value for money. Service: The hotel is a 20-minute drive from JR Station and provides a shuttle service
I am a solo traveler who stayed in the room with private open bath. Hotel looks tired and old but it was all good. Btw, you have to use a key to open the door not access card
I highly recommend this onsen hotel, ranked among the top 30 in all of Japan, to anyone visiting Matsumoto! The room views, hot springs, food, and service are all impeccable
Dining: The half-board plan includes a multi-course kaiseki dinner and a buffet breakfast. The variety is extensive, the food is delicious, and it's well worth the price
A gentleman named Ito helped us book a restaurant in Ise for the next day, making several calls until he finally secured a reservation, for which we are very grateful 🙏

The hotel is great, well-located with convenient transport links, and the service is excellent.
The hotel was everything we wanted, would definitely stay again!
The hotel is within walking distance of the castle's evening light show. Paid parking is available, though the path from the hotel to the car park is not ideal when traveling with luggage, despite the short distance
This hotel was amazing for the price, it's within walking distance of the castle and you can use the Onsen for free, I would recommend
Waking up to a view of snow-capped mountains right outside my window was a pleasant surprise. The leather slippers provided show the hotel's attention to quality amenities
He even accompanied my boyfriend to return the car to the shared rental parking area. Without his help, we honestly wouldn’t have been able to return the car properly since I don’t have a Japanese phone number

I had a comfortable stay. I used it on a business trip, and there were delicious izakaya restaurants nearby, so I was able to relax until the evening.
Personally, having a large public bath was one of my criteria for choosing this hotel, and I was satisfied with the amenities as well
Breakfast was a buffet style, and I felt like there were a lot of missing items, or rather, they weren't replenished in time. Other than that, there is also a hot spring, which I think is good for casual use.
However, overall I was satisfied and would recommend this hotel
There are relatively many places to eat and drink around the hotel, but there are no convenience stores, which is a bit inconvenient. There were very few foreigners, which was great. Breakfast was also delicious.
Breakfast was included, but for hygiene reasons, we were not allowed to take it out of the room. I gave up and bought something from a convenience store and ate it in the room

Excellent service, clean rooms, good water pressure, and they really care about their guests, offering great directions. It's very convenient to get around, close to Beijing Road with lots of food options nearby
The hotel's location is excellent, just a 2-minute walk from the JR station if you turn left. It also has a hot spring, and it's a historic hotel. I stayed in a Japanese-style room, which was quite unique.
Famous cafes are right next to the hotel, and there are so many shops along the street. The convenience store isn't far either. I'll definitely stay here again next time, and I highly recommend it to my friends
Very good infrastructures in this hotel. Nice terrace to have a view on the sunset on the mountains. They have bikes to rent for free and the service is fast and excellent
Located within walking distance to Matsumoto station. Rooms were clean and tidy, front desk staff were friendly, informative and spoke good english

The room is relatively small but has everything. The food was great, the same for both days. From Bones to Pingtang, I asked the lady at the front desk to make an appointment for a rental, which was extremely smooth
The hotel, the room and the bathing areas were clean and relaxing.  The room was also spacious and had a wonderful view.   The staff was professional, courteous, and polite
Nice hotel and onsen, conveniently located about a 10 minute drive away from the Sawando bus terminal (where you can catch a 30 minute bus ride to Kamikochi)
After traveling from Kamikochi, take a bus and change buses at Zedu (k20). After getting off the bus at Baigu Hot Spring, you will find the hotel
The hotel is large, the rooms are warm, the food is good, and there is a shuttle bus to the bus station.
The room was small but clean. I bought a one night stay with two meals package and it was okay overall.

Nice Onsen hotel in Matsumoto, at the heart of the Armsana Onsen town. Large room for 4 of us with futon to sleep on, very traditional style. Nice onsen hotel that has adequate amenitiess available for use
Hotel deployed a staff to lead me to the car park wit ample lots
My family stayed here for one night in 2 rooms. It didn’t seem to have many guests in mid November. Rooms were clean and had a nice view. Breakfast was served in a bento but is considered a balanced meal
I chose a mountain view room, so I could see the beautiful scenery of the Alps. The hot springs, both indoor and outdoor, were available 24 hours a day, so it was a very satisfying hotel
You can see the Northern Alps, the hotel has hot springs, and you can also see the scenery. The street at the door is very quiet and simple, suitable for strolling
It was a beautiful hot spring inn from the entrance. The free space was lovely, the rooms were spacious and the Japanese atmosphere was great

Very friendly front counter, very large room at a great price, left bags a few hours before check in easily, bed comfy, good soft linen, easy to use a/c, standard Japanese buffet (didn't have long enough time to properly enjoy, but had everything, meat noodles miso soup etc), with surprisingly good coffee (filter) and fresh juice, with short walk to station to grab a train out in the morning 👍
This is a small hotel but pretty good. Between 10 and 15mn by walk from the Matsumoto station and 20m. There is a lift and the breakfast included starting at 6h30 is a various buffet
It's not far from the train station, and there's a convenience store nearby, as well as Matsumoto Castle, all within walking distance. There are also plenty of restaurants around
Check-in and checkout fast and efficient. The price is affordable and they propose at the 2nd floor a Japanese bath

The freshly grilled* and miso-boiled mackerel were very delicious. Thanks to the attentive service of the staff, we were able to spend a relaxing and comfortable time. I would definitely like to visit again
The service was the best we experienced in Japan (and we only experienced good to great service). We arrived after a short walk from the bus stop, and there was someone outside to greet us
The breakfasts were very good and they kindly ensured it was vegetarian for us. We enjoyed spending an hour or two in the bar in the evenings and trying some of the local drinks. The onsen was clean and very nice, too
Special mention to Mayumi who introduced us and was lovely to chat to during our stay. We were sad to leave and this place set a high precedent for the rest of our trip!
This Ryokan style hotel is beautiful. The food and whole experience is awesome. The personal is really nice and willing to help. Matsumoto is such a pretty place to visit and this hotel completes the experience
Part of the breakfast was a buffet (rice, miso soup, natto, nama*, yogurt, etc. ), and the system of bringing freshly made side dishes allowed us to have as many refills as we wanted, which was nice

This place has aged well, rooms are spacious, there is a private onsen on the top floor for 40min usage, and there are a couple of great restaurants 10mins walking distance around. Only stayed 1 night but would go back
I liked it a lot. Good for the price. Really good deal, big rooms, private bathroom. Onsen with amenities. Free parking. Super kind staff. It’s a little old, but it’s great.
This is out of town, but I’m a sucker for traditional onsen ryokan
Nice Riokan Food was excellent and staff were very friendly and helpful, although didn't speak much english. The only downside was the facility was a bit worn -stained carpets, peeling wallpaper, and musty smell
Food was awsome! Property is a bit run down (peeling wallpaper, stained carpets, musty smell).
I'm a website-savvy person who has stayed in ryokan before and I can say there was *zero* indication in my reservation that I had chosen a package that did *not* include the traditional kaiseki dinner that one expects -- and understands to be included -- in a ryokan stay

A very cozy hotel in a quiet area of Matsumoto. The staff, although not very fluent in English, were always willing to help and wait while I typed a question into Google Translate
The location is excellent and very convenient for getting around. The room was clean and comfortable, and I really appreciated that pajamas were provided. Great stay overall!
A traditional Japanese-style hot spring hotel. The tatami room is very comfortable to sleep in. You can also take a walk in the mountains surrounding the hotel.
Getting to and from the hotel was a bit inconvenient, as buses run every half hour, but the views around the hotel made it worthwhile
Good vibes, good service mind and good for rest. This hotel is ryokan style with onsen.
Ample space for parking. It’s a quiet place. Enjoyed the hot spring during my stay.

The only thing that was disappointing was that the windows in the room couldn't be opened because it was summer and bugs would get in. Other than that, it was fine. Everyone, please go and enjoy the hot springs😊
The room is perfect. The location is great and their Onsen is great
We arrived at the hotel late and missed dinner time, but the staff tried their best to help arrange some food, typical Japanese excellent service
This hotel stands on the hill of Asama Onsen. The parking lot is below and it is difficult to understand because it is a short walk. It used to be a long-established luxury inn called Fuki no Yu Ryokan
The cushion of the chair in the single room was too good, and it was too low to use the computer, but the dinner and breakfast buffets had a wide variety of dishes and were delicious
It is a hotel with a very good cost performance. Some rooms are old-fashioned and some are new, but they are clean. There is also a buffet, sukiyaki and shabu-shabu for each person

Excellent food and room. Special the hot tub with natural volcanic hot water. It's possible to have a private hot tub or join the guest in the general hot tube.
The meals were a highlight—each dish was crafted with locally sourced ingredients, resulting in an exquisite culinary journey that was both fresh and authentic

Love the onsen experience, never in my life would I have realised that the Haori was so comfortable until this trip, if only it snowed, the experience will be a lot better. The food was nice, it was finger licking good
So, I made sure to buffer some time for me to leave from the Kamikochi station, and other nearby attractions. The reception staff helped me retrieve my phone left in a public taxi I took from Kamikochi station
We appreciated the shuttle service and the well appointed building. The traditional japanese food was delicious and bountiful. The location and scenery were magical, peaceful, and transcendent
We visited the nearby kamikochi area during the day and relaxed in the onsen after. The water is very nice, the smell was not unpleasant. The facility was clean and good for relaxing
We stayed 2 nights and loved this traditional ryokan experience. The tatami floors were incredible and the futons were very comfortable. The staff were considerate and kind

The dishes were well-prepared and enjoyable! The staff were friendly and hospitable. The room was just as clean as in the photos, with large windows and a lovely feel. I'd definitely like to stay here again
The room was large but not very tall, and the view from the window wasn't great. The hot spring was great and not crowded at all; when I went at 10 pm, there was no one there, so I had it all to myself
Breakfast and dinner were both good, definitely worth the price. Online booking didn't require prepayment. In summary: I'm very satisfied. I'd like to go again if I have the chance
We also enjoyed a traditional multi-course dinner – very impressive! Pleasant music plays from speakers in the hallways
Highly recommended, a traditional Japanese hotel with a beautiful Japanese garden near the reception
Wi-Fi can be used even in private rooms The rice is delicious anyway Not good place The hot springs are not so large I have a regret that the hot springs should be a little wider, but I was very satisfied with the delicious rice and the warm service of the employees

Very Friendly Bedroom and bathroom was clean. Provided with towels, liquid soap/shampoo/conditioner and toilet paper. Kettle and desk Good WiFi signal in the room. Multi Channel TV Quiet hotel well located
We managed to stay in Annex room and the room is newly renovated and very comfortable. The most impressive one was they provide nice green tea/houjicha and the hotel lounge was really comfortable
The service as very good and the staff was very helpful. I was able to leave my bag while I was sightseeing. The room was very clean and comfortable. And the breakfast was excellent with a large variety of food
The room was nice but since it was a smoking room the smell wasn't very pleasant. There is a nice public bath with alternating times for men and women which is well equipped and relaxing
Breakfast is good, too, lots of vegetables and even homemade jam. Only the coffee was a disappointment. Parking is free and there is also free bicycle rental which was great
There is a comic room that is open to the public and provides tea and midnight snacks, so that travelers who don't want to go out can also stay in the hotel comfortably.

This was a ryokan I visited while traveling with a friend. The rooms were very clean, and the tea provided in each room was delicious. The staff were always friendly, and the breakfast was of excellent quality
A small, charming, and cozy hot spring inn. It features a private, semi-open-air bath where you can enjoy a tranquil soak. Our room was a traditional Japanese style, clean, refreshing, and just the right size
The staff were very friendly. The location is conveniently situated on the main hot spring path. It's visible as soon as you enter Asama Onsen. We then cycled to Kamigata Shrine and other attractions
Breakfast is a typical Japanese breakfast, and the latest one is 8:30. There should be guest rooms on the first and second floors, and there are private and public bathrooms on the first floor
There is a bus stop to Matsumoto Station at the door, and the journey takes about 25 minutes. PS: The hotel feels like it is run by a family of four, father, brother and sister
The hot spring pool is very clean, but also very hot. The room is very spacious, with just enough space for four beds. There is an indoor bathroom, but no shower room
