When I came to Nagoya, I stayed at the Mitsui hotel, which is very close to the train station, making it incredibly convenient for getting around. Only the facade and lobby look grand. The only good thing is the airport shuttle goes directly there. Nothing else was good. The room was large but very rundown. The bathroom lighting was dim.

Trust me on this, even though the hotel is old, the bed is incredibly comfortable. It's been a long time since I've slept so soundly. Plus, while the exterior is dated, the interior rooms have been renovated. The separate wet and dry areas in the bathroom are also a nice touch.
