Business Hotel Minshuku Minato in Tokushima

This hotel was exactly what I needed after a long day of cycling and a 2 hour ferry ride. Simple, straight to the point and a nice, traditional Japanese room to rest your head in. Would definitely recommend!

The staff at the guesthouse were very kind.
The location was great, with an Aeon Mall nearby.
The building is old, and as you'd expect for the price, it's quite noisy, so it seems like the clientele that day is entirely determined by the noise levels.
(Doors closing, footsteps, voices, and the volume of the TV all echo quite loudly.)
The day I stayed there, the TV was on at full volume until after 2 a.m., so I could hardly fall asleep, and the next day I was completely sleep-deprived.

Exactly what I expected and wanted after an 18km hike followed by a two hour ferry ride: a no-nonsense, inexpensive place to crash, near the port.

Price was 4500 yen for a single room, which was basic but entirely serviceable. No convenience store nearby, but there is a Mos Burger not far away. Owner seems to come and go, so it's best to phone ahead to make sure he's there to let you in!

Stayed during the Awa Odori Festival.
Free parking. Tokushima station is about 3 km away, but Aeon Mall is right next to it and the bus also runs, so there is no inconvenience.

The building is a little old, and I was worried that I could hear a lot of noise when walking and that I could hear a lot of noise from the next room, but the room was equipped with a refrigerator, an air purifier, a boiling pot, a hair dryer, and a mirror. It's no different than a hotel.

The toilet and bath are shared, but there are large and small towels, razors, paper cups, toothbrushes, body soap, shampoo, and cotton swabs.

Laundry is also available for a fee (300 yen).

In addition, disposable chopsticks are available in the dining room, and tableware can be borrowed upon request.

It is an old but good inn, with consideration given to reach out to various itchy places.

The person who responded was also very polite and had a good impression.

I would like to use it next time.

I wanted to have a hot pot for dinner, and when I asked for a hot pot, I was sorry to have all the gas stoves, hot pots, tableware, etc. prepared. The room was also equipped with a refrigerator, air conditioner, hair dryer, air purifier, etc. and was very comfortable. And cheap!

Clean, fairly cheap, no complaints. Owner can't speak English though, but no problems. Free bike rental was awesome.

Very friendly owner. Nice room. Close to tokushima station. Good breakfast included.
